The beast that wont die – I got my green 2nd gen nano ipod 4gb From my bestie from high school. she bought it when it came out. 2 yrs later she sold it to me. 2 years later it is still working great and I am giving it to my little (11yrs old) sister. I only used it for music as I don't watch videos on small screens. It has great sound with good quality earphones (I love… Read more

skullcandy) I find it holds a good charge for the amount I use the machine (roughly bus travel time 1-3 hrs a day last a few days.) long battery, durable, light weight, cute colour

Good – Overall this is a great music player which is cheap but strong. If you just want to play music and hate the idea of owning a shuffle (personally i hate the idea) then go buy a second hand ipod nano. This is compact music playing revolution, the majority of the nanos sold had a 4 gigabyte memory which allows for a lot of songs. The thin body allows… Read more

for easy storage. It used to cost about $220 to get one of these new but now you can pick up a second hand one, barely used for $20 to $25. This Ipod had a few good games, solitaire, parachute, music quiz and brick (none of which get close to ipod touch games) which are alright. This ipod was made to play music and maybe hold a few photos and it does that rather well, so for $25 it's a very good deal This ipod doesn't have very good games.

Good – my overall opinion of the apple ipod nano (2nd generation) is that this is a great product and you can take it any where which is even better! it is small and light weight and fits into your pocket. it has many functions from playing music to holding pictures the apple ipod nano (2nd generation) is really good as it is light weight and not big or… Read more

bulky! i can take it with me any where and plug it in to alsmost anything. it not only plays music but i can upload pictures and movies onto it. the colour choices are great, the babttery life is very long which is very convinient. there isnt much at all that i dislike about the apple ipod nano.

Excellent – The ipod nano is so easy to use and stores quite a lot of music files. I use it while out walking and the sound quality is really good, far better than any other portable music player I have used. Comes in a small size that is easy to use out and about while on walks etc. Stores quite a lot of music files and is pretty easy to use. Comes in some… Read more

cool colours and looks good. The sound is excellent and a great device for having a chill out session. The battery power does tend to die quite quickly but other than that, no complaints.

Good – This ipod is a great size and weighs almost nothing, but packs a punch in terms of image quality and sound quality (as long as you have good earphones, the ones that come with it aren't great). I really dislike using iTunes (confusing and annoying) and am not very computer savvy so can't use an alternative. Apart from that sometimes I find it hard… Read more

to use the controls as the turning wheel 'sticks' and it also scratches easily. Controls are impossible to use if it is kept in a case. Small size, bright and crisp screen, good sound quality Expensive, iTunes is annoying to use as an application, controls sometimes difficult to use, scratches easily

Good – I upgraded to this after losing my old nano, and although it's decent I feel it's a little less sturdy than my old one. The screen isn't as wide, and I miss that, but it's a good little ipod for the price. The blue version is really pretty and as always the sound quality is amazing. Great sound quality, a huge selection of colours and if you buy… Read more

from the apple website like I did, you can get free laser ingraving. Really cute little nano, screen is pretty clear, big enough to watch music clips and tv shows. A bit more delicate than my old nano, I feel. Not so sure I like the elongated design.

Excellent – I love this product. I got it for my birthday a year ago and have had no problems with it. The battery last for quite awhile. THe only drawback is that the earphones that come iwith it area fairly ordinary. Recommend buying the other ipod earphones. I would recommend this product to anyone. I love my Ipod. Love the colours that it comes in. … Read more

I have the purple one and think it is awesome. It can hold so many songs and photos. From a well known and dependable brand. It is a little bit expensive but I love it and have had no problems with it.

Good – I got myself one of these couple of years ago and it has worked fine except for couple of times when the ipod has frozen and I've had to wait for the battery to run flat for it to fix itself. I bought the 4GB silver one but thinking back I should have got 8GB as I thought 4GB would be plenty but when you start storing music on it it's hard to stop… Read more

and it's easy to run out of space.

The music quality is good and I find it easy to use after you work our the circular button. Very happy with it. The 8GB one can store alot of music, compact, light, easy to use.

Excellent – We have one of these and it has been great. It has great battery life and a great sound if you don't use the stock earphones. Ours is pink but the other colours were great as well. We took advantage of the laser engraving service to personalise it. A friend of ours snapped his in two by having it in his backpocket while he sat down. That suggests… Read more

it can be a bit fragile in certain circumstances. Having said that my wife uses it mainly for working out and it hasn't missed a beat.

I like the form factor better than the 3rd gen nano and am glad Apple went back to this shape for Gen 4. Highly recommended. Nice form factor, good click wheel, lovely colours, more scratchproof than later or earlier generation ones. Great sound quality. Small screen size and resolution, poor quality earphones, easy to break if sat on.

Good – Apple technology is flashy but far too expensive and considering how mediocre the quality of the iPod is, defiantly not worth all the money. This product is suitable, however, for those who don't require excessive amounts of space on an mp3 player. In the long run it's really up to personal taste in sound and looks. Small, simple and has great… Read more

sound quality. Battery life is far too short considering how much music it can store. Screens are prone to scratching and the ports are vulnerable to sand, dirt etc.

