There are much better mowers on the market for the price! Batteries are expensive and hard to find replacements. Build quality is below average. Power is well below a petrol mower Only positive that I can think of is it’s quite Show details

Good mower but – Great mower but after having owned one for a few years I have noticed the batteries are very hard to get out (and the handles snap off the batteries easily trying to slice your fingers apart at the same time). The handle is very light weight steel and has needed to be welded back together after it cracked near the height adjusting pins. It is… Read more

very difficult to get blades for them with Bunnings almost always living up to their usual unhelpful standard (why they don't stock them is a mystery).

Overall they are a very capable mower but a little attention to the few small issues would make them a great mower.

Having them stocked somewhere other than Bunnings would also be great.

Poor Product Support – I have a mower, line trimmer, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, blower all in the AEG 58v range. I cannot fault their performance, but I find it incredible that such a reputable company has such poor after market and after sales support. I can’t get another battery for love nor money. I can’t find parts for the mower, chainsaw. $2,000 + spent and no… Read more

support when you contact them. Appalling! I’d like to gather other dissatisfied customers’ products and make a giant sculpture to warn everyone against this apathetic company.

Returned for repair and AEG support is embarrassingly poor – Just returned mine for repair via Bunnings. 3yrs and 3months after purchase. Handle has split where the quick release pin passes through the handle. What mower breaks its handle???? Deck has also started to split in the same place on both sides behind the front wheels. Where the bottom lip transitions from rolled up edge to straight edge to… Read more

attach the front section of the mower. Basic engineering fail here.

Bunnings staff were just processing the return but let me know there are none of the 58V mowers available and haven't been for some time, so no idea how long it will take for a repair. I will be pretty cross if it comes back welded up as it will only break next to the welds. Besides with such poor engineering it's going to break again.

I used this for a 235m2 yard, domestic use only on flat yard and 12degree inclined nature strip. Sadly I own also the Mower, blower, line trimmer, chainsaw because I STUPIDLY though AEG is a dependable and well sorted brand.

So far all I have back from AEG is the canned warranty emails and one saying we see that it's on the way to the repair depot, will update you when we know......

Dont bother buying this (nor I daresay any AEG product) except their hand tools (I guess). The AEG foray into garden products is less than amateur and they should be removed from sale as wont last the 6years online registration warranty period. You will need to replace all the batteries inside 4 years and its likely that AEG will stop support soon as warranty is over. I recon to sell the all off now before you get stuck with them as landfill.

My last 2-stroke ROVER lasted more than +20years only replacing the spark plug on 3 occasions. This AEG mower has broken in the steel in 3 places in 3 years.

0/10

Best push mower ever – We have a bunch of 58V AEG products like the Blower, Chainsaw and Whipper Snipper, so it was only logical to purchase the push mower after some reviews online. We now had it for 3 years, and it never let us down, cutting our Buffalo (Palmetto) lawn easily. The power is amazing and it never failed. Love it. Show details

Disappointing experience – I bought this mower at $800. I thought this price would provide a good and reliable quality mower. However, only after two years, it broken down. It keeping on cutting off. Took it back to Bunnings. I was told I could swap a new one If I bought another brand. For this brand, repairs only. I was told it could take up six weeks to get it repaired. My petrol mower lasted for 12 years without any issues. Will never buy an electrical mower again. Show details

Not Impressed – Have had this mower a couple of yrs. The bottom of the deck is lower than the blade, so you can never get a short cut. With the deck being low, when the height setting is at it's lowest, the deck constantly hits the ground making it virtually impossible to use the mower on anything other than a perfectly level lawn tennis court. As I've… Read more

said, I've had it a couple of yrs. I'm now starting to hear the main bearing rumble, but there is no way of lubricating it. The batteries are difficult to get out of the mower. The link is also very difficult to get out.

Absolute waste of money.

Over-priced toy – The unit has little power and simply will not pick up cut grass. I could have bought a Honda petrol unit for what I paid for this ..I am extremely disappointed with it. Show details

Not so great – Please read all of this, Bunnings Tamworth have stopped selling all the AEG lawnmowers & weedeaters, not sure if that applies to all stores. A 4 month period of being pretty happy during drought times although lots of dust & dry lawn clippings blown everywhere. Had rain, lawn started growing used the mower more. Struck a dog bone in the grass, it… Read more

went through the plastic side shute, (why wasn't it metal like the base?) my fault put an aluminium plate on it a a temporary fix until I buy the new part. A couple of uses later the grass was not cut evenly & I was going over it to try to get it level. Gave up, put the mower on our back veranda & it was 40mm lower at the front. It was cutting a dip in the grass, short in the middle, high on each side. The adjustment rod to the front wheels was too weak, added a simple straight rod & got it level, was like new again. Part of the left battery holder broke (or was like it from new & not noticed?), only used right holder after noticing it. No the mower has been looked after, not dropped or bashed into something. Yesterday, hard to push & a noise coming from left rear wheel - weld broke on the adjustment connection to that wheel. Went into Bunnings today, noticed no AEG lawn stuff there which 'panicked' me (what thu?), went to info counter, " not carrying AEG any more", told them my story, will receive a call from a supervisor tomorrow to see what happens. Bought the weedeater as a skin, so if I loose the lawnmower (bought as a kit) the weedeater will be no good to me without a charger & battery, although it has a high pitched squeal in it, but I bet it wont squeal when I need it to. I've got my fingers crossed that it may all work out. The catcher is a good size & if the equipment worked OK but no longevity, mower purchased Feb 19, weedeater Aug 19.

Quiet and smooth – Purchased from Bunnings in August 2019, it’s fantastic so much better then a petrol mower. Major likes are the easy on/ off, being able to hear my phone ring, no need for ear protection. Comes with 2 batteries, on my typical suburban block, 1 battery is enough. My only dislike like is it’s manufactured in China Show details

Very poor quality control from AEG – First unit had a faulty battery charger, second unit had an issue with the height adjustment. Returning today to Bunnings for a full refund. Very poor quality control, not what I expected from a brand name like AEG and one of the more expensive electric mowers on the market. Show details

Beware date of manufacture if buying the mower skin – Almost purchased the 58v mower skin, as I already have the line trimmer & blower (which I'm very happy with). But the only skins I could find were from 2016 (last four digits of the serial number). According to reviews, these original mowers have a deck that sits much lower than the blade & is therefore hard to push through grass. Plus the lower… Read more

cutting heights are pretty much useless. Newer mowers (2018 & 2019) have a different deck design that allows much better functionality. Check the display versions next time you're in store. The 58V mower kits (with batteries & charger) have the new design, but AEG are not supplying skins in this design (I asked AEG directly), probably until the old stock has been sold off to unsuspecting buyers. Happy to amend my review when I can buy the new skin.....

Great mower battery no petrol or pull start – No need for petrol here...Mow our 25 metre square total lawns three times on one charge. Just push a button and off she goes. Good purchase for us. Well worth the cost
