Fabulous mixer – I have always had Kenwood. For the others who complain the black stuff comes off k beater in particular if washed in dishwasher. Doesn’t happen if washed in sink. Best mixers I’ve ever had. Had one that lasted well over 40 years before needing any form of repair. Attachment I have is mincer Never used, blender which I use frequently and food processor used constantly  Show details

Always had KC. Disappointed with K.mix – t Kmix for 40th BDay. Huge expense for inferior product. Coating comes off attachments and black residue ends up in food. Had to throw out food. Does not reach edges when creaming butter and sugar like chef did. Decal markings canned off around knob b in first few uses. Very disappointed. Can't afford a new one. Expected this to last 20 years!

RELIABLE OLD GIRL – I have had my Kenwood Chef for 35 years. I use it every other day, mostly for kneading my sourdough. It is noisy but I don't mind because it's part of the appeal, really. I recently bought an after-market, stainless steel bowl which is useful. What can you say about a piece of equipment which has been with you for so long? I cannot speak more highly of this machine.

Similar fate – I too have had a kenwood chef for more years than I can recall, and today it gave up the ghost. I am looking to buy a KM 300 but was wondering if anyone could tell me if the attachments are interchangeable from the Kenwood Excel which is what I had. Love my machine and would not get anything else.

Love my Kenwood Chef – I love my Kenwood Chef(s), They both came with the mincer and blender. I was just finishing up making a Chocolate Mud cake when my old KC died and it would have to be the best one yet. I thought about buying a Kitchen Aid but figured after 17 yrs why buy anything else. Over the years I have made many cakes, biscuits, breads and shortbreads, minced… Read more

meats and vegies for pies and mixed up the best filling for sausage rolls doing everything I wanted easily. I recently bought the Kenwood Chef KM300, while I do love this machine I don't have the emotional attachment like I do with the old one so I have decided to have her repaired and will be giving either this one or the old one to my daughter. Hoping to get another 17 years or more from both machines. I think the new machine is a bit louder than the old one but could still be running in. Great machines, very happy with them.

Secondhand and fabulous – My old Kenwood mixer died, after giving supreme service for at least 20 years. I bought small hand held electric Sunbeam beaters, (not a real substitute for a Kenwood Chef) but pined for my Kenwood. This Kenwood Chef popped up on Gumtree for $150 and its a beaut. I make my bread using the dough hook, brilliant. An indulgent Pavlova (using… Read more

balloon whisks) was superb and a fruit cake made with the K-Beaters today, is excellent. It is far less noisy than my old Kenwood, family and friends would leave the house.

This Kenwood is bliss. I believe this model came out around 2004. So far so good. The motor purrs. I enjoy cooking and this old girl is lovely to use and so very quiet! Actually I love it. Good cooking tools are a necessity. I like everything about this KM 300 Kenwood Chef It needed new rubber feet, purchased 5 for $10.

Old age – I was given a kenwood chef for my 21st birthday. I am now 62. I love it and it is still going strong. Never had any problems and I just want to say good job Kenwood. It does all the jobs I ask and it makes the most lovely Xmas cakes of which one is sent overseas to elderly family. Very reliable and can do anything. None yet after 40 years.

Kenwood Mixers - Black Aluminium Residue – Although Kenwood mixers are excellent long lasting machines, the K-Beater & Ballon Whisks & Dough H are a problem. If you don't know any better & put them in the dishwasher it breaks down the aluminium and a lot black residue comes off. Aluminium is toxic. Newer machines are coated in some sort of non stick coating, that is coming off in pieces… Read more

now too. This is a disgrace. Kenwood should have a replacement program where you return the part for a new non toxic part at a reduced price. Powerful, Reliable Black Residue & Non Stick Coating coming off.

Good – This is your basic model Kenwood Chef and while I love it to pieces and wouldn't trade it for the world, it does lose a star for not creaming small amounts of butter and sugar effectively - they just get stuck to the sides and I have to scrape it down. It's not a huge issue, overall this a good machine and if you love to cook then I recommend it.… Read more ·  1

- No more creaming butter and sugar by hand

- Dough hook does a great job

- Makes cooking a lot faster and easier

- Loads of attachments available

- Really easy to clean - K-beater less than effective with small amounts

- Likes to 'walk' around my bench when beating something dense

- Slightly flimsy design

Excellent – I purchased this product after my mother had the original one when I was growing up. I have used it for many different recipes over many years and never had a problem. I have used different beater attachments (such as whisk) with great success and have used the attachment blender on the top. It is a very versatile machine and it cleans easily. … Read more

I have had my unit for 5 years and use it regularly with no problems. Big mixing bowl, several attachment beaters, easy to use and easy to clean. Good variety of speeds to cater for different recipes. Electrical cord is a little short so have to place the machine relatively close to the powerpoint (although this could equally be a problem with all similar applicances)

Excellent – I use my Chef nearly every day and husband uses it to make an easy cake recipe for the Grand Children. We have the mincing attachment as well and when steak is cheap we buy make our own mince. The greatest machine invented I have been using one for forty years this is my second as first was left at business we had. Fantastic for creaming butter and sugar, making pastry and whisking egg whites. Means I have no excuse for not cooking.

Good – Not a bad mixer by any means, it was reasonably priced and has proven to be reliable. In terms of improvements, I would have liked more speed adjustment and for it to be at least made from a metal frame with a glass mixing bowl for durability. Looks modern and easy enough to use, I got this last Christmas. Does well mixing my cake dough… Read more

although I have to switch it up to the top speed. Simple to clean and the bowl is dishwasher safe. Compared to my old Sunbeam, it doesn't exactly feel all that sturdy. The entire unit including the bowl is made of plastic and the motor does not appear to be that powerful.

