Capable - but don't expect it to work out of the box – Been using my Vivo Tab Smart for 2 months now and only just coming to terms with it. Windows 8 takes a bit of getting used to - particularly finding things. Plenty of others have reviewed Windows 8 but the tablet does crash pretty regularly and not sure if it's Windows or the lack of grunt from the Atom processor. The lack of apps and functionality with the ones that are available can be a bit frustrating at times. I do like the on-screen keyboard options although these can sometimes be a bit clunky.
Had to upgrade my WiFi at home. Although the 4 other computers in the house worked fine, the tablet kept dropping connections a not reconnecting even when it had a signal - was ready to throw the thing but this is now sorted with WiFi upgrade.
I wanted the ability to use the full Office suite plus other software if needed, so the full Windows 8 is good for that - although memory and speed are a bit limited for high end applications and most of the software doesn't really translate well to tablet operation. I had hoped to use this as a work computer but not yet convinced it's reliable enough.
I bought an on-the-go cable which allows me to use a USB stick etc with the micro USB port. This is a real bonus over iPad. Also bought the transleeve keypad which is small, but pretty neat and seems to be reliable. Had to get both online as they weren't available locally at the time.
I also got a 64 gig micro SDXC card. It got corrupted early on (don't know why) so wasn't sure if this was part of my early problems. Have since reformatted it and had no problems so far but haven't used it much.
Overall if you want a machine that operates out of the box then don't get one of these (get an iPad). But if you want a bit more capability and connectability and you're prepared to persevere with IT frustration, then this is a pretty capable and cheap unit.
Asus vivo tab 64gb – Using the tab to write this review. Got it as a replacement to the galaxy note 10.1. It used to freeze very frequently. Windows 8 is awesome but only on tablets and phones, not suitable for desktops and laptops in my opinion. I have windows 8 pro on the tablet and Im able to run legacy apps which removes the dependency on 'apps' through market.
The vivo tab is very light weight compared to galaxy note 10.1 and is quite responsive. Windows 8 is fast and fluid.
Has a card slot as well. Windows 8 pro, light weight, thin, nfc, bluetooth Not many accessories available, win 8 is great but needs to be a bit more refined,

Frustration at this stupid machine has finally got the better of me. After almost a year of perseverance it is still slow to load up lots of the apps, Outlook takes ages to connect, News app sometimes doesn't update, and it still keeps freezing, Windows 8.1 made it no better. Plan to return it for a refund. This machine is a DUD!!
