How long should these last - warranty – Bought one of these and it seems right near the 3 year mark perhaps a bit over perhaps a bit under. We aren’t quite sure but the left hand main element died. “Sorry sir do you have a receipt”, even the box is stamped with a date (06/2018) but that’s still not good enough. But my main question is after owning other cooktops which have lasted many… Read more

years, how long should something like this last? In fact the last one after like 10+ years was replaced only because someone cracked the glass. Not happy with the fact something like this fails so early and simply not covered. I note the older model people complaining about the very same issue. Second comment touch controls sometimes annoying; you can lock by accident, you can turn off by accident, etc.

Don't waste your money – We bought the Sterling Cook top and Oven Combo from Aldi - far from impressed with either. The oven works ok for the price, but the white numbers on the setting and temperature dials wore off almost immediately- we now estimate the the temperature and only use the one setting -3 clicks clockwise for cooking. As for the cook top, a complete waste… Read more

of money- the rear cook plates went first followed by the front two not long after - we were using the last cook plate to get by, but it is now shortening out our electricity safety switch every time it is turned on. We have been looking for the receipt, but judging by the comments on here it looks like a waste of time pursuing the service company for a result. I will never buy another electronic product from Aldi, the so called center 'island of dreams' should be renamed 'the island of crap' Ps. we also bought a battery operated vacuum cleaner - which was pretty useless as well considering it hardly sucked!!! It lasted less than 12 months Aldi should be taken to task for selling products that aren't up to standard.

Good stove top while it works but if it fails, can not get it repaired or replaced – Purchased a ceramic stove top from Aldi special buys. It worked for 3 months them one of the main burners failed. Rang the warranty company TEMPO-never again. Would not replace the unit because the one in stock was a different model number even though it was identical to mine. Said they could not find any one to repair it but would refund the… Read more

Not satisfied with after sale service – I purchased one STIRLING Ceramic Cooktop (STR-C) in May 2015. After 3 years, one of 1800W cooking zone doesn't work just out of ALDI 3-year warranty. I suspect that the control box was broken due to frequent on and off of high current. I called Tempo to get some help and they said they cannot help because they don't provide Control Box spare part.… Read more

And they ask me to contact local electrician, you understand what I will expect. Disappointed with ALDI appliances and their service. Don't buy long-last appliance from ALDI. Learn lesson from me, not yourself.

Cleaning nightmare – Have had this cook top in for a month. Right from the first useage the glass was marked. I did everything it says about cleaning, ie scraping, then wiping and using the ceramic cooktop cleaner. Still it marks even if you dont spill anything. constant cleaning, and still shows all the marks.

Good featured cheap ceramic cooktop – Cook top with a top name German made Stott Ceram glass surface at a cheap price The 3 year warranty makes this a good buy and it looks good in any kitchen. The use of touch sensitivity instead of rotary switches on 4 cooking areas makes easy cleaning of a completely flat surface. The 59cm surface is fully sealed underneath for installation in any bench surface. No issues since purchase for a very reasonable $229 under a year ago.

A cheap Ceramic cooktop – Purchased this from aldi under a year ago.at $229 The German Stott ceram glass top add good value and a neat flat surface where the controls are touch rather than the normal rotary switches used in this price grouping. Four cook regions make use of the 59cm square top ideal in a small space.3 year warranty is also good value. I cannot see how… Read more

the recognition of a clearly stated in home 3 year warranty can be avoided under australian consumer law.

DO NOT BUY THIS COOKTOP – Mine died after only 4 months of light usage. After contacting Tempo Appliances (distributors of this product) to take them up on their 3 year in-home warranty, I was advised that the cooktop could not be repaired and the best they could do was refund the purchase price. I was also advised that they would not replace the cooktop because it was… Read more

older than 14 days!!! So their 3 year in-home warranty is really only 14 days. I now must buy a replacement (NOT Aldi) and pay an electrician to install it. I will NEVER buy another Aldi appliance product.

Not happy – I've had this cooktop for less than a month, already you can see the saucepan marks with one it has pitted. Spilt a bit of tomato sauce and removed it straight away however the mark will not clean off, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement! I've already written in a complaint and not heard from anyone!

Cooking take almost twice duration compare to old cook top – Performance of cook top heating is terribly bad. It is terribly slow when we compare performance of this ceramic cook top with one we had before which has similar configuration (1800W and 1200W) and installed 10 year back. The heating were much faster.

Good Value Ceramic Cooktop – This Stirling product from Aldi is very neat and presentable. It has Two (2) 1800W and Two 1200W cook plates that heat up very quickly. The ceramic surface is easily cleaned and the unit has a timer function for each cook plate. At $229, this represents great value.
