BodyWorx L8000LP
MPN: L8000LP8 reviews
Not for those over 6 foot in height – Assembly is not advised for a beginner as the instruction booklet leaves a lot to be desired, that said - the assembly came together nicely after some obtuse thinking. Overall - a fairly good product for the price point, I have only 2 gripes. ONE - the machine seems to be built to accommodate smallish people, I am 6' 4" and there is not really… Read more
sufficient room for my range of arm/leg movement. TWO - the pulleys come adrift quite easily as soon as a "press fit" plastic bearing cover works it's way out of place, IMHO it would save a lot of upset if the manufacturer spent a bit more effort in adequate design of the pulley assemblies themselves. A falling apart pulley leads to a badly frayed cable and much swearing!
If i could get mo money back i would – I wouldn't recommend this Gym set up its a waste of money. the pulleys need replacing time and time again and when the pulley starts to go the cables start to fray. I had it professionally assembled only six months ago Show details
Bang for buck – I bought this gym with additional leg press option. The construction of the product was an effort, even for me who have experience is such matters. It would be more of a challenge for less experienced people, so if that’s where you come from, pay the supplier to construct it. Having said that, once constructed it is easy to use and provides an… Read more
extensive array of varying exercises that allows you to get a anerobic workout. I note that others reviews complain about the weights. It is true that they are plastic filled with concrete. But weight is weight, and when you are doing pull-ups and push-ups, everyone’s weight is different, so that’s not an issue. But claims that the weights are inaccurate is not true. The weights in operation are often different to the static weights. Indeed, the plate weights need to be added to the pin weight and measured at the handle. After all, you don’t measure bench press weights on their own without the bar. I measured mine that way and the weight is almost spot on. The only complaint I had is that there needs to be double the weight increments as the weight increments are too larger step in some exercises. However, the total weight is better than most comparable systems for the price. In fact that is my summary, good bang for buck!
Excellent – Very happy with it however had the equipment put together by an experienced installer. Took him no time at all and works as I had hoped. The only comment is that the cushions on the foot restraints continually come off but it’s not enough to irritate and I sure there’s an easy fix.
Excellent product – I've assembled the Bodyworx home gym, gave it a first try this morning, overall experience is excellent. There are a few minor issues, for example my arms brush the framework when doing pulldowns, but not badly enough to seriously inhibit the experience. The pec attachment sticks out uncomfortably, I have to shift my head slightly forward,… Read more
slightly troubled about exercise form, though my back is well supported by the seat. In fairness I'm very tall and large.
The mechanism is smooth, much quieter than my old home gym, and the cable / pulley design seems well engineered - no threat of the cable slipping off as sometimes occurred with my old gym.
The assembly instructions were poor - the print quality was not great, diagrams were difficult to read. Luckily it was similar enough to my old gym so I could figure it out, and the gym itself is not overly complex.
I would recommend this product to others - but be prepared to spend a day or so figuring out how everything fits together.
Beware of this product, it is falsely advertised – On the surface this product seems like it should be good. Whilst fitting this product together I actually weighed the weights individually. The supposed 20 pound weights are barely 19 pounds, the 15 pound weight is 12.5 pounds. When I questioned GPI sports (the Australian distributor) about the weights not being what they said they were, they… Read more
not only tried to make fun of me for bothering to weigh them but also said that this is a cheaply made mass produced product and the weights are what they are. They went on to say that the GPI Sports policy is that unless the total weight stack is less than 10% out then they are in accordance with company guidelines. 10% of 215 pounds is 21.5pounds, that seems like a crazy amount of weight to consider an acceptable loss.
My advice is to find a different home gym to buy so as to avoid dealing with a bunch of dim-witted morons who are only to happy to falsely advertise their products and then hide behind poor excuses.
not bad at all!!!! – Has most exercises I need and works well! For the price its very well worth it. I got it 2nd hand and use it to kep fit not just for the pose value. Adjustments are simple like the instructions to put it together. Never bothered to weigh the weights individually or care whats in them and just use the amount I personally need. Can't see what the other review was on about???? Must be just very fussy?
Incredibly poor experience – I bought this and received it in January 2014. It came with a faulty weights plate (the weights plates are not metal, they are plastic filled with concrete and one of them was not filled or sealed properly). The replacement weights plate sent by the manufacturer was not the correct weight so we had to wait until the correct one was sent. The… Read more
manual that came with the product has several errors in it and caused confusion about whether the cables included were the correct length. Eventually I was able to finish assembling it. The lat pull down bar is quite low down and even with the seat set at the lowest position it isn't really suitable for someone who is tall. In any case, it was not long until two of the (plastic) pulleys began to wobble and fall apart. When the pulleys broke, they also damaged the cable. Replacements were sent but the problem occurred again. It had reached the point where I feared for my safety using the product. My request for a refund was refused and so for six months I have had a gym that has barely worked at all. I am certainly unable to recommend this product to anyone.
poor quality pulleys, cheap materials, terrible customer and warranty service
