sets this mulcher apart from the cheap knockoffs. Secondly, because Masport is a NZ company spare parts are easy to obtain for the future. The Loncin motor starts first time every time, and is quite economical to run. The loop handle for positioning the mulcher is very easy to use and a much better design than individual handles on each side because it enables one handed use where necessary. The price is very competitive, and is actually far better value than the cheap copies which are a similar price. The wheels are not pneumatic but solid tyres which is a good thing as the pump up tyres on a previous mulcher copied from this basic design were constantly needing attention. After using this mulcher since April last year I can say it has fully lived up to my expectations. I chose this particular machine because it has a side chute for thicker sticks and branches which also produce kindling and small wood for starting the fire, since we live on a rural property. The Hansa mulcher mulches everything through the one chute which, while it is a very solid long lasting item, equally as good as the Masport, isn't as good for our needs but only in that regard. I was constantly having to repair a cheap copy of this mulcher (which Ive had for ten years until it was obvious its life was over) because of its inferior construction and thought they were all like that, but am pleased to see that this mulcher is in a completely different class.
