I’m using the Carbonator 3 for a bit more than a year. Works very good, simple operation with consistent results. And the design is just amazing. Love it! Show details
Poor quality and Aarke does not stand by their product – I am so sick of businesses that don't stand by their products and treat consumers like idiots. My expensive Aarke broke 1 month outside of warranty and they have refused to replace. I have a 5 year Soda Stream that still works and i have gone back to that. ACCC advise that event though the product was one month outside warranty i had a reasonable… Read more
expectation is would last longer and it should be replaced. Emailed Aarke again and they haven't responses. DO NOT buy their products.
Great carbonator – Bought this after a soda king, soda stream and the horrible phillips go-zero. All three failed within 9 months. The Aarke looks great, works great and creates lots of bubbles! Never so much carbonation from the other brands. So easy to set up and operate, instructions were good. You can carbonate as much or as little as suits. I like lots of… Read more
bubbles, and this awesome looking unit delivers with only 2 pumps of the handle. Black chrome finish (all metal, not cheap plastic) looks great. If it dies on me, like all the other brands I have owned, I will update this review. But going by the quality I see and feel I don't think it will.
Even one pump is sufficient – 1) Easy to setup - just finger tight for the gas canister. Don't need full grip tight! 2) Use cold water! Room temp water works BUT cold water works best. You want to drink cold sparkling water anyway, so chill your water before you gas them. 3) Pull lever down until you hear a buzz. It's a loud alarm clock buzz, not the gas fizzing buzz. AFTER you hear that buzz.
Side Note: Takes a bottle or two to find your right amount of gas. Go backwards. Go 2 pumps (WITH THE BUZZ), then on the next bottle just do 1 pump. Have someone try the drink WITHOUT knowing how many pumps you made. Sometimes just watching will make you think more pumps = better fizz. not always true. If 1 pump tastes just as good, don't waste your gas always going for 3 pumps.
Kids loves the fizz even if it was just one pump. They couldn't tell the difference.
ALWAYS PUMP UNTIL YOU HEAR THE BUZZ!
OK carbonator, awful bottles – Don't buy the bottles! $25 each, bought three, the bottom has fallen off all of them. The end of the bottle is rounded, and once the bottom comes off it is unusable. Complete rip-off for the equivalent of an empty mineral water bottle with a glued-on metal base. Also, using single-shot carbonation, I've never got anywhere near the projected number of bottles. Usually get 25-30 per tank. Show details
Great Unit just don’t buy their pet bottles – I bought this unit August 2020 and although the sparking water maker itself is (expensive but) great, their PET bottles are a fizzer! We bought two extra bottles at the time $24.95 each plus the one that came with the unit and all three chrome bottoms have fallen off. And they wont replace them. They know there is a problem with their bottles… Read more
because they have since changed the design. What’s more, Harvey Norman said it’s common for people to return them but Aarke don’t accept them so they offered to glue them back together. Can you believe that!! So forget all the crap about “premium materials” and “well-designed, made-to-last” that’s on their website, because as far as they are concerned, you can kiss your aarke when it comes to honouring their commitment to “quality that lasts”.
Quality - you have to pay for it – Had the Sodastream source and failed after only 3 years. Wasn't going to buy a sodastream that has no parts to fix their product. I've purchased this machine and it looks great and works better than the Sodastream. Does not blow water everywhere. Yes it is expensive, but it looks great in the kitchen and works even better. Beautiful but just didn’t work – My stainless steel Aarke 3 failed to carbonate consistently although I followed instructions, watched videos online, tightened the canister as far as I could and even in desperation tried another canister, also in as tight as I could hand tighten it. I took it back and got a replacement, which was good the first time and then behaved in exactly… Read more
the same way as the first. Just wouldn’t carbonate, even to the point on no gas at all coming out when I pressed the lever. My daughter has an Aarke 2 which has always worked perfectly so I knew what they should be doing. Sadly, I took the second one back and used some of the refund to buy a Sodastream Spirit One Touch. It’s plastic, needs electricity, and is nowhere near as elegant as the Aarke but it fizzes water. Harvey Norman Ballarat gave great customer service.
- +1
Classy carbonator with solid build – Purchased this brand carbonator after the cheap plastic Sodastream Spirit model, we had, failed miserably. We are very keen to reduce our households waste and love carbonated water. So switched to a quality machine rather than get another short life, plastic machine. Love the all steel build of the Aarke should last much longer than a plastic… Read more
build machine. Bottle screws in rather than the silly clamp mechanism of the Sodastream Spirit. Easy to use and produces bubbles as it should. Will see after a few gas bottles how many we get and update. So far so good. Can only give 4 stars as the RRP is just too steep.
Update- Had this now for 4 years and still going. My only quibble is it's tendency to build up water in tray and in casing. Just need to ensure water level is spot on to avoid. Currently purchasing bulk cylinder and bottle adapter hose to further reduce ongoing expenses and move away from the unethical Sodastream mini cylinders. Will update after connecting.
2nd Update- Have now converted the Aarke to accept high volume CO2 cylinder. Freed myself from the unethical Sodastream company and also paying less for gas.
