Breaks easily. Not as good quality as other tablets i purchased previous years – Tablet itself is good but quality of the material used to make is very cheap. I have purchased 5 tablets and all my tablets have cracked screen within 3 months of purchase. My kids are old enough and i assure that they handle it very well. It easily breaks despite i purchased shock proof case covers that were 40 dollars each. Charger covers… Read more

are all out.very very cheaply made. So expensive to buy but samsung seems to be a scammer too. As parents we need to spend every 6 months to 1 year on new tablets. This is how samsung ripping people off. But in the eyes of the law they are legitimate business but they scamming consumers by making product of inferior quality. It would be nice to hear if there are other parents who had experienced what i did.

Terrible! – Had an older version of sumsung tablet. Was awesome! : Included a pen, which was inserted into the tablet. Free and not to be lost. Was best thing for notes. Could rest hand on screen and write. No need for battery for the pen, no need to recharge. Now got a new one. Had to spend $100 on top of tablet to get a pen. Can't be inserted nor… Read more

attached to tablet, only a matter of time before I loose the thing. Has to be recharged every second day. Can't do notes as there is no option to rest hand on screen to write, free hand is awful! Yes, simple things. But huge impact!

One question to designer. Why would you FK up a good thing? Stupidity!

For the first time in my life thinking to switch to I pad! Thx, Sumsung

Amazing – We have 7 tablets in our home for multiple purposes. 10" for the adults and ,7" for the kids. They have been great with no problem whatsoever. No issues with apps, connectivity, or games. Kids mode is great. Only downside is that it doesnt take much to break. Would be awesome if there was a cover included moreso for kids. Id he happy to pay a bit extra if included. Otherwise all roubd satisfaction.  Show details

It still works fine tho where you can use social media fine, browse the internet, etc.. but when it comes to games it's lags allot cause this model is a bit old.  Show details

Great budget tablet for kids – Review is on the lenovo tab7.7" 16GB I personally was in the market for a little tablet for my 2yr old (soon will purchase one for a 7yr old due to her ipad mini broke) but overall if your shopping for a budget device to keep the kids entertained, i feel like I myself made the right choice. The resolution isn't that great but i don't know… Read more

Not so Happy – The Samsung Tab A 7.0 keeps turning off, it appears it may have a sensitive area on the edge of the screen. Its quite annoying. Has anyone else had similar experiences. The rest of the system appears to be alright as i use it for my 6 year old grandson, anyone else experience similar issues?  Show details

Good but not great – I'm glad I bought this Tablet because it has made my life easier in so many ways. I can read books, browse the internet and record video. I'm not pleased with the limited amount of gig space or the tap screen, though. Cleaning is no longer enough to ensure usability. _Samsung as usual Excellent Engineering_ – Samsung TAB 10.1 tablet SM T580 Alright a products not much good untill you used it for at least 12 months or more correct? Well the Samsung TAB 10.1 is an excellent piece of gear. I purchased at Harvey Norman 12 months ago. For the $300 price tag a real bargain. 2 GB RAM is good enough for everyday basic internet e- mails/ web browsing on my… Read more

tablet and i don't use my stupid extra smart mobile any more. Longish battery recharge as battery ages but no replacement is likely soon. Samsung batteries I found are always long lasting and reliable. It won't multi task like a PC would, but split screen function is handy for quick web browser page/ document save and read later. Shatter proof glass protectors I would recommend as the10.1 screen could be cracked by dropping it or sitting on it, they retail for about $35. The newer 4GB ram( 256 GB HD) Samsung Tab S retail for $1,379 Samsung HD Digital cameras are superior too most ,compared with say the Huawei mobile camera. Smallish 32 GB HD augmented with add on 14.5 GB mini SD memory cards ( not bad) but if you don't want this hassle ,spend another $700 on the newer Samsung TAB, personally I will wait 12 months for the price to come down. Reliable touch screen still good as new after using daily for 13 months. Excellent photo editor is great for basic graphics in HD and it's really surprising how you can knock up a half decent picture and edit touch screen wizard style. Not bad the Samsung photo/picture editing options. Big screen 10.1 portrait mode just perfect for You Tube, dosen't exactly have Apple's I Pads posh Quad-phonic's but cooks reasonably enough at half the price. Easy to use this TAB with no need to read the manual ever. Menu is logical and VERY easy to use. Standard ( mobile style ) flash drive optimize function and quiet az.

***A bit slower compared with say a Huawei smart phones amazingly ability to be online 5 seconds Tops , at first after boot up this TAB takes a (slowish 30 seconds approx.) before being online surprisingly Huwaei tops Samsung here, but still this TAB's good enough for me.***

Never overheats and has never frozen or crashed like say an Apple I Pad might. I can't really fault this at all and I'm very hard to please. Overall an Excellent piece of gear.

