Expensive, but kinda worth it... If your a keyboard enthusiast who enjoys building and and customizing keyboards, but want something with ROG styling and access to the Aurora Crate software integration, this keyboard might very well be for you. Like the original Azoth, the extreme edition provides users with the ability to disassemble the deck down to the silicon, swap out damping layers and change out keys and stabilizers to your liking.

The biggest selling features of this keyboard include: 1) The build quality on everything is superb... like to the last fit and finish this keyboard is just perfection on the fit and finish. The entire case is metal, the OLED is in color and all elements of the keyboard (yes even the silicon layer) is ROG branded. 2) Because its a ROG keyboard, the keyboard is pre-programed and 100% customizable within the ASUS Armory Crate software. Plug and play with the ability to customize and integrate with all the other elements of your PC without the hassle of having to program everything yourself (that may be a con for some enthusiasts who prefer customizing both the hardware and software) 3) The typing experience really is amazing. In addition to coming with great switches out of the box, everything is hot swap, so you can change the keys for something else of choice. However, if your like me and prefer a solid typing experience, ASUS has built in typing damper.. on the bottom of the keyboard you can flick a switch and it will lock the layers in tight for a nice firm typing experience. However, if you flip it the other way, it releases the layers and allows for a softer typing experience. Of course, you can also modify this experience as you see fit by adding or removing layers within the keyboard.

Now all of this sounds great, however, there is a catch! This keyboard is by far one of the most expensive keyboards on the market. Determining if you want to spend this money on a keyboard comes down to a) if you have disposable income and can justify spending $700 CAD on a keyboard, and b) if you desire the best of the best without having to invest a ton of time building and customizing your keyboard deck.
