AEG 3.0HP 60L Silenced Air Compressor AC3060S

I have had no issues with my compressor. Admittedly, I've not over-worked it and to be fair, I don't doubt the one star reviews here as they appear genuine and its disappointing that AEG isn't interested in resolving their concerns. You would think if you are paying 1k for a compressor, you would receive a top quality product. If I had seen these negative reviews.. I probably would have chosen another brand, but would it have been any better? Show details

Not serviceable/ no parts – It was a good compressor and worked well for 18 months; nice and quiet. After around 18 months, it stopped being able to keep up and kept running out of air. Opened it to find three of the four reed valves broken in the compressor head. I have no issue with that as it "should be a serviceable item " (my 30-year-old compressor needed new valves… Read more

every 4-5 years). I called and emailed AEG; apparently, you can't get replacement valves, and I would need to replace both compressor assemblies. (motor, pistons head and all)

Excellent – Very quiet, very quick to fill can't fault it at all. I use it to sandblast my art glass and it works as well as any other kind I've used. It's perfect for what I want. Show details

Bad Pressure switch and motor stalls – Bought this morning, managed to get it together easily enough. Ran to expected 140psi. But as soon as it switches off, the pressure switch leaks faster than an airgun and when it hits 100psi, the motors attempt to runm but stall and wont get enough current to start until the tank is less than 20psi. 2 Year update: Am on my 3rd air compressor after #2 developed a short in the motor in 4 months. The compressor was replaced with a new one. #3 has lasted 18 months before it too, has given up with an almighty bang. Once again, motor developed a short. I didn't register for the extended warranty (3 years) and was only given the first year. This one is destined for the bin.

Does exactly what it says it does – Bought the 50L model a year and a half back, still works like new. Ive bought many compressors in my day and none have lasted this long for the work we do. Show details

Excellent quality unit – I recently purchased the AEG 60 litre 3hp air compressor, initial thoughts its packaged well upon opening the unit you'll find 4 airfilters these need to be screwed into each unit, the bolts for the handle, the wheels and bolts for the wheels, the rubber vibration mounts for the front leg these are tapped into section of the foam packaging… Read more

assembly only took 5 - 10 minutes it is heavy 76 kg so probably best to get assistance to put wheels on and vibration mounts under the front leg, I plugged it in and turned it on with my decibel meter I was reading 74 DB at 1.5 meters it is very quite compared to my old belt drive machine which use to reach about 100db. It took 2 minutes 30 seconds from cold start up to fill the tank and shut down which I thought was fairly quick, the build quality appears to be top notch I went over the unit after testing it, nothing was loose the tyres appear to be filled with hard rubber compound so no more flat tyres it runs my 3/4 rattle gun, 250 litre sandblasting cabinet and other various air tools with no problem at all, I have no hesitation in recommending this unit for any serious diy people or small workshop. I started it up 6am filled tank went back about 7.30 pm and hadn't lost any pressure, while I was in workshop I never heard it cycle once during the day so holds air well.
