Setup is terrible, the power meter is something you should not trust – In the app it shows Voltage 229.4V, current 0.061A, power 7.7W. 229.4*0.061 =13.99W, what do I trust? Why it shows contradictory information? Show details

Far from perfect. Precision very low – The precision of measurements is pretty low. It might be ok for high power devices, but for low power devices precision is very poor. No voltage changes in the 1-2h, shows same readings. Same with the current for my Raspberry pie pc. Doesn't mattter how it is loaded or even disconnected shows same current 0.027A.

Excellent remotely programmable timeclock – This model had worked faultlessly being used as a timeclock controlling a battery charger until one day with a thunderstorm & lightning directly overhead it lost its time schedule although it still switched on/off using manual button. Nevertheless I was simply able to regain control from my smartphone & reprogram without any difficulty. This particular model has an excellent Energy Meter function....Regards Ray Bright Show details

Amazing. Amazing quality compared to other brands – I used to have a Brilliant Smart plug, until that overheated and blew. This was my replacement, and I love it. It helps me automate my home without a hub, and is simple and easy to use. I use it to manage the power supply for my desk, so I can easily say "Hey Google, turn on the desk" as I walk in or say "Alexa, turn on the desk" into my… Read more

smartwatch as I am commuting home. I love the countdown timer - it allows me to use my desk and walk away without worrying - knowing that it will automatically turn off for me after 45 mins. Well done Arlec.

Arlec Grid Connect Smart Plug In Socket Two out four faulty – I bought a pack of four Arlec Grid Connect Smart Plug In Sockets With Energy Meters at Bunnings. The app is pretty clunky but works, and you can use Google assistant as well. The socket looks great and is a small and neat design. Of the four in the pack two were faulty in a dangerous way that should result in the product being withdrawn or… Read more

recalled in my view. The faulty sockets both set up as normal (flashing light on the socket until the app paired ok), and you could use the app to turn the socket on and off as indicated by the power light on the socket itself.

However, the faulty sockets remained permanently powered on even when switched off and the light on the socket turns off, and you should assume the outlet is therefore not live, yet it is still sending out 240V. This is dangerous faulty behaviour. I will return to Bunnings (Which I think is the sole distributor of these products) for a refund not a replacement. I note that the product is not listed on the Grid Connect website
