discontinued Aug 2023 – I have two HW601 pumps for servicing appear to be 2010 vintage. 1. Reported bleeds back through the inlet needs a NRV fitted. 2. Pressure test on both braided hoses revealed both hoses have failed, no parts available. 3. I doubt custome will bother to sourse after market braidee hoses.
alko pump's are rubbish – I brought a new alko 6001 and it never worked properly I brought a much better quality one I rang them up and they could not help don't buy one poor quality and poor design
Poor quality product – I purchased a new 601 pump and on installing it found a) The pressure gauge didn't work. On removing and testing it I found it had never worked. No quality control there! b) A non return valve on the inlet is needed for all these pumps or they just drain all the pump pressure back up the inlet and continually cycle up to pressure and down. There is nothing about non return valves on the packaging or in the enclosed instructions. So you are faced with another $30 expenditure just to get the pump to work. When I pointed this out to the store, he was most embarrassed to find the agents just put up a smoke screen of excuses, and didnt stand behind the product. They should all be supplied with a non return valve.. without they are useless.
Suggest buy a better quality product. Nice complete package... I thought!! Pump didn't work as described without modification. Pressure gauge faulty and never worked
My gauge worked fine, but I have suffered the same problem with non-return - I was just doing a last ditch online search before I scrapped it as a bad joke. I think I'll try the valve now. Having said that, it has developed a leak now and I suspect a problem with the seals and/or bladder. A real pity - it promised so much and seems like the complete package, but just doesn't quite make it. Completely agree with your rating.
A pity the Al-Ko rep. hasn't defended his products here. Looks like they don't care. I'll look for another brand.

i think i shared the same technical problem with the otherpeople who bought the same hw 601 pumb.the pressure gauge didnt work.Its bad business.I bought mine in samoa at the Blue Lumber o Ltd,for $950.00 [st] thats an equivalent $475.00 AUS What a waste of moneyVery poor quality product.
