Great Non-Slip Hotplate But Which has a Couple of Issues – I bought this hotplate to fit onto my Companion Double Burner, it comes in a very handy carry bag which also fits inside the double burner bag for… Read more

easy stowage. In use the hotplate works well and the non-stick coating is excellent and hard wearing. I primarily use this for cooking breakfast but the hotplate can be used to cook many things and it heats evenly.

Drawbacks - the hotplate cooks food well and has plenty of space, it heats evenly but only if you are on a level surface. Any slight incline and the food slides around all over the place and all gathers in the lowest corner. Also, the hotplate can move on the stove and needs a raised bit so it stays in place. The sides (lip) are a little low and I burned my knee due to hot fat splashing out and over the low sides which would not have happened if it had been a little higher. It is a little expensive for what it is but it does work well and cooks evenly and you can use it with one stove burner turned off which gives you a warm area to move cooked food onto to keep warm.

In summary, the hot plate works well if you are on an even surface but is a challenge on any incline, the hotplate needs some retaining ridges on the base to stop it sliding around on the burners and if the gas cylinder goes off the edge of the table you can lose a whole meal in one go. But, on level ground it works well.
