Baccarat - False advertising – Avoid! Baccarat are a very expensive brand of knives (many consider them second only to Global), they claim they are superior Japanese Stainless Steel quality that are almost impossible to stain, rust and won't blunt readily. Sadly that is all lies by the company and retailers. The iD3 range of knives (now no longer listed on Baccarat's website - I wonder why) are superficial garbage. We received a set of them for Christmas, we finally opened them and on the very first use they stained with large areas of rust. One use!

We had followed the directions to the letter, which state to rinse and dry the knives after use and to only clean them with mild detergent. However 8 hours later when I went to use the knives for the second time ever, they were rusted with large areas of the two knives we used (one had cut bread and we cleaned as per instruction). Unbelievable. Avoid Baccarat.

The actually aesthetic of the knives is very nice, but they simply are cheaply made, the knife block / holder is also very very cheaply made. Not worth the avaricious asking price.