Good – I lucked in when a friend of mine bought a new ipod. He gave me this nano, his old one. Even after his year of use it is in great condition and functions very well. I don't often listen to music but it's nice to have a compact unit in my handbag anytime i just feel like listening to music. I'm not really good with computers and all these sorts of… Read more

OK – I like playing the games on this ipod whilst listenign to the music. Also, it has a decent amount of storage space for your songs etc. Theres also a menu which allows you to browse songs accordign to artist, genre, album, and playlists. Battery life is fairly okay. Ipod nano comes in a range of coours for you to choose from! It also comes In… Read more

2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models! - small light and protable. However, the brand new versions of the ipods are gettting more and more smaller, thus easier to take alogn wherever you go Nothign so far. My ipod nano is still in good conditon and functioning well even after several years

OK – Working in the electronics retail business I get a lot of these iPods back from customers that need resetting, or reloading firmware. The Apple website it not that easy to navigate and as the unit does not come with instructions nobody seems to know how to fix them. Small and portable. Light and easy to use. Prone to freezing and firmware issues. Screen can be damaged very easily and replacing them is not worth it.

Excellent – I got one of these for free! The iPod is the best MP3 Player that I have ever had! I love it. I like that it will hold a ton of stuff (music, game, ect) but I wish the screen was a bit bigger. A must have for the music lover in all of us! Store games, music, video audiobooks! Screen is alittle to small

Good – I'm very disappointed to hear these reviews that mention things I have never experienced. I have dropped it so many times with the cover and without and never seen a scratch. I've dropped it on my polished floor boards and left a nasty scratch on the floor, and not on my beautiful ipod. I have had my blue nano for about 2-3 years and never have I… Read more

regretted purchasing it. 4gb of storage is more than enough and has great sound on my portable speakers. Though as a purchase now is a little out moded. Small, colourful, lightweight, great design, a little expensive a little easy to slip out of hands

OK – As teh screen is quite small, if you are wanting an Ipod ot view photos as well as listen to music, I woudl recommend purchasing another Ipod model with a larger screen. If you are wanting an ipod just for music, as this is quite expensive, a cheaper mp3 player will probably suit you. Better instructions are needed to work out the computer… Read more

Good – Worth the money if you like your music and like good quality but otherwise you'd porbably be better just to go with something that is easy and cheap to replace in case of loss or breakage, otherwise its great go for it. Have fun with the games. Fantastic design, works perfectly and is easy to use and download music onto. Quick and cool looking… Read more

design is great. Comes in a huge range of colours and is avlalible in so many different data amounts its not funny. Extremely cheap and versatile. Easy to lose, can slip out of your hands, very fragile.

Good – The ipod nano 2nd generation is a fairly good MP3 player. It lacks the ability to play videos. There are much better ipods and music players out in the market but if you are looking for a slim, sleek easy to use music player then this is probably right for you. The sound is great from these little devices and ipod earphones like always produce… Read more

clear as crystal sound. The only thing that i hate about the ipod an in general is Itunes. Why wont they just let your ipod act like a removable disk on your computer? Why must we use Itunes? Long battery life and great sound. Well Itunes? Who likes it?

OK – At the time that i got my ipod, i got it for a great price and it was the latest model. It was very good, heaphones are great (they have even survived going through the wash) and it had good games on it and can store more songs than i will ever need. So if you were getting it cheap or second hand, i would reccomend it, but otherwise i would go… Read more

Excellent – Being a non-apple user yes I am ok with this device. For a 1 or 2GB mp3player at a very reasonable price now is pretty alright. Is also pretty small and handy to carry around for car trips. Sometimes you just dont want to carry a hard drive with so much songs. The nano looks pretty slick and comes in a wide variety of colours. I have a iphone 3G… Read more

but I dont find myself using it as a MP3 player too often and because the connectors do not adapt to the old ipod connector pin due to old firewire connectors I just cant be bothered using the iphone as a mp3 player and stick to my old ipod nano. In some ways as this is not touch screen you do not need to lock it like the iphone or itouch. In other words easier to operate. simple to use with nice screen is apple?

OK – I loved it when I first got it. It was easy to use and it made me more familiar with iTunes. Long battery life. Easy to use interface for the technologically "disabled." Small and very easyly tucked away in your jeans. Games are not very interesting and screen scratches easily.

Good – Overall the ipod nano 2nd generation is a half decent MP3 player. However it lacks the ability to play videos and it does have the ability to do so. This is one MP3 to consider if you don't want video playeback. The nano 2nd generation is thinner than the previous model and is avaliable in 5 colours just for a different look. pretty good and the music quality is also good on it. It doesn't play video despite it can view photos on the colour screen. Very pointless indeed. There is also no radio build in and audio recording isn't possible.

OK – Being an avid applemac user i had to get a nano to hook up with Itunes, everthing works as it should and I have no regrets, i do feel that apple products are overpriced and for less money you could possibly buy a similar product, with more memory and video playback. I use mine all the time, jogging and mowing mostly, battery last for a long time… Read more

and i can only remember a few times when it actually ran right out and shut the nano down. compact, long battery life, great sound, easy itunes integration, sleek styling Overpriced, no video playback, over sensitive wheel.

Excellent – I love my ipod nano 2nd generation. I find the size and design very aesthetically pleasing and has the perfect proportions to fit in a jeans pocket, unlike the width of the 3rd generation. The choice of colours is also exceptional. heaps and heaps of song's! Doesn't have an an fm radio, and you can't do any voice recording's. It isn't very strong on the outside, so if you ever drop it, it will probably get a dent in it.

OK – Great MP3 player. The new nano is a lot better, it looks better and also plays movies which this one does not do.
