I’ve been using the Australia Post Everyday Mastercard for a few years now, and up until recently it’s been a convenient and simple card to manage. However, I’m really disappointed to see a new $1 monthly fee introduced. It might seem small, but it adds up over time—especially for a product that was previously appealing because of its low or no… Read more

ongoing costs. Changes like this take away the value and make me reconsider whether it’s worth keeping.

After being a customer for years, it’s frustrating to see fees introduced rather than improvements to the service. There are plenty of other options out there without these kinds of fees, so unless this is reconsidered, I’ll likely be cancelling my card.

I hope Australia Post takes customer feedback seriously, because this kind of change doesn’t go unnoticed.

The bulk of these reviews capture the problems with it quite well. Among other things, the app is clunky and limited. Website functionality is better but not ideal on mobile and also misleading around the costs of loading funds. Changes communicated by email today only make the value proposition worse - adding a monthly fee and removing BPay as… Read more

a funding option.

Whenever I’ve had an issue with the card (eg. mystery fees showing up, etc), Australia Post has shrugged its shoulders and claimed it has nothing to do with it, which is pretty appalling since its name/logo is prominently displayed on it. Evidently, they just see it as a revenue source, not a product for which they have any responsibility.

I’m not sure if there are better options in the market for this niche product - a reloadable debit card unconnected to a bank account - but there almost certainly aren’t worse ones.

Ultimately, it serves the purpose I need it for but it’s awkward to use and slightly painful to maintain.

I transferred money into my Australia Post MasterCard to pay for a airline ticket. My card was declined twice with plenty of credit on it.After going thru hell on the phone trying to understand the consultant i eventually worked out that i was charged $10 for my efforts. As far as im concerned they can put there card and bank where the Sun doesn't shine.

For starters, AUSTRALIA POST is NOT responsible for the usage of the Australia Post Everyday Mastercard. It's only what you might call "the front desk" of it. ALL transactions are EXCLUSIVELY controlled by Mastercard themselves. I have had to ring their crummy 1800 549 718 a number of times, in order to get them to unlock the active card for… Read more

purchases at certain websites, which is infuriating, even though I use the CVV security number on the back of the card all the time, every time when attempting a purchase. As you can see by the image located in the Terms & Conditions webpage; Australia Post ONLY does the original purchase AND reloading. Everything else is done by Mastercard themselves. NOTE: Don't chew out the person on the other end of the Mastercard Card Services phone line - it's not their fault either. It's the senior management that you should directly focus your anger/frustations at.

A disaster of a Gift Card – This is the worst experience I have ever had with a gift card. The Registration process fails and there is no assistance. I am a 45 year veteran of the IT industry so I have an idea about what I am doing on several operating systems platforms to be able to enter data. This app is a complete failure. Even checking the card balance is a failure. … Read more

You only need to enter three items, the Card ID number, the 16 digit card account and the expiry date. The app says that the details entered are inconsistent with their data and gives you no option to talk to anyone about it.

No wonder there are so many other people complaining about this card for weeks.

Australia Post office claim they have nothing to do with this, despite being the entity that sold it to customers. So much for customer service. What a joke this product and the service are.

I tried registering the card and it came up with an error message saying System Failure. Again no way to remedy this.

When you attempt to use the general Australia Post phone number of 131318 it states that they are so busy with other calls that you should ring back hours later.

I am sure this product must be violating several banking/financial services regulations with its app failures, no other option to remedy the issue and Aust post disclaiming any responsibility.

I would avoid this gift card like the plague!

The worst user experience I have ever had . Using your own money this cards support and systems do everything possible to make it impossible to use,log into, top up or access. The support is offshore, out of touch, misleading and not across the brief… Read more

in any way shape of form.Despite admitting there was a broad scale system outage they could/would not give any ETA, nor refund or closure of card, because they 'claim' they cannot access the account. The messaging on the login site says you have changed your password after resetting (because they won't accept the actual correct password) Then, after you jump through the hoops you get the message. password successfully changed, it takes you back to the login page only to reject it again and rinse and repeat multiple times, until your only choice is to phone support , who tell you to call back later, when they 'might' be able to cancel, log you in etc. (at a price) This card is effluent on steroids. The support is abysmal. The systems comedic. The usability of this card is as useful as tissues for a life raft. Under no circumstance, ever, ever consider this nightmare card option.I am surprised the ACCC hasn't prosecuted them for business practises and misleading claims. My fingers are crossed that the ACCC reads Product Review.Especially this page

Make no mistake the awful failure login experience has occurred every time (at least 4 times) I have needed to login.Every single time. EDIT 22/4/2026: It gets worse. The website still disallowing me to login to top up funds so I will drag my money out at the local PO at the first opportunity. This is yet another case of our AUD being managed by an offshore parasite company, where we have no idea who has acces to our data, our ID and our money APost should be shut down form every operation it runs.

