A terrific freezer – I bought one in 2017 and it is still going strong. It's a mighty little beast but I wish it was frost free. If it were I would give it 5 stars. Show details
Good while it lasts! – bought the white version in december 2021, compressor died in january 2023. Tried contacting Aldi with no luck so went direct to Stirling. They dont know whether to repair or replace, but I would honestly suggest that if you are after a major appliance, that you buy a brand that is known for a better product. Show details

Best brand to buy – I can’t fault this freezer brand I’m 100 % happy use every day full of meats and food I have it 5 stars and worth good reviews all my friends brought the same one Show details
Not the same as the picture on the box and in the catalogue! – The pictures of this freezer (on box and in catalogue) CLEARLY show it as being opened from the left. Hassle getting it from Aldi in the first place and then loads of hassle to get it into place I wanted it for. The damn door does NOT open from that way. The book says it can be changed but it CANNOT. Also got the fridge but will not be opening… Read more
that. Now I have the hassle of returning them both. I'm a single Mum and had to get help getting these in hte first place; now I have to go through the whole hassle again - all for nothing! Aldi's 'best buys' are rubbish!! And Aldi are not bothered about their customers in the slightest!
lasted longer than my last boyfriend – Bought this freezer in September 2010, it died today .. 15th June 2018. Totally surprised it lasted that long. Must have died yesterday - food was still frozen. This freezer lived in the laundry. Now the search starts for a new one .... Shame ALDI dont still make these freezers ... I was happy with it. Show details
Perfect for fish – I bought this 80L upright freezer for the fish we catch. I store it in our garage, it is compact and has 6 draws which are large enough so put several packets of meat or sausages. I like that the draws are clear so you can see what you have in them. It is a 3.5 stars energy rating which was higher than all the others around and it was about $150 cheaper than anywhere else. Pointless purchase – Just bought one after being happy with its previous model. Tried to swap the door opening, as per advertisement, but the screws are so firmly machined in that I'm unable to remove them. Rang customer "service" who said oh, that's a shame. Nothing we can do about it. So I'm stuck which a freezer which can't open in the corner it fits in. Show details
Lasted nearly 4 years. Had a 3 year guarantee. Paid $159-00 for it – I purchased my Stirling 81L Upright Freezer Model No TF-10Q Product No 42930 on 5-9-1013. It stopped working on the 17-8-2017. It lasted nearly 4 years. It had a guarantee for 3 years. I paid $159.00 for it. I was happy with it for the years it worked. I would have liked it to last longer. Show details
I bought this model 7 years ago and still working well – So cheap and well worth the money, been very happy. It can ice up a bit, but just don't overpack. It has survived 3 house moves and replacing with a side by side due to complete kitchen reno. Lots of shelf space. Would highly recommend. Had no problems with it. Show details
Piece of crap – Bought in Oct 2015 from Aldi for $172, died on 12th of Feb. Food all ruined, no wonder they are discontinued saw a freezer being bought back after I bought mine, was hoping I didn't get a lemon and as I am in my 70's going to be hard taking it back.
STIRLING (ALDI) UPRIGHT FREEZER 183 L – I purchased a Stirling upright freezer 183 L on the 12th November 2015. The freezer only lasted 18 days and died. I have made so many phone calls to the tempo service desk for repairs and also I have spoken to the electrician who services the area It has been nearly two months waiting for repairs to be fixed and still waiting who knows which… Read more
year they will service the item. Not only it died but the food was defrosting and lost some of the food in the process.
I will never buy electrical items from ALDI because I reckon they only sell faulty goods. I have purchased other electrical items such as tools and food slicer which they don't work after a month or two as well.
Very HAPPY with freezer! – My old freezer was not de-frosting & I saw this advertised in the catalogue & purchased it a couple of years ago & it is brilliant! It fits into the space perfectly so I am very very happy! I am very happy with all the products I purchase & I would say that I am a fairly savvy purchaser! You go A.LD.I Show reply

Know better, choose better.
For a budget priced freezer it is excellent – Purchased the Stirling 165L freezer second hand via Ebay and its working perfectly. 6 pullout draws to hold all the goods. It operates quietly and unlike other reviews on product review I have yet to experience any over heating or extreme heat issues. I'm pretty sure there are better freezers on the market but for the price its hard to beat. Slim tall budget unit and not overly bulky.
