Perfect daily commute – The most versatile scooter in the market for sure. Enough power to go to the M1 at 110kph and then turning off your exit for a really comfy 80kph max… Read more
ride to your work. As it is does have flat floor, you can accommodate both feet on it and your work clothes won't get dirty at all unless it is raining. Very good on fuel around 40km/l. Easy to maintain and it is still a low cost scooter to service even though it is an Aprilia. However, service costs go astronomically higher if you go for the 500cc or 750cc. Lots of extra technology there as well as lots of Tupperwares to remove to get access to the parts.
Quality Commuter – Had my 2014 SR MT 50 for most of 2015, gotta say it was flawless. I had a performance exhaust, 19mm Dell'Orto carby and heavy clutch springs fitted… Read more
by The Scooter Shop from new. Went all day every day at speeds up to 70-75khr with minimal power lag up hills and very comfortable to ride. By far the most reliable, comfortable and powerful commuter scooter in the air cooled 50cc class (though if you want performance, you want the SR50R liquid cooled or maybe a SYM Jet, if you don't mind paying the almost $1000 extra). The 14" wheels (compared to the 13" on the Typhoon) make a huge difference on rougher roads. The brakes being the same as the SR MT 125 are excellent, I had to dive on them a few times thanks to ignorant drivers, very good stopping power. Not the cheapest 50cc out there but definitely best value for the money in my opinion.
Big Smoothy – Just picked up my 2002 Caponord Love it. The engine is fantastic , plenty of grunt and likes to rev out a bit too.It plays a nice tune with a set… Read more
of Staintune pipes as well. Sounds like a V twin should.
Reading other reviews I had the Aprilia HD fork springs fitted before I picked the bike up. This improves braking ( less dive ) and Improved already good handeling.
Comfort is good for rider and pillion.
If your looking for a comfortable bike that can bring a smile in the twisties and cope with poor roads have a good look at the Caponord.
1 year down the track and I still love my Capo.
Just loaded a new fuel map ( free go to Aprilia Fi Forum) and its amazing. 450km from a tank and more power.
There are a few things that need to be done to make the Caponord reliable ( see the forum) and you have a powerful sweet handling adventure tourer that sounds a treet Engine, comfort Soft front forks ( simple cheap fix with the Aprilia HD springs)
Grin factor + – After 4 years without a bike I started my hunt for a new bike. For the past 6 years I had thought that the CBR1000RR was the only bike for me. Coming… Read more
off my 1996 GSXR600 SRAD that was described as a bike that "does not suffer fools gladly" I was excited to ride a bike with 67% more power. What a let down. The bike was SO well sorted that it really was boring. I felt like you would sit on it and suddenly you would arrive at your destination. When I finally took the Aprilia for a ride my world changed. I hopped off the bike and my hands were shaking. My heart pounding and my head hot from concentration. The beauty of the design is a pleasure to look at and I have to wonder why I dont see more of these on the road. Gucci spec as standard with an Ohliens shock and steering damper. Oz forged wheels. More carbon than you can wave a stick at. Smooooth power delivery with a punch up top. Fit and finish top notch the swapping of the indicator and horn standard means lots of beeping when you are getting used to it. standard pipes are very quiet... serves a purpose but I would rather some LOUD!