Really good shame it's discounted – I've had it for 4 years and it's great. Graphics are brilliant and it doesn't run very hot or slow. A bit thing for me is portability and battery life which have no problem. I carry it so often and my pencil case probably weighs more. Easily lasts a vkuolr of days with moderate use. Only negative is that it's didcontinued so accessories eg keyboard are hard to come by.  Show details

Decent tablet – I think this is a good tablet for basic functionality. I find that it gets quite slow as you install more apps and have more apps running consequently in the background. I tried a factory reset to clear all the apps and it did improve the speed slightly but not as much as I would've imagined. Right now there are plenty of tablets in the market so I would definitely do the research before purchasing.  Show details

A champion tablet killed by it's maker's own hand – This was a total winner of a tablet for about 3 months. Sadly the manufacturer Samscum provided virtually no support for it and the GT-P6810 faded into the history books, never to see anything higher than Android 4.04. If a 4.22 ROM had been developed, this tablet would still be somewhat useful today. Unfortunately it is, and has been for most of it's life completely useless.  Show details

Great, inexpensive – I bought this tablet a few years ago, I had to get the charging port replaced, which wasn't expensive though. Otherwise no problems at all. It does everything I need it to do. Works well, I'm happy with it. Small, slimline, fast, easy to charge. I woukd repurchase if it was still available!  Show details

Not the greatest – This isn't the greatest tablet I've used. However I still manage to use it for its intended purchase. It was inexpensive at the time I bought it. It was fast to use for about 2 months then it slowed right down. Even after I factory reset it. I wouldn't buy a Samsung tablet again after this experience.  Show details

Worth the price – Bought this nearly 4 years back and it works perfectly. It's perfect for basic functions such as email, playing simple games, surfing the net etc. It's not very high-tech and I'm sure there are better models out there now. It serves the purpose of what was required at the time of purchase and works fine even now.  Show details

Great product ... however – Relatively sluggish performance and better to be used as a youtube/video player as anything else causes the processor to slow down excessively. Repeated power faults and repeated abhorent customer service – Like other users here, I purchased this product when is was top of the line ($399 from Dick Smith Electronic). 6 months into it's life it stopped charging fully. returned. I insisted on a replacement but was told that another fault had been identified and rectified; despite acknowledging the faults, Samsung made a suggestion that "the user had not downloaded the recommended software updates" despite it clearly being a hardware, not software, issue. These problems persisted over the course of it's warranty and, going black and blue in the face with frustration, they refused to refund or replace, with new problems emerging such as the unit cutting out spontaneously. I escalated the matter to a case manager and then a team leader, and eventually tried to escalate it above this point, but hit a brick wall. Now I'm left with a tablet that cuts out after 10-20 seconds of use, so it sits in my draw. I'm extremely aware of protecting devices like this and bought a GumDrop rubber case for it at purchase. It's always been well cared for and yet Samsung closed the case, suggesting "the user may have damaged the unit by handling it roughly." This has been an infuriating process, a terribly unreliable product, and an irresponsible and disgraceful customer service response. I will never ever purchase another Samsung product again.

Brilliant Screen, Geat for Photos and Access the web – I was looking for a Tablet that had a high resolution screen that would give me good access to web based apps that used mapping. The Screen resolution is 2560×1600 which is perfect for looking at maps and accessing business application that have a lot of information on the screen. I was also impressed with both cameras that give great resolution pictures.  Show details

Good value budget unit with budget credentials – I bought this tab as I was watching videos on my phone a lot so thought a bigger screen would be good. The resolution is quite low for its size which is immediately noticeable if you have been using a good quality phone with 1080p or higher res. The image is a bit grainy but overall is passable for the price. The onboard storage is small at 8gb… Read more

with only around 4 being available (less once you install apps) but this is easily fixed by adding a micro SD card - so best to add that cost to your budget when buying one, unless you only use it for watching vids via YouTube as I do.

The touch screen can sometimes feel a bit unresponsive and it can lag a bit when selecting items but it is still acceptable considering the price. I don't like how the buttons to lock and change volume are on opposite sides from my Samsung phone, as I am constantly pressing the wrong ones when switching between devices.

JB are selling them for $197 at present and for the price they are definitely worth it, though they are definitely a budget unit.

