Website account login is broken (again!) The Australia Post Everyday Mastercard website does not send the 6-digit OTP (One-Time Passcode) to your email address, despite repeated attempts. The code is required in order to login which leaves you in limbo and unable to access your accounts to check the balance/transactions or top-up your card. My… Read more

email address and password are entered correctly, I completed the small wiggly-letters code correctly, but the OTP (passcode) never gets sent, neither to my email Spam folder or any other email folder.

While the idea of extra level of verification is good and much-needed, the execution is a complete failure. It's a much better (and safer) method to send the OTP to the customer's mobile phone number.

Prior to this problem, logging in via the website was working, albeit without the extra security of an OTP. The card itself continues to work for me as I used it twice yesterday (21st May 2026) for small purchases in-store. So this is clearly just a website issue.

Work-around: I am only able to ring the generic assistance phone number: 1800 549 718 and then I can hear my card balance/transactions via the automated robotic menu system prompts. Cumbersome, but at least that works.

Funnily enough, at the end of the aforementioned call, I was given the option of receiving a survey to share my experience. I selected "Yes", and was told it would be sent to my email address. Guess what? Just like the login passcode it never arrived...! :-/

For starters, AUSTRALIA POST is NOT responsible for the usage of the Australia Post Everyday Mastercard. It's only what you might call "the front desk" of it. ALL transactions are EXCLUSIVELY controlled by Mastercard themselves. I have had to ring their crummy 1800 549 718 a number of times, in order to get them to unlock the active card for… Read more

purchases at certain websites, which is infuriating, even though I use the CVV security number on the back of the card all the time, every time when attempting a purchase. As you can see by the image located in the Terms & Conditions webpage; Australia Post ONLY does the original purchase AND reloading. Everything else is done by Mastercard themselves. NOTE: Don't chew out the person on the other end of the Mastercard Card Services phone line - it's not their fault either. It's the senior management that you should directly focus your anger/frustations at.

been 4 fraudulent transactions on 2 different days from Aust and overseas. Although Card Services did reimburse me the funds, it took too long and too many hurdles to jump before the refund. When you ring the Card Services staff, although friendly they are impossible to understand as you are continually asking them to repeat themselves. I admit I got sucked in by the low yearly fee and low inactivity fee, it is not worth it. Please take my advice, do not get this card, you will regret it. They will guarantee your money and your private details are safe. In my experience it has been a very empty and worthless Blah, Blah. Why Mastercard would put their name to this trash is beyond me.

Follow-up  · There is no follow up review because I quickly spent the remaining credit and then cancelled the card. I was lucky that I got almost all the money back from the card.

Great way to control what you spend – Not wanting a credit card with interest, I decided to purchase the everyday Mastercard and really love it. The top up of money on the card is easy and I only put what I want to spend. This is a great way not to overspend and buy from overseas as well.

pressing the button to resend the code, I tried logging in on the website, which again required a one time passcode due to the update. Again the passcode never arrived, despite multiple attempts.

I called customer support, and had great difficulty in finally getting through to an exceptionally unhelpful person who just kept repeating my card balance, and when I said that wasn't the issue she snapped at me to allow her to explain, before saying there was nothing she could to and I should try again tomorrow.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

This card is refused by so many sellers and sites its frustrating. Recent changes of them not holding other countries currency is the final straw. They decided to do that during an economic down turn so thousands of dollars lost from the exchange rate without much notice just sighting their ts and cs very untrust worthy and customer service is lacking.

adds up over time—especially for a product that was previously appealing because of its low or no ongoing costs. Changes like this take away the value and make me reconsider whether it’s worth keeping.

After being a customer for years, it’s frustrating to see fees introduced rather than improvements to the service. There are plenty of other options out there without these kinds of fees, so unless this is reconsidered, I’ll likely be cancelling my card.

I hope Australia Post takes customer feedback seriously, because this kind of change doesn’t go unnoticed.

The bulk of these reviews capture the problems with it quite well. Among other things, the app is clunky and limited. a funding option.

Whenever I’ve had an issue with the card (eg. mystery fees showing up, etc), Australia Post has shrugged its shoulders and claimed it has nothing to do with it, which is pretty appalling since its name/logo is prominently displayed on it. Evidently, they just see it as a revenue source, not a product for which they have any responsibility.

I’m not sure if there are better options in the market for this niche product - a reloadable debit card unconnected to a bank account - but there almost certainly aren’t worse ones.

Ultimately, it serves the purpose I need it for but it’s awkward to use and slightly painful to maintain.

MasterCard operate this as a money laundering fraud racket to unlawfully trap your funds, avoid it like the plague. certainly in violation of the Terms of Use. Ironically I could add more funds, but not use them...

Since this card is marketed by AusPost, administered by EML Payments and operated/issued by Mastercard Prepaid Management Services, it's a dog's breakfast and customer support is non-existent until AFCA got involved and once I had served them with a legal demand to release my $1300 of funds. MasterCard heavily relies on a very broad clause in the terms to arbitrarily suspend an account on the false pretense of 'suspicious transactions' which is absolute nonsense - and that is evidenced by the fact that Mastercard was forced to release my funds without penalty and to pay $500 in compensation for refusing to meet their AFSL obligations. Furthermore, Mastercard tried to demand various confidential and personal details that were irrelevant to their lawful operation of the card, some of which they had on file from the activation process, others (like the source of my reload funds which were approved by the AusPost agents when making the reload and acceptable within the Terms) had nothing to do with the card nor their AUSTRAC obligations as they falsely claimed.

So in the end, you'd be better off getting a non-reloadable gift card from the supermarkets or a debit card or low/no rate credit card form a bank since they comply with their AFSL obligations, unlike Mastercard which seems to think they're above the law.

If you've been scammed by Mastercard, do not tolerate their criminal and aggravated misconduct and report them immediately to AFCA and demand compensation.

because they "suspected fraud". The problem is I didn't keep the cash receipts because once I looked online and saw that my balance was updated, I didn't need to keep the deposit receipts any longer. Who keeps deposit receipts? Once you check your bank account and the money is there, you throw out the receipt. Right? The only receipts I keep are purchases for my business that I can claim on tax.

I have sent Mastercard receipts of the bank deposits which I made, which of course you can prove through old bank statements. For 3 years I have been fighting to get my money back but they say there was 'suspected fraud'. Even though I used this card to buy goods and services and then I used it to deposit money onto. I was the one who used it! I have sent Mastercard my tax return from the ATO to show that the money I earn in my business (both cash and bank deposits) is all legal and declared. I have sent them my ID and me holding the ID. I will not let this go. Australia Post and Mastercard have kept my money for three years They have a financial incentive to say there is "suspected fraud" because that is all they need to do to keep your money. In three years, they have not produced ONE SHRED of evidence to show I defrauded anyone. Please do not trust Australia Post or Mastercard with your hard-earned wealth. Your money can be stolen by them for absolutely no reason, without them needing to produce proof of fraud. As I said, Australia Post Mastercard get to keep my $4,400 just for "suspecting" fraud. Whilst there remains a financial incentive for both of these companies to "suspect" fraud without needing to produce proof, YOUR MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE AT RISK. Do NOT TRUST either of these companies.

Follow-up  · Update: I finally managed to get my funds released after 3 years.
