Piece of CRAP Do Not Buy – Unstable, will drive users unstable too. Turn it on and it will work, next time you turn it on, it won't. Can't swap between DVD, USB, TV, utterly hopeless and maddening. Terrible – Every time I put a new DVD in I need to change the channel and how all the cords are in on the back. 100% do not buy! Completely and utterly over dealing with it . My TV is a near new smart TV so I know it's definitely not my Tv as it's never done it with any other player or gaming device  Show details

Crap-- I would give negative score if I can – Absolutely crap! The greeting message when I switch the player on is "HELL" instead of "HELLO". DVD doesn't read properly and sound doesn't work for most of the movies. The player makes unpleasant big noise when read the disc. Graphics is also rubbish. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS CRAP BRAND!

This is the worst product I've ever bought. Even though it only cost $30 I am angry about just how b – 1/ Batteries are not included for the remote. And I was OK with that, because I had the batteries from my old broken DVD player that I bought this item to replace. Some fool involved in the making of this dumb product had made the decision to put a screw in the battery cavity.

I didn't have a phillips-head screwdriver. After about an hour I finally managed to open the battery cavity with a knife. I got the batteries from my old DVD player and put them in the new remote. I figured I was on my way. But no.

2/ I tried putting in one of my favourite DVDs. This piece of crap couldn't detect it. "No disc", it said. After another hour of trying various discs it was able to detect my old DVD of "Independence Day". So I thought I'd at least be able to watch that. But no.

3/ It didn't do the audio properly. I could hear the background music, but the voices of the characters were not heard. So I messed around for a while with the yellow white and red cables that it came with. But that didn't work. I spent another hour trying to fix that, with no result.

4/ At one point when I was readjusting the cables to get this piece of crap to work I left it at a non-horizontal angle while the disc was playing. Suddenly it stopped working.. And after that it couldn't even detect the one DVD it had previously been able to detect. I spent another hour on that. Again, with no result.

Everybody involved with the invention, production, marketing and sales of this piece of crap should be ashamed of themselves. It was only $30 but I don't get how this piece of crap* is even being sold in stores.

I'm only giving this product a 1/5 rating because I can't give it a 0/5 rating.

One part of me is thinking that I should take it back to K-Mart to get a refund of my $30. Another part of me is thinking that I should spend another $30 on a sledgehammer so I can obliterate it. I'm leaning towards the latter option.

Same as Jotun happened to me! – We couldn't hear part of the sound in many vdd and after trying many different things I read Jotun's tip and now it works perfectly! Thanks a lot! The device now seems to work quite well but only time will say if we will have he same issues mentioned and be luckier.

Stopped Working After Using It Once – Had previously purchased one and it stopped working a month after getting it, thought it was bad luck so stupidly got another. Have used it once and just went to use it for a second time and it will not open the cd/DVD slot. Absolute waste of money and time.

absolutely crap!! first one and replacement!! – I bought this product from Kmart about 6 mths ago and 3 channels never worked,then dvd player stopped working. Took it back got replacement and its even worse..no channels work,can get signal and dvd plays in b&w with no sound..worst piece of crap EVER purchased!! PLEASE don't waste your time..buy a better brand!!!

Crap product – All channels saved but no sound on 1 of all major channels. No sound for 7 mate, gem, or one. But sound for the rest [censored word removed]. Did reset makes no difference to the set box. DVD player works ok but no sound for 3 channels ruins my experience and wasted my money.

Waste of Money! – Do not purchase this product! Absolute waste of money. brand new out of the box and first time use, on start up it is incredibly loud, like an old on its way out computer. buttons worked, had to manually pull the plug and restart. 2nd attempt with a different dvd had it working fine for about 10 minutes before just completely shutting down with all buttons unresponsive once again. Exchanged this, thinking it was just faulty and experienced worse problems with 2nd player. Got so bad after 2nd viewing it actually trapped my dvd inside the machine and required me to pull it apart piece by piece to actually get my dvd out. This product should not be referred to as a DVD player as it does nothing of the sort. Save your money, unless you want to pay more to replace it and possibly your DVD's as well.

It's good value if you know about the audio – I had the same problem with not being able to hear people talk, did some research online and discovered you have to go into the DVD player menu, go to audio and change the surround sound options to OFF. Fixed the problem.

Second one as bad as the first – First one I bought would not play through all speakers, returned thinking maybe a dud and exchanged it. Same problem with the second. This one will also go back and I'll save to get a better quality item. You get what you pay for, very disappointing

Very bad don't buy one – Doesn't play voices only background music I will returne to Kmart- out if the box and didn't work so upsetting will spend a bit more and buy a descent one

Loud – Unable to get any channels and the DVD player often runs so loud I can't hear the show very frustrating. Would have been better off spending extra and getting a better DVD player

Very poor quality Do Not Buy – I purchased this DVD player from kmart for $39.00 and it did not work correctly straight out of the box. The USB feature did not work at all and the DVD would play video but no audio could be heard. immediately no fuss at all.

The next unit was worse!! It was damaged when I removed it from the box, it had marks and a few deep scratches on the top of the casing. After setting it up and turning the power on all seemed good - then I tried to play a disc (DVD) and the unit sounded like a tumble dryer it groans very loud until you press stop and then it hums and clunks loudly when you press the power off button. Also when you press eject the tray comes out very noisily, slowly and it grinds.

All round awful product please avoid this cheap rubbish. Having young children we tend to buy cheaper appliances with decent warranty (12 months) but this one is awful. I've had a DVD player from Coles (approx $25) in our play area for about 3 years. Price seemed good at the time Cheap rubbish doesn't work