What a lemon – Purchased this model, as it was the top of the range at the time. All was well until 18months into its ownership when it stopped charging, or was slow at doing so. I returned under warranty to have it serviced. It was returned and over the next 12 months, the same problem occurred with it. 5 times in total. I was told it was fixed and that they… Read more

had done this and that with it to rectify it. On the last occasion I asked that it be consider that I receive a replacement. After three weeks of it being at the Olympic Park centre I received a phone call from the "Case Manager" telling me once again that all tests had been performed on it, and that it would be returned to me, and no they wouldn't replace it. 9 days after this phone call I sent an email the case manager asking when I might receive my tablet as I was about to leave the country for an overseas holiday and would like to take the tablet with me. I must say that Samsung have this "live chat" available, and over the twelve months I have made use of it, not that any of the people, who apparently are based overseas , can every tell me anything with regard to the status of the tablet.

The case manager told me that it was being couriered to me and that I would receive it no later than midday today, Monday. I am given a tracking number and so over the weekend I see that yes, it has left Homebush and is in Brisbane. thats good, its now only 160kms away from me. So I ring the courier and ask when I might expect delivery. I was told by noon on Tuesday.

Wouldn't you think that a big company such as Samsung would suck this one up and replace it. They have spent millions on replacing washing machines, and I had one of those too, as well as replacing dud smart phones, a little old tablet replacement is not going to be a big dent in their profits.....

Customer service....no such thing....more like lets see how much we can annoy this sucker...

is no way of backing anything up with the Samsung Galaxy! Now, two months later I find that it switches itself off frequently and suddenly. Nice device, apart from intermittent touch screen – Plays movies well, apps work fine and processor runs most games. The touch screen is the issue, constant sticky spots and freezes so nothing will work for a few seconds. Constantly cleaning screen to no avail. Renders the device unusable when i want to play games. Not just mine either, a friend has the same issues with his.

Extremely Dissapointed – I decided to upgrade from my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to the latest Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 as I needed to have the latest version of bluetooth to sync my device. improved and be even better. What a mistake that was..I didn't realise there were two versions, one with all the bells and whistles and a very basic model. I have ended up downgrading to the most basic tablet, Why would you go backwards Samsung???? it is very dissapointing and I am unable to return it to where I bought it because there is no change of mind policy. Here are some of the downgrades from the original...1 . It has no Flash 2. the camera is only a 3.1 megapixel 3. The camera has no auto focus function which means you can't get it to focus when trying to scan barcodes, so there goes the convenience of using the supermarket apps for your shopping list, or scanning food when tracking with my fittnesspal. 4. The touch screen is very hit and miss, sometimes you have to tap a number of times to get it to work and I think it has a lower quality screen because it tends to show up the fingerprints a lot more. 5. The speakers are not as good either. The only improvement over the old one is later versions of the software like bluetooth 4.0. So if you own the old galaxy Tab 10.1, do your homework before you upgrade to a new version, make sure it has everything you expect a new version to have. (I won't be making the same assumption next time I am upgrading)

Terrible service from Samsung – Compared to the apple, this is a terrible device. Depends what you want it for; photos are good, but thats a bout it. Its harder to use, doesn't easily accept applications and the service from samsung and product support is terrible. Don't order online!!!!! Accessories are not easily obtained because you have to shop at samsung. Its just a headache. Expensive. Bad service. Harder to obtain products from Samsung.

Samsung are marketing a non-working product – Samsung ought to be ethical in their product marketing and tell the whole world that the Samsung Galaxy Tab10.1 is a defective product. It does not charge up!!! It is unethical to hide this big flaw! There should be a customer warranty clause which allows returns. I would not recommend this product to anyone. BTW No, the cables are original, they are not faulty....every component is as Samsung provided. No trying to cover this serious flaw.

If you like android, then this is your toy – Let me say first. I can't get used to the OS. on screen keyboard, the keyboard dock and internet browsers like Mozilla and Google Chrome: for e.g. you can't type a . using the keyboard dock and the CAPS lock light comes on opposite, on for lower case, off for upper. I returned it to the place of purchase-Harvey Norman and they checked it, compared it to other stock and found the same result on other galaxy tablets and docks. Adobe no longer runs flash on android devices, so I can't see anything requiring flash-for me this means I cannot complete my online study using the galaxy tab. A huge inconvenience.

The look of the tab is sleek and sophisticated. It is lightweight and portable. I like the ease and speed of navigating, installing and uninstalling apps and start-up. I downloaded an app that acts as a substitute for Office programs, so I can open, read and edit documents. The front facing camera is high quality, the reverse is grainy and dark. The screen quality is really high, it appears very similar to iPad quality.

For $748, including a belkin case/stand, 2 screen protectors and a keyboard dock, it's a fun and useful tab, with some quirks and kinks that make it difficult to act as a substitute for a laptop, which is what I had hoped it would do.

I would recommend the galaxy tab, if you are looking specifically for a tablet or are comparing to the apple iPad. Accurate touch screen, clear and high quality screen akin to iPad Some internet programs won't run on it, android-based quirks and kinks
