It makes the hair shaft fuller but I had noticeably more shedding so I stopped using it. Show details
I’ve been using Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo C1 for a few months now and I’ve definitely noticed less hair fall in the shower. It leaves my scalp feeling fresh and clean without being too harsh. The scent is strong but in a good way it has that menthol-like kick that makes your scalp tingle a bit. It doesn’t magically grow hair, but it does seem to… Read more
strengthen it and slow down shedding. I also noticed my hair feels a bit thicker after regular use. It’s become part of my routine now. Worth trying if you're dealing with early signs of thinning.
Brilliant product used only one week significant signs of no hair loss. Hair is so soft no breakages. I would recommend to people with hair loss and menopausal women. I have an autoimmune disease that attacks Healthy cells so I struggle with hair loss it’s really made a difference to my hair and life Show details
Awesome shampoo – It's really good, I like it so much for the very first time I used it. Thank you
A product that genuinely actually works – I'm a male in his early 50's who prior to using this product had great hair. I've been using Alpecin C1 for 6 + mths because I wanted to ensure my hair STAYED great! What I can say is that I no longer have any hair fallout. Previously if I ran my fingers through my hair the inevitable few strands would appear in my hand. Not anymore. I virtually… Read more · 1
have zero hair loss. Has it made my hair thicker, grow faster? Honestly not sure but I have read that no hair loss is a good thing. So if you at the very least just want to maintain the hair you have, try this product and stick with it. It took a month or 2 for me to see the changes. I'll never go back now! Tim
Works as advertised and had good fregeance – I use this shampoo every day and in my experience, it works as advertised…and better (for me) I was to discover. I noticed no difference to my hair in the first 2-3 months on the thinning top of my scalp & noticeably thinning crown area…but as C1 has a good fragrance, I continued to use it and the Alpicin “Double Effect” & “Hybrid” shampoos… Read more
interchangeably & use one of them every day. I ended up shaving my head during Covid for about 4-5 months during lockdown & continued to use the Alpicin products *as directed*. When I grew out my hair, my partner said she could most definitely see hair regrow at the crown area of my scalp and that my hair on top looked “fuller.” So it took 7-8 months for Alpicin to cause a positive change to my hair. The only challenge is that I take short showers and the Alpicin products need to be in the hair for a minimum of 2 minutes. So, a few minutes before I pop into the shower, I just wet my hair slightly & apply a 50 cent piece sized portion to the areas of interest.
Slow regrowth – I have been bald for about 40 years. I have been using this product now for about 2 years. I used two bottles over about a 6-8 month period with no result, except that my hair seemed cleaner and a bit shinier. Then I started noticing a few short, thin hairs appearing on my scalp and especially around the edge of my existing hairline. This has… Read more
slowly increased (about a dozen hairs per month since then. I never expect to have a full head of hair again, but my hair is thicker and I have increased my hairline by almost a centimetre all-round. Which my hairdresser has noticed.round
Increase rate of hair fall – My partner started using this shampoo, every time as soon as he rinsed it off loads of hair fell out. He had an issue with hair thinning but now he has two bold patches. Do not use this shampoo Show details
Best in the world – This is best shampoo I'd used in my life first of all it stopped my hair loosing and then I found that made my hair very fine and easy to styling. In addition has very good smell that you don't need perfume for your hair but just I am unlucky because I can not find it in Iran anymore. I don't know why but there is alpecine C1 crisis in Iran these days.
Average shampoo – It simply does the job, although I feel like this makes my hair much more heavier and so becomes harder to style. It does have a moderately nice fragrance though.
Didn't notice much difference – Purchased this for my hubby about a month or two ago. He hasn't noticed any change in hair thickness or hair loss. Does the job as a normal shampoo but not too much else unfortunately! The smell is quite nice though. Show details
Great – Has made my hair much thicker and fuller looking. Quite impressed with the shampoo, have been using it every second day but be careful as it can burn of you leave on too long Show details
Great Product – I've used Alpecin products for maybe 8 some years now and continue to use the products at least 6 days a week. Pimples, irritation? Tosh!! My hairbrush has so few hairs in it that it simple to keep clean, unlike before I began with this product. I'm an older Australian so I admit that my hair has been thinning, no question, but the rate of thinning is almost negligible in terms of time...much much sloooower since using Alpecin. No complaints here! Find out how Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo C1 compares to other Hair Loss Treatments
Know better, choose better.
