Can you tell me how to change my dry language to english
hi i purchased a 8 klo dryer and don't know why my clothes don't all come out dry? and take for ever to dry,, my email is n_fico@hotmail.com thanks look forward to hearing from you
Hi Nancy, we found that there are two components to this problem. Both can be found in the instruction manual (how to change settings) the first one relates to the drying cycle you choose...if you select "cottons - extra dry" (right side - top selection) that is half the battle won.
The other relates to the moisture content detection settings, you will need to change them to the highest setting. I am at work and do not have the user manual with me. But you can certainly find how to in there. Since we applied both these, we have had no issues. Go through the troubleshooting part of your user manual and it will take you to the right page.
AEG could have made this more clear in their manual and advised upfront.
Drying does take longer than a conventional heat element dryer, but the AEG is gentler on your clothes and uses less electricity ... that said, if you did a time to energy usage comparison, I am not so sure that there are any great savings on electricity.
Thank you I will look into that .. thanks for a quick reply much appreciated. Nancy
Hi Nancy, I am sorry I did not give you all the information you need. My wife and I were discussing this issue again today and she reminded me that when she does small loads not even the settings I recommended work. . . but . . . AEG customer care advised us to use Manual Dry in this case ... you can select Manual Dry and dry in increments of 10- minutes for each time you press the button i.e. 3 times = 30 minutes. We have had no issues whatsoever since doing all that I have suggested in both my responses.
Can you tell me how reset the dry to English please

I live in Sydney. Where can I buy an AEG T96690IH? And what should I expect to pay? I currently own a Bosch Maxx Sensitive Condensor Dryer but my wife wants to get rid of it because every couple of months I have clean out the sump where the water collects and mixes with lint and stops the machine from drying. On this AEG T96690IH, do you ever have to clean a sump out? Or just the filter and condensor? I intend to drain the water into a sink.
Hi Graeme, I buy at Winnings which has many locations - price depends on what sales are around at the time. I have a miele dryer which is hooked up to drain automatically. AEG normally gives a 5 year warranty but Miele has a 2 year with additional warranty protection on offer for extra money.
Hi Graeme .. I do not know where to find AEG appliances in Sydney .. I got mine from HN Melbourne. With this dryer all I needed to do is to clean the two lint filters. it is best to clean the most external filter after every drying cycle... it takes approximately 30 seconds to clean and put it back. I used to clean the internal filter every 10th cycle, which takes approximately 2 minutes :-) No tools required.
Also you need to keep in mind at the end of each drying cycle you will have to empty the water collected shelf type container. Its simple as pulling out a drawer and putting it back in. Alternatively you can connect the supplied tube to drain all water in to your sink or drainer underneath your laundry sink. If you do that, you don't need to empty the water container after each cycle. Tubes and connectors were provided.
Yes as Kim stated they provide 5 year warranty for the little extra money you pay over other brands.
Even after a year, I'm still happy with this dryer and got nothing to complain.
Good luck.
Hi Graeme, I dont know if you have already purchased this. I am going to purchase this and found both winnings and Harvey Norman have these in stock in different locations in Sydney.
Why is dryer taking so long to dry?
The condenser was broken it turns out. Aeg was very good about issuing a refund and I bought a Miele dryer. But then bought a 10 kg Aeg washing machine with 5 yr warranty.

Hi there for those who still have this dryer are you still happy with it? Any new pro's or con's you have come across in that time?
Hi there, I've been using this for approximately a year with two kids at home which involves lot of washing and drying. Unit is working seamlessly since day one. I have been cleaning the filters every other drying cycle and water container after every drying cycle as it becomes full.
Recently I have attached the supplied tube directly on to the laundry drainage where I don’t have to bother about emptying the water container.
I have no complaints at all. Actually never expected such perfect performance from a dryer. Cloths are not over heated which lead to colour changes nor damaged. Dries perfectly every cycle. I have tried several programs already and depending on the humidity level, sometimes program ends early and cloths are perfectly dried.
Electricity usage must be minimum with heat pump technology as I haven’t experienced any spike in the bill as well.
So far it’s doing the job perfectly and I have all good stories about it :-) I have paid a premium price for the unit, but worth every $.
Good luck.
Hi Malinda, Thank you so much for your reply! Great to hear it is still going strong I love this website it helps out so much. I can get a decent price on this unit and washer and thinking of getting it. Shame the AEG washer and dryers aren’t German made any more, but I am assuming they have strict quality to meet. Does the dryer reverse tumble when drying or only go the one way?
Cheers,
Hi there, the best dryer we ever had! Have three dogs and wash so many sheets and covers every week and the dryer does amazing to dry all our clothes plus all this doggy stuff. The clothes dried in the dryer feels almost like it was dried on the lines.
Thanks Tom :) so glad the reviews seem positive so far!
Hi ok_jas .. yes it does dryer reverse tumble and I have no worries about wrinkles :-) Mine is made in Germany which was bought last year from HN.
Can anyone share the time it takes to do a load?
A full 9kg load takes around 2 and a half hours. That's jeans or towels. I need to add that even with it taking that long my power bill has gone down almost $200 this 1/4. Everybody else's power bill has gone up and ours went down with a family of 8.
Hi Melissa, we just got the dryer and it seems it's running well over 3hrs each time. What are the setting you selected for your 2.5hrs cycles ?
Yep my Hoover 5 kg dryer on the blink 19 years old. So looking for replacement and need larger as live in Tassie wet cold so use a dryer all the time need running costs too. Hoover is around 40c hr or was before power shot up thank you Julia & Kevin to 28c flat a unit.
So how much a load as see it is 9kg @ 28c per Kwh.

Doing 3 loads a week at 9kg the annual cost to run is around $150. Doing the same amount of drying in your standard 2 and a half stars is over $300 a year.
I am also interested in the hourly running costs?

Hi Belinda it depends how dry you want them which you can choose yourself. I don't really notice how long as I often just put it on when I go to bed. It is a fantastic unit though and I love it! No more hanging washing around the house! And I'm not scared to use it due to the high energy rating.
To AEG official- Why do you need you need someones email address when you could just reply to the question here?
Are you hiding something?
Aeg staff suck: they also can not read and do not get that they are losing customers because of their lack of transparency. Doing 3 loads a week at 9kg the annual cost to run is around $150. Doing the same amount of drying in your standard 2 and a half stars is over $300 a year.
Hi there,
I heard that the average drying time is quite long for this machine. Can someone tell me how long its cycle time is?
Belinda

It would be more helpful to people viewing the site if the answers to questions were provided here. That's the point of the Q&A functionality on the site.
Agreed. Please provide the answer on this site. Thanks
AEG STAFF: please reply to these question so everybody knows about the product. It looks like your hiding something by not sharing details of your product. This has me worried because I get my dryer today. This forum is for shoppers not for sellers to hijack.h

198 kWh if that's what your asking. The element is 900 watts. Hope this helps.