Sterling Upright Freezer - 81L - Aldi – Purchased Sterling 81L Upright Freezer from Aldi for $149 which came with a two year warranty. Freezer now is 2years 9months and just died - stop working which ruined all my meat and other frozen food. Lucky all the liquid stayed in trays otherwise would have ruined my carpet. What a disappointment. I called Aldi today and all they said will be… Read more
the supplier will contact me. I called supplier directly who offered repairs. I do not want to repair it. It would have been alright to get a full refund or replacement. Just heard Aldi does not sell this product anymore. There is no quality with their products. Never ever will I purchase any white goods from them neither would I recommend anyone purchasing any white goods from Aldi. While it worked it was good Just stop working as soon as the warranty period was over.
Great for price – We were initially worried it would be too hot based on previous but have found that with proper space at back and sides it is not too hot. When initially plugged in it was really hot which is likely due to it working hard to initially freeze. 3 year in home warranty is great as well Seals perfectly after we adjusted it with the door attachment at bottom of fridge
Stirling (Aldi) 190 litres upright freezer – I bought one yesterday and it's the worst thing. Door seal is lose, it's noisy and produce lot of heat. Very poor quality product. I am very disappointed with Aldi - they shouldn't sell poor quality products. So far i found Aldi appliances are quite bad - you get what you pay for. Never ever again.... Nothing Lose door seals, noisy, produce lot of heat
Good – We are Happy with it. Just happy to have more storage really! Reasonable price, energy rate isn't great though i think its two stars ( energy). It's not overly big but it will do us for now. There's not much else I can say as its a basic freezer, though I have to write 50 or more words. Works well. Good price. Energy rating not great.
Short-lived! – Brought mine exactly 2 years ago. Not sure what happen but it suddenly stopped working. Glad that the drawers are enclosed so the liquid remained inside not out. Called their service support, got a refund over the phone right away without a fuzz. What a service! Unfortunately I have been told Aldi is no longer selling this model : ( Good… Read more
value for money and reasonably good after sales service Short-lived and a bit noisy to run (or may be just mine?)
Not suitable for small kitchen – I bought the 190L version on the weekend from Aldi as I thought it was a decent buy for the size and price. I am now going to have to return it as I found that due to amount of heat it produces on the sides and back it isn't suitable in my small apartment kitchen. It definitely requires the 15cm on each side and would probably work best if it was… Read more
used outside, which begs the question why buy an upright if you have the space?
I was a little dissapointed that nowhere on the product description does it state how much room it really needs as I was going by the dimensions when planning my purchase. The only place I found reference to it was in the manual after I had already purchased it. Thankfully Aldi are generally very good at refunding on returns.
Too hot to keep in kitchen
Excellent – I have had one of these freezers for about 2 years and have no complaints. It was very affordable compared to other brands and does a great job. Have had no problems with it at all. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a bit of extra freezer space Very reasonably priced, compact - fits under kitchen bench), easy to clean, door can swing… Read more
either way, plastic coated baskets pull out for easy access, clean door - no brand stickers or badges so is quite sleek, adjustable temperature control Not forst free so does have to be defrosted occassionally (especially if you accidently leave the door open a little bit)
Quiet, compact on the outside, spacious on the inside and excellent value for money – Excellent value for money. The top three draws are full length and the bottom drawer is half the length as the compressor sits at the bottom of the unit. The bottom drawer is deeper though so great for the frozen veggies. If you are looking for some extra freezer space in a compact upright freezer then you can't go wrong with this one. With a two… Read more · 5
year warranty and a price tag of just $149, what more could you want? I am very happy with it. If you transport this unit on it's side then ensure you leave it upright for at least two hours prior to turning it on. You will find this requirement in the operating instructions as well. Price, space inside, quick to get to temperature so you can use it a couple of hours after turning it on. The freezer is quieter than I expected. Nothing so far. Very happy with it.
Excellent – Bought Stirling 165L Upright Freezer, model no. DD1-21 yesterday from Aldi for $249. What a bargain! Comes with a 2 year warranty. This model has a 2 star Energy Rating though. I already have another 5 star rating upright freezer, that I bought last year for $569 from The Good Guys, that came with a 1 year factory warranty. Both freezers have 6… Read more
drawers, are the same height and have Thermostat Knob on the front right-hand corner. Other than the Energy Rating, I can't see any difference, except the Stirling was less than half the price of my other upright. Very happy. The price
