Aiwa 10.1 AW-BPNY
MPNs: AW-BPNY and AW-SCR1 review
Do not buy for your kids, or anyone in your family for that matter! I bought the “Blue Pony” (AW-BPNY) variant of this tablet for my mum as a Christmas gift in 2024; at first it ran good, but after a couple of months it started glitching out occasionally and at about the 6 month mark needed a factory reset, after that it would just cut out and make the most horrible noises if you used certain apps for too long… I imagine this would absolutely terrorise a child! Now it won’t even turn on.
It always ran quite hot even under light load; taking the flip cover off didn’t help. I suspect all that heat slowly cooked the processor over the space of about 18 months. Battery life was also poor, again, that could have partly been heat related.
The tablet itself is a good idea on paper; it comes with some sort of optional “kids mode” and does look cool, but the execution, build quality and longevity could be a lot better.