Good – Good machine. Performs a vareity of tasks like creaming, whipping, making dough, blending and even mincing meat if you choose to buy the extra attachment. Would like it to be a little more sturdy as when making dough it moves around a bit. I like that i can add the blender on the top of the machine. This makes it easy for me as my chef sits on… Read more ·  1

the bench top and i dont need to pull out another blender. Easy to clean and use. Deep bowl. Sometimes you use less ingredients and it does not work well. Would prefer a glass bowl or stainless steel bowl instead.

Excellent – This is my first ever kitchen machine and I don't know how I lived without it. I bake bread with it multiple times a week, make fresh muffins and cakes and all sorts of other goodies! My Kenwood also came with a mincer attachment, which after mastering, makes super tasty hamburgers. I was super proud of making my own sausages as well. For anyone… Read more

who loves to bake or cook this is a great investment! Does all the hard work for me. Well made and well designed. reliable with lots of fun attachments!

Cheaper than other similar brands. Machine and attachments are a bit pricey - but at least they look like they will last. Adjusting the K beater to reach the bowl properly is a bit fiddly.

Been wanting one for ever - my mum had one! – My mum had one so have grown up with one being used for everything and all the attachments are just what u need when u have a busy family life. Makes life a lot easier and healthier and fun making your own food. With attachments is just what the cooks of the house needs. Not heavy and not noisy like they used to be.

Best Mixer! – My mum had a Kenwood mixer ever since I could remember and it is still working perfectly after 30+ years so when I moved out I bought the Kenwood Chef KM300 and couldn't be happier with it! I haven't bought any additional attachments to it but it's an added bonus that it is available. Easy to use. None at the moment.

Not all it claims to be – Love that my Kenwood whips the most perfect pavlovas and angel food cakes. Butter cakes are a breeze as well and my Kenwood frees me up in the kitchen as I can get on with other things while the Kenwood does its job. Very happy with that. Cake mixing is a breeze and effortless and I make a cake once a week for my old mother. I am yet to use… Read more

the mincer which was included in the box when I purchased my Kenwood and am looking forward to this as I remember how easy it was when using the mincer on a Kenwood I owned many years ago. I recently purchased a sausage making book and am keen to try out the recipes on my Kenwood.

Since I primarily purchased the Kenwood so that I could make bread dough and other yeast doughs, I was hugely disappointed when using the dough hook. I wanted to avoid getting a bread maker but my Kenwood is not up to the task of mixing dough thoroughly. When mixing some bread dough (3 cups of flour only) I had to watch my Kenwood constantly as the mixer kept moving around on the bench and eventually fell off (it's a very big and wide bench) in the five minutes i wasn't watching it. Thankfully it seemed not to suffer an damage in the fall, however I won't be using it for bread-making again. Time-saving mixer when making cakes. Love that you can buy attachments and am looking to purchase more of these. Extremely noisy in operation - quite unbearable really. Moves around on bench when using dough hook.

Excellent – Whisk's eggs to perfection for sponges and meringue, have not used the dough hook. Love the stainless bowl it came with although i have since purchased another as you do need 2 if you bake a lot like i do. If you make a larger cake then the K beater creams butter and sugar perfectly. I love this machine and use it constantly and have had no… Read more

problems with it at all. Mine is the KM320 but classed as the KM300 series.... Love it Great looking Machine, it is sturdy and easy to use. Beaters are easy to change and the whole thing is easy to clean. The k beater does not mix too well with only a small amount in it, you have to scrape the sides a few times but its no problem. When making a large cake it mixes perfectly. No other cons to mention apart from the fact that the extras like new bowls are a bit expensive.

Excellent – A good, solid mixer available at a very competitive price if you shop around. If you can buy it with the mincing attachment, I'd suggest you do so as you'll find that you will use it. This is my first new mixer in over 35 years, having previously owned a Kenwood Cheffette (a mini-version Kenwood). What a terrific mixer. I did look at the… Read more

Kitchenaid, but decided against it because of its price (about double that of the Kenwood) and its weight which would have meant I had to keep it permanently on the counter. The Kenwood is only about half the weight of the Kitchenaid, (so you can store it in a cupboard) but is still a very sturdy and versatile machine. Mine came with stainless steel bowl, a mincing attachment, a free slow cooker (via redemption) and at a very competitive price. I guess there are some advantages to the economic downturn with electrical appliances selling at rock-bottom prices!

The mixer works very well. I have used all three hooks and found they all perform well. The balloon whisk makes perfect meringues and whips cream beautifully and the dough hook does the job it is designed to do. I used to do biscuit mix by hand, but not any more as the K-beater creams butter and sugar effortlessly and the variable speed means that you can easily control how fast or slowly you want to mix. The mixer hook is also adjustable so if you find it is not getting right to the bottom of the bowl, you can adjust it to within a millimetre or so (which I have not as yet had to do.)

I have also used the mincing attachment a number of times and it makes terrific fat-free mince. Unlike the stuff you buy in the butchers or supermarket, you control the amount of fat you add to the mince as well as the coarseness or fineness of your mince, so if you like mince, but don't like the commercial stuff, you can create your own five star mince at a price way below what you pay in the shops. I haven't yet tried the sausage maker, but I have no doubt it will work as well as the rest of the machine.

There are innumerable attachments you can buy if you feel so inclined, so if you're starting out afresh, you can purchase this machine with various attachments to give you a complete food processing centre. If this machine lasts as long as my previous one, I will be very well satisfied! A bit noisy. Attachments are somewhat pricey and an extra bowl would have been useful.
