Excellent Upgrade – I previously had a Westinghouse WFEP914SB which I already enjoyed, but wanted to move away from the gas cooktop to induction for a few reasons like… Read more

ease of cleaning, no burning of gas in the house and being able to use our own stored solar energy to cook.

I had my reserves as the oven to me looked identical other than the cooktop but I couldn't be more wrong. The difference in build between Westinghouse (already a great product) and the Electrolux is staggering. The oven is almost silent in operation and has a lot more fit and finish features such as ramping the fans down when you open the oven door to not waste as much heat. The extra features like the temperature probe, fast warmup, quick preset settings, child lock door, extra modes like dough proofing and air fry trays made it a well worthy upgrade even for just the oven.

The touch screen interface is very good and for the most part responsive, however I have had issues with the child lock not turning off correctly and needing to close and reopen the screen. You must select the letters E, O and U in correct alphabetical order and even after doing so the mode does not release, you must X out and do it again.

The induction cooktop, the part that I was really after is quite good. I wish it had some extra features like a visual LED intensity ring around the burners (e.g. fake gas) and it is missing Chef mode which the higher end individual models have, but it nevertheless fulfills its job. It is very quiet even on some pans I own that screech on cheaper induction cooktops and the temperature regulation and stability is good enough for simmering or controlled cooking of all kinds of items.

Cheaper induction tops tend to cycle on and off resulting in very unpredictable cooking but I have been able to get all my tricky cooking done so far with this one. Water boils extremely fast, and pans come to cooking temperature very quickly and the response time to lowering the temperature is very good. Can make gravy without the bottom burning while the top does nothing.

Cleaning of the cooktop and oven so far is quite easy, much easier than dealing with the gas cooktop with all the individual pieces that need to be cleaned after cooking.

All in all it was a worthy upgrade and I am happy with the results
