Best Home Theatre Systems
average at best – I purchased this setup only due to my 20 year old Logitech Z-680 sound system blowing a fuse. So I thought it was time to upgrade to the latest and… Read more
greatest speakers, and so I stumbled across the Yamaha YHT-1810 that held great reviews and recommendations etc... I was on to a winner, so I thought. However, the sound system is nothing on what the 20 year old Logitech Z-680 was. It doesn't even come close. The sound is horrible, the bass (of what bass there is) is horrible. It has been the biggest disappointment. It is extremely hard to make out what is being said through the speakers when watching the tv, I have tried all the different settings and adjustments yet, I am close to donating it to a charity bin.
Perhaps I have set it up wrong. I am open to suggestions.
Good Product but online service could be better – A good product. The only problem was the time to get the correct product delivered. I ordered the item on line to only have it delivered in the wrong… Read more
colour. The effort it took to get the item resent and organise of the correct product was really difficult considering the cost of the item. Overall though, the item appears good.
Yamaha 1840B resolution – I bought this on the 17 July. Unboxed on 20th. Im not particularly impressed given the centre speaker crackles after about ten minutes after… Read more
starting. All wiring is correct. It is not played loud at all. Im not game enough to turn it up due to the crackling speaker. The sound is otherwise ok. Not outstanding. Next time I will stick with Logitech. I went back to Yamaha for quality. Seems its gone. Very cheap plastic speakers! Update. After emailing Yamaha they are sending out a replacement centre speaker rather than box it all up and return it to Harvey Norman. While I appreciate the gesture its not worth sending a whole unit back for one speaker.
Wow amazing. Hear detail in movies never heard before – The klipsch premier 260f speaker pack is amazing, clarity produced by the speakers is amazing. We love movies and are hearing details in movies that… Read more
we have never heard before. The speakers ability to go from a whisper quiet vocals to draw dropping action packed explosions that feel like they're shaken the room.
This is a serious home theatre speaker pack for a home theatre that packs some serious punch.
The sub is impressive being able to reproduce explosions, sub effects and add punch to a movie soundtrack.
If you want to experience Dolby atoms at home you can buy two extra speakers to go into the roof for Dolby atmos surround sound. (Extra cost)
If you are looking for a home theatre system it's worth a visit to go and listen.
Excellent sound for the price – Very happy with this soundbar. Connected seamlessly to my Samsung TV via HDMI-ARC cable. I had trouble finding a quiet Harvey Norman to test it out.… Read more
But getting it home I can happily report that sound quality is great. I also listened to the S516 and it was excellent, but not convinced it’s worth it at more than double the price.
Serves the purpose, sounds good – Easy to set up, sounds OK, missing AM a bit of a loss, but can be paired with mobile phone/Bluetooth. Fairly good bass sound (for price, $275). … Read more
Previous Panasonic 3-CD machine, CD portion had died after about 19 years. It's a smidge smaller and sounds a bit better than the previous, more bulky unit.
Denon S660H - Sounds Great..... BUT has HDMI Issues – Upgraded my Yamaha to a Denon for the 4k 120Hz function primarily as I have a few that need it and my TV doesn't have enough ports. Firstly I will… Read more
say the Denon's sound is good, it has it's own dynamic EQ which sounds insane like a Cinema and it has alot of customising options like a Yamaha.
The one MAJOR fault I've come across it is 4k 120Hz black screen issues. When I use my PC running a AMD GFX Card 4k 120Hz HDR VRR ALM........ if I switch from the desktop to a game or the game switches refresh rates on the menu to the game it can wind up with a black screen....
The only way to fix it being to switch inputs to a different input on the AVR and switch back. Get annoying that. I hope they release a firmware update to fix it but I have read that it could be a Panasonic HDMI chip that effects many brands including Sony, maybe Samsung and a few other.
It's not really fit for purpose if they advertise it can do these things and it can't so disappointing. Hopefully an update comes out to fix it as it's almost 2024 and these HDMI 2.1 issues should be well behind us by now.
I've replaced all my HDMI cables and done other testing to verify it's just the Denon. Another odd issue if u have a power saving timer on it, it will shut off and the TV will switch back to TV Speakers and when u go to resume using the TV it doesn't by default pickup the sound as it's off......... my old Yamaha used to just mute iteself to save power and would resume......... so yeah you can't basically have it turn off.
Other then that it's good, I personally don't know what I am going to do with the whole HDMI thing yet, we'll see .....

Beautiful sound and look -- but short speaker cables do not allow distancing of speakers – Difficult to find system with huge price differences - no stock in Hervey Bay. Bought from Appliance world in Sydney free delivery - much cheaper… Read more
then Harvey Normal on order! On set up i found the speakers cables to be only about 1m long --- impossible to setup a distance part in our living room to get a good stereo effect. Instructions warn not to extend them! I send an e-mail to Panasonic and received a the answer that if I have problems with my speaker connection to contact a service centre - >>>I did >>>there are no speaker extensions and spare parts are only the parts that came with the unit !
I cannot cut the cables I will lose warranty. Now I have a new Stereo set impossible to set up as a stereo set. The last Panasonic lasted 15 years --the surround speaker cables were 10 m long - but I cannot use different speakers as the impedance of the new speakers is much lower ___ Useless mini HiFi in my eyes - good set up for a small toilet cubicle
Denon AVR-X1700H Excellent audio, multizone system fail, HEOS is seriously unstable – I purchased this for a home theatre amplifier, playing CDs, Turntable and streaming from my network drive. I also purchased a Heos link to extend… Read more
music to seperate zone. Audio quality is fantastic gives new life to my old speakers. However CDs and turntable do not play though the Link and the HEOS function is appalling. The App is a mess and regularly freezes. The only fix is to unplug the amp from the wall and restart everything. This NOT the seamless intergrated music system I paid serious money for.
Absolute waste of money. System constantly drops out. I have had the system for over 12 months and have re installed the software approx 6 times to fix the issue. It will work for a few weeks then the drop out issues return. Do not buy this system. Show details
THE WORSE AMPLIFIER DOESNT WORK PROPERLY – I use to like the Denon soundbars which worked great so I decided to purchase Denon AVR-X2800H amplifier to connect to my TV and few HDMI inputs and… Read more
RCA Inputs. None of the inputs work through the TV and the RCA connections do not work either. The Tuner FM reception is so bad it only works if you stand in front of the Amplifier. The use manual page 98 says the receiver has DAB/DAB+ options to choose option and select DAB but when go to option in Tuner mode DAB/DAB+ options are not even listed. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM DENON I AM ASSUMING THE OTHER DENON AMPLIFIERS WOULD BE THE SAME.
