Best decision I ever made!!! – I researched like hell when it came to investing in a desktop computer and YES the design of the iMac I couldn't help but stare at. One day my refurbished HP laptop stopped working suddenly and that was it. In June 2009 I decided to go buy the Apple iMac!!! I walked into JB Hifi in Maribyrnong and purchased it and have never looked back. It… Read more

turned 11 years last month, as old as my son. It has never ever failed me, I will not replace it unless it's on its last leg other than that I don't mind that it doesn't update to the latest iOS anymore. It is compatible with everything and still looks like new from the first day that I bought it.

Switching from PC to Mac was the best decision. Apple computers are reliable and with all my additional Apple products I have bought throughout the years it still works like a charm.

Excellent – We just bought our iMac. We are already Mac converts with a MacBook pro and a MacBook in our house - but we just love the new iMac. It is so sleek and easy to use like all things Mac. The big screen is amazing and the flexible stand means you can set it up the way you want it - this is useful if you have limited space and you need to have the… Read more

screen on an angle.

The price tag is a bit higher than for a PC but the value for money, apart from the high quality of the machine, is in the fact that the software is all built in - so you don't need to purchase it as an extra. Love the mini wireless keyboard and the magic mouse - although the latter took me a few days to adjust to after using the trackpads on our laptopss

Should have made the switch years ago – I simply cannot believe how easy an iMac is to use. (or anything Apple for that matter). The quality of build, crispness of the screen, the sheer speed of it is really something else. So impressed, I even bought a MacBook Pro to compliment the iMac. Priced right, fast processing and crisp crisp graphics.

Excellent – I have a 24 inch iMac which is a couple of years old (pre-LED screen). Like most Apple products, it works well, looks great and is a pleasure to use. Forced to use a Dell PC at work, it is always a pleasure to come home and turn on the Mac - stuff gets done (sometimes several things at once) and it (virtually) never crashes. I love the screen,… Read more

processing speed, lack of viruses (touch-wood), new mouse, easy networking, great system updates and functionality and included software which never ceases to amaze me. If I had to criticise anything, it'd have to be the difficulty to pull the damn thing apart. The older white iMac's were so easy to tinker with (in comparison) but these new ones are very tricky to pull apart which locks you into Apple's warranty programme when/if something goes wrong (check out the replacement cost of a DVD burner - insane!). I suppose, it's tricky to make such a slick looking computer work unless you use magnets and glue to hold it together, but it's really a small con - otherwise, it's 10 out of 10 from me!!! Fast, easy to use, fun to use, good value, reliable. Difficult to self-upgrade.

Excellent – I love my iMac! It is a beautiful machine. I have the 20" and the graphics are beautiful, it functions really quickly. I use it a lot for photography and there are some great applications for this sort of work. The iMac comes with some very useful applications and it is a fairly secure machine, you don't really need antivirus for it. The white… Read more

keyboard really shows up the dirt and they keys are hard to clean. The mouse moves a little oddly but it isn't a big problem. Awesome screen and graphics, very sexy design, very compact and takes up very little room, fast, easy to use. Smudges on the screen are hard to get off and the keyboard gets dirty easily.

Excellent – Excellent, I was wary of going over to the Mac as I have been a PC user for years. However it is very easy to use and nearly all the PC stuff I use is Mac compatible and vice versa. Good – A good choice for certain aspects, video and photos. However windows Vista has certain good things as well. screen which maes editing photos and videos enjoyable. All in one design is also a plus. The operating system is quick to boot up and relatively easy to navigate, but it does take a bit to get the full potential. Quick warranty services. I had to get replacement mouse because the scroll ball stopped working for no apparent reason (It was cleaned thoroughly). I didn't like the that every software came with the machine had the trial version feel, because if I wanted to do any extra, then I had to go to apple website to pay for the additional services. Itune and photos duplicates everything which takes up space on the hard drive. Video cable was not compatible with the PC range.

Excellent – I am a Mac convert. This computer is FANTASTIC!!! Though I do recommend getting the Apple protection care, as I purchased the JB Hifi extended warranty and now that the computer needs to be repaired I have discovered that JB's closest repair shop is 3hrs away... couple of pCs and i use a PC at work so i am not anti windows but the mac is much better for a main computer. Huge screen, nice simple wireless mouse and keyboard, no tower, no noise, no viruses, runs just as fast today as it did a year ago when it was new (which is very unlike windows). great phone support, i have loaded all the cds on to it and have my own radio station (yeah i know pc does that to - but not this easily) Takes a bit to get used to. the keyboard uses up the rechargeable batteries (very minor issue) Microsoft excel is wacky and slow on the mac but i haven't looked into that issue, not many games on mac still?? Excellent – I love my mac, so glad I made the switch. keep a pc laptop as my accountant likes me to run MYOB and the mac version, she says isn't very compatible with her stuff.

Once we all got used to using the mac, even my partner has trouble messing things up on it. It is very user friendly. I no longer have to leave post it notes to remind not to "fix" stuff when prompts pop up or not to download updates (which used to mess up my pc).

I will continue to keep a mac as my primary computer at home. beautiful screen colours, once you get used to icons etc very easy to navigate, plug and play, can still use some Windows software by splitting the harddrive to run windows as well, virtually virus proof, have the wireless keyboard that is fantastic, small and cool to type on. wireless mouse is a bit all over the place for my liking, unreliable link. Making the conversion to Mac is a big step and that includes getting all new software, which is not cheap. However I was running XP so upgrading all that software to 7 would've been just as annoying.

had done buying a Mac....But, I am soooo glad I stuck to it as after I learned how to use it, it is the best computer I have ever owned. I will never go back to windows again for my main computer. I do have a windows laptop for things for my daughter for schoolwork as sometimes she has difficulty swapping from the computers from school being windows and then coming home and putting her stuff on the Mac, it isnt compatible. So I have that laptop for Windows just for her, but I will never go back to windows now. It's like going from and Iphone to another mobile, once you had one you will never go back. So basically if you can stick out the frustration of learning a whole new system, which took me about a month to adapt properly, then it will be the best decision you ever made to change to Imac. It's stylish, easy to set up and move around with it's all in built in the screen. So easy to use once you get used to it. Haven't had a virus scanner on this since I had it and no viruses ever! Big screens. Sometimes can be annoying when sending emails and certain things won't open up as it is not compatible with windows stuff and reverse. Trying to download certain programs and trying to find a mac compatible although there has never been a problem finding one eventually.

quality suite of iLife software included - for managing photos, music, etc.. in a truely integrated way that works so well with your other Apple produces. With the exception of the included mouse, this is my dream computer. Has to be the sexiest computer ever made. Has a great space saving design - rids all the clutter off my desk. Super performance, beautiful big clear screen. I have the 20" 2.66Ghz model and can't fault it. The mail, contacts, calender, photos and bookmarks also integrate seamlessly with my iPhone - unlike Windows PCs. The included mighty mouse lets this otherwise perfect computer down. After a couple of months the scroll wheel on the mouse became unusable. There are ways to clean it but I think the mouse wheel is a bad design overall and not pleasant to use.
