already own two other brands (a commercial one and a domestic one). Pressing the centre dial as per instructions turns the unit on, displaying chinese writing; you then have to press the right hand icon, as per instructions, to access the cooker's menu of cooking options.

Turning the knob one advance, sets the cooker to Hotpot mode; advance the knob again and it sets the cooker to Steam and Boil. Each advance of the knob corresponds to the numbers in the English version of the manual.

When the cooker is set to a menu item you can adjust power setting by rotating the dial and change the timer after pressing the left hand icon.

This is the strange part about this cooker: Back to when you turn the cooker on. Before you press the right hand icon, you can turn the knob to adjust the power level. The strange part: even when I turned the knob to maximum power (99) I couldn't get water to boil. When I set the menu to boil or simmer the water boils a lot quicker than either of my other two portable induction cookers.

As others have stated in reviews, the cooker does maintain constant power so things do simmer. My other Induction Cookers cycles power on and off so it boils and stops, boils and stops.

The Xiaomi DCL01CM simmering function is why I bought the cooker, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how versatile this cooker is.

So I stick with the menus and adjust time and power as to suit my needs.

So far I have had no issues with the supplied adapter plug.
