Archos 80 G9

I'm happy with this tablet overall – I've had this tablet since Dec 2011 and apart from a couple of minor glitches has performed well. It was $300 at the time and was at the cheap end of the market at the time. I find the 8" screen a good size. Archos has kept the Android upgrades coming so I'm currently running 4.0.3. The built in stand is handy. Nice screen/ ok battery life/ 8" screen The case is creaky and you get a mark on the screen when you touch a certain place on the back.
