Very long useful life – I purchased this system in 2002 when it was introduced with the DVD. I am still using the system and the system handled the technology changes during these years. Not forgetting to mention that the system looks good in our new house. It is amazing how the system works with few buttons and an effective remote control. I still feel that the system is perfectly functioning with good quality. It was rather expensive at that time but worth the investment. This has been my experience.

Bose lifestyle 48 – Great system - good sound - easy to use I have had some electric surges in my home so it has had To go back to Bose several times for repair Bose is very cooperative in regard to these repairs There service is very prompt I wish they would offer a backup option for the memory User friendly, good sound Hard drive cannot be backed up by consumer, this is a definite risk

Excellent – Excellent sound and no issues. I've had mine for about 5 years now and it's still going strong. The sound is really crisp and the surround is very good, particularly if you set it up properly using the adaptiq. I'd recommend it to anyone. Well with the money, when you compare to others. Sound quality Needs to be 're-booted' every now and then; but its not a major issue

Terrible – Impossible to use another receiver when the media center dies. Don't be tempted- Bose is overpriced, poorly supported and lousy short warranty for the price. I'm sorry I ever bought it - never again good sound cheap crappy dvdrom (PC) with proprietary firmware used- which dies quickly and costs a fortune to replace. Not true HD video. No blu-ray.

Terrible – I bought what I thought was "the best in the market" and paid a premium for the privilege of owning a bose system and yet I can't say my experience has been a good one, it has been in repair for 4 months of the life of the unit so I am left with a TV system that is interoperable. Don't waste your hard earned money for something that is going to break within a short period of time. The size of the speakers The useless warranty and terrible after sales service.