Did nothing! – The adverts are all lies. My husband went through two bottles and no change. Expensive and not worth it.
Causes irritation – I've been using it for a month now, and at first I really liked the product. After a while however, i started feeling irritation under my hair and pimples started to appear. I wouldn't recommend this product.
Crap – all my hair fell out within 3 days. went on a date the day after and guy ran off when he smelled me. would definitely not recommend this product. crap this
Possibly effective – After using this item, I feel as though my hair is thicker and I don't notice hair falling as much. Because the intended effect isn't strikingly obvious, it's hard to critically evaluate its efficacy as being better than placebo. I also suspect its intended use may cause irritation. Ultimately, it isn't too expensive, it functions as a… Read more
masculine fragrenced shampoo, and I feel like my hair is seeing some improvements regarding follicle health. So at its baseline, it's a functional product.
One potential downside is I feel it may irritate my scalp to some extent, and in my case, may have caused dandruff. I don't have sensitive skin. Many shampoos such as this one have synthetic chemicals like sodium laureth sulfate (SLS), which are great at removing oil, however being harsh versus many natural alternatives. When you consider how the directions ask you to leave it on your scalp for two minutes, it would seem possible that the large exposure time amplifies its potential as a skin irritant.
I'd give this 3.5 stars, but will round up because it is a unique item for Australian supermarkets due to its potential hair-strengthening properties. However it's potential as a scalp irritant is concerning.
It's OK – This product has had no impact on my hair fall and but does leave my hair cleaner for a day or so longer. I'll be trying something else to combat me hair loss issue.
A nice shampoo that did nothing to reduce hair losd – Pros: inexpensive and widely available. Lathers up nicely and left my scalp clean and refreshed. Cons: it did nothing to stop my hair thinning. I have since moved on to evolis shampoo and tonic which has reduced my thinning and after 6 months I'm regrowing hair. But its more expensive than alpecin.
A little hair growth – This product and the Alpecin Liquid were introduced to me by a friend. Since using it for the last 1.5 months, I notice my scalp gets oilier faster. I have long hair and usually wash it every second day, but now I can't stand not washing my hair everyday after using this product. My scalp itches if I skip one day without washing my hair. I, sadly… Read more
didn't get the immediate effect like other users. There's still falling hair, maybe a tiny little bit less but that could also due to cleanliness of the scalp now that I have to wash it everyday. Having said that, I do notice a little more growth which is a good sign. I guess if the product helps in growth, it is still a positive thing.
All in all, happy there's a positive outcome for me, even though it's just minor. Will keep using it for couple more months to see the changes.
No hair fall anymore – I have been using it for almost a year and my hair look fuller and thicker. It is a shame that Woolworths took this product of their shelves. Not enough has been don't to market the good quality from this product. It is not expensive at all. I ALSO USE THEIR OIL WHICH IS ANOTHER GREAT PRODUCT. I WILL DEFIMNITELY RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERA.
Remarkable – I bought Alpecin Shampoo to give my hair the noticeably fuller appearance it claimed on TV to provide. But almost immediately, I noticed that hair fall stopped. Previously, using conventional shampoos and conditioners there was always a small build up of hair in the shower drain grate. But now, none. Having read reviews on other websites, mostly… Read more
from the UK, just about everyone commented on the end of hair fall. Quite a lot of people also commented on the growth of new hair. You do not use conditioner on the hair after shampooing, and you need to leave the shampoo on the hair for 2 minutes so that the caffeine can penetrate the hair follicles.
Whilst you do not have to, it is recommended Alpecin Liquid be massaged into the scalp sometime after shampooing. It's concentrated caffeine is able to work all day at a stronger level than the shampoo. The liquid is rather like water, so it is very easy to apply.
I no longer stick my hair down with mouse and spray, and everyone is surprised as to how full my hair now looks. Having fine hair that blows up in the breeze I just apply a very small amount of Loreal Elnett Satin spray, as it's ultra fine spray is invisible.
Another good thing about Alpecin products (made in Germany) is the price. - both products are around $9. I am still using my first bottle of shampoo and Liquid. At least 5 other people at work intend changing to Alpecin, due to their hair fall. Makes hair seem fuller, covers balding areas & stops hair fall extremely fast. Nothing