Follow-up  · I deeply regret getting this card. For the most basic of purposes (payment of a small fixed annual fee) via recharge has let me down every time I either login or if I luck out and get in, it won't let me top up funds. I see this card as nothing more than an offshore data harvesting scam. Avoid

This card run by AUSTRALIA POST and MASTERCARD is an absolute disgrace. I loaded both cash (from payments to my business - I have a lot of elderly customers) and bank deposits on my card. Then Mastercard froze my account with $4,400 loaded onto it… Read more

because they "suspected fraud". The problem is I didn't keep the cash receipts because once I looked online and saw that my balance was updated, I didn't need to keep the deposit receipts any longer. Who keeps deposit receipts? Once you check your bank account and the money is there, you throw out the receipt. Right? The only receipts I keep are purchases for my business that I can claim on tax.

I have sent Mastercard receipts of the bank deposits which I made, which of course you can prove through old bank statements. For 3 years I have been fighting to get my money back but they say there was 'suspected fraud'. Even though I used this card to buy goods and services and then I used it to deposit money onto. I was the one who used it! I have sent Mastercard my tax return from the ATO to show that the money I earn in my business (both cash and bank deposits) is all legal and declared. I have sent them my ID and me holding the ID. I will not let this go. Australia Post and Mastercard have kept my money for three years They have a financial incentive to say there is "suspected fraud" because that is all they need to do to keep your money. In three years, they have not produced ONE SHRED of evidence to show I defrauded anyone. Please do not trust Australia Post or Mastercard with your hard-earned wealth. Your money can be stolen by them for absolutely no reason, without them needing to produce proof of fraud. As I said, Australia Post Mastercard get to keep my $4,400 just for "suspecting" fraud. Whilst there remains a financial incentive for both of these companies to "suspect" fraud without needing to produce proof, YOUR MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE AT RISK. Do NOT TRUST either of these companies.

Follow-up  · Update: I finally managed to get my funds released after 3 years. I spent 3 years sending them documents to prove who I was and that I owned my bank account and owned the Mastercard that they had frozen with $4400 loaded onto it, but none of this was good enough for Mastercard and I felt like I was going round in circles. As I mentioned,… Read more

MasterCard operate this as a money laundering fraud racket to unlawfully trap your funds, avoid it like the plague. certainly in violation of the Terms of Use. Ironically I could add more funds, but not use them...

Since this card is marketed by AusPost, administered by EML Payments and operated/issued by Mastercard Prepaid Management Services, it's a dog's breakfast and customer support is non-existent until AFCA got involved and once I had served them with a legal demand to release my $1300 of funds. MasterCard heavily relies on a very broad clause in the terms to arbitrarily suspend an account on the false pretense of 'suspicious transactions' which is absolute nonsense - and that is evidenced by the fact that Mastercard was forced to release my funds without penalty and to pay $500 in compensation for refusing to meet their AFSL obligations. Furthermore, Mastercard tried to demand various confidential and personal details that were irrelevant to their lawful operation of the card, some of which they had on file from the activation process, others (like the source of my reload funds which were approved by the AusPost agents when making the reload and acceptable within the Terms) had nothing to do with the card nor their AUSTRAC obligations as they falsely claimed.

So in the end, you'd be better off getting a non-reloadable gift card from the supermarkets or a debit card or low/no rate credit card form a bank since they comply with their AFSL obligations, unlike Mastercard which seems to think they're above the law.

If you've been scammed by Mastercard, do not tolerate their criminal and aggravated misconduct and report them immediately to AFCA and demand compensation.

I purchased a $500 Australia Post Mastercard Gift Card (ID: 017602xxxx, Card: 5386 5301 2086 xxxx, exp. 07/25) in NSW, Australia. The card expired, but the funds remain mine under ASIC rules. dismissed my ASIC ePayments Code rights (ABN 47 145 452 044 for Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia) and refused a replacement card, stating, "Policy is policy, nothing I can do." Filed with ASIC already. 1/5 stars—zero accountability.

Got one of these pre-paid Mastercards for a younger relative to use - without reading the reviews first. The Android app is slow and clunky - sometimes just crashes. the app. Transferring money onto the card also takes days, and charges apply for Bpay etc. When I downloaded the first 2 months statements, the transactions were in jumbled order - not date order - not sure how they managed that. Not recommended if you have an alternative available. Giving it two stars as at least the few transactions done on it have worked.

Daylight robbery. My advise to any other current customer... Cash out now and leave behind this disgraceful excuse of a credit card business. It'll cost you $10 to transfer your money out, but it's worth it to get your well earned money away from these scammers.

Scam Card – It's a scam. $7 to buy the card. Registration for this card needs more I'd than going to the bank. Then you can only buy 1. For something that is meant to be preloaded with your own money why all the boundaries? Then when you do load it and go to use it....it doesn't work. Worker got stuck at the petrol station because the card couldn't be recognised. And no customer service provided when you do try to call them. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
