Bauhn 2800 Lumen HD LED Projector (ALDI) – The noisiest projector I have ever heard. The cooling fan makes a very loud noise drowning out the movie sound. Unbearable. The projector is quite large at 34cm x 25.5cm x 12.5cm. Turning the lens to focus the projector is very strange and the lens cover scrapes on the cover around it leaving gouges. The paintwork on the cover is a little poor as not all parts are white. I could not get it to operate directly from my computer through the VGA port or USB port. I didn't try a USB stick though & my external HDD was 2Tb so it would not read it - max is 400Gb. I am returning it.

Good – This player won't give you the ultimate picture quality (only the OPPO BDP-83 can do that) but it is as good as most of the major brand-name blu-ray players. Menu navigation works well and it was easy to set-up with plenty of output options. When it comes to video output with HDMI I recommend setting it HDMI-auto and 24p 'on' (assuming your TV supports this). This automatically upconverts SD DVDs to 1080i as well as playing back film sourced blu-rays at 24p. I found that with the other video settings it would cause the video to judder.

Perhaps the best aspect of this player is that it can be quickly setup as an all-region DVD player and the blu-ray can be changed to take advantage of the cheap US discs. To do this:

(1) Open the disc draw.

(2) Push 91130 = All-Region for DVD

(3) Push 91131 = Region A for BD

(4) Push 91132 = Region B for BD

(5) Push 91133 = Region C for BD It is cheap & can play Region A (US) blu-ray discs. USB port on front of player.

Good – Not a bad machine got it at a good price and has gone pretty well, had to go thru the settings to get the right setting for my HD projector using the HDMI cable. but over all a good machine... not sure about the USB in the front though. picture quality is pretty good for the price would be better if it had a few more inputs to connect other devices to it.

I've had mine for several years and it's outlived all of my previously owned dvd players which seemed to conk out just after the warranty expiry date. This planned obsolescence is Incredibly accurate, if they'd applied this technology to the DVD players just imagine the players. AS I said 6-7 years of use and the Bauhn is still going like a beaut.
