I lost my beautiful 18 year old cat Blacky after using this rotten medication we went to the vet to buy it and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. My cat ended up not able to stand or lift her head was vomiting. After trying to save her for 2 days and $2,700 later she’s gone. Please do yourself a favour and stay away from this product Bravecto plus our girl would still be here today if we knew better. Show details
I treated my 10-year-old healthy cat with Bravecto Plus on 7 June 2025. This was approximately the 5th time he had had the medicine, but this time, the vet believes he managed to ingest some of it, and there is no antidote for Bravecto poisoning. On… Read more
8 June, my cat started vocalising loudly. On 9 June he had a minor seizure. On 10 June he had a short but violent seizure. He continued to have brief seizures (of varying intensity) almost daily, but he recovered from each quickly. On 2 July, the seizures were lasting longer. On 3 July he had uncontrollable, multiple seizures. I took him to the hospital, where he had an MRI, blood and numerous other tests, which were all clear - there were no signs of anything wrong. He appeared to respond to treatment, but on 4 July, following more seizures, he suffered respiratory arrest followed by cardiac arrest and died. The vet said 'Bravecto does not cause seizures; it lowers the seizure threshold.' Bravecto is contraindicated for cats that suffer from seizures. If my cat had had seizures in the past, they were too minor for me to have noticed them. As far as I knew, he was 100% healthy.
Follow-up · Following up to questions: The vet's words were, as quoted, 'Bravecto does not cause seizures; it lowers the seizure threshold'. The hospital found no evidence of brain abnormalities following the MRI. Post-treatment advice: there is no antidote, so no treatment other than washing the Bravecto off the skin as thoroughly as possible. Dosage: It… Read more
In the space of a week 1 cat is dead and 1 cat was adversely affected by unfed nymph paralysis ticks.

Doesn't work, waste of money, overpriced – Doesn't work! Says it prevents ticks for 3 months but constantly found ticks on my cat. Also says it prevents paralysis ticks for 10 weeks. My cat got paralysed twice by ticks while using this product. Also both times i used it the solution leaked onto my fingers. Show details
Do NOT use this product! – Please be very aware of the severe side effect of this product. Had I read the product review I would not have applied it to my cat. I applied this product to my one-year old healthy cat. Within 30 minutes she started to become very lethargic, loss of appetite, weak, disoriented and miserable!! For 6 hours she did not move or eat or drink or make… Read more
any sound and that’s when I started to do research on this product and saw all the negative feedback. I immediately using alcohol wipe to remove the residual. 12 hours later she can walk but still does not have appetite and she started to lose lots of hairs. Her fur was patchy and she kept scratching at the spot I applied the treatment. It’s 24 hours after the application and she is still weak and lack of appetite. I strongly DO NOT recommend this poison.

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES – Bravecto Plus Spot On for Cats Medium (2.8 - 6.25kg) If I could give a rating of ZERO stars I would. Please do NOT ever use this product!!! The first dose was given by my vets when I took my cat in for a checkup as she had been ripping out her fur. My cat was 12 years old at the time. The vets found a flea and said she had a flea allergy which a… Read more
blood test confirmed. I continued to give her this product. By the 3rd dose she was annoyed by her left ear scratching at it as if there was something in it and ended up with a left head tilt. She also started to have balance issues leaning to the left side, walking as if drunk (ataxia). The vets examined my cats ears and they were both fine. By the 4th dose she was hardly eating and hiding a lot. Balance issues became way worse. She was not herself, she was irritable. We were watching her slowly change, she was suffering, she was struggling and we couldn't make her better as the damage had already been done and was continuing to harm her. It was only during this time I finally realised what was happening and that it was related to the Bravecto Plus we had been giving her. Long story short my cat ended up severely dehydrated requiring admission to the vets with iv fluids & antibiotics and tube feeding (this was 3+ months after 4th dose). She weighed about 3kgs at this time. Eventually she needed to be euthanased (4 months after 4th dose). She had elevated liver enzymes, enlarged liver and enlarged heart. She was only 13 years old. We tried so hard to save her spending $3000 at the vets. Unfortunately the toxic ill effects from using this product with NO ANTIDOTE nothing could be done. Please please please RESEARCH this product before using it. Don't just accept that it's OK because your vets are recommending it and using it. IT KILLS sometimes quickly and sometimes painfully slowly. Thousands of pets have died, or had seizures, or had to be euthanased. Thousands of pets world-wide. Don't let your pet be one of them. I wasn't given the option of using a safer flea treatment for my cats flea allergy. If I had of been told of the risks associated with using Bravecto Plus on my cat I would have chosen something a lot safer. I wasn't given the choice. Use Bravecto Plus as a last resort if nothing else is working for your cat.
A terrible product – My cat had a negative reaction. Lost fur around neck, belly and legs. Had to apply cream around his red skin to calm him down. Would never recommend this product. Show details
Bad and waste money – I purchased this product to treat ear mites and did absolutely nothing and it’s was a waste of money and time Show details
Dangerous! DO NOT BUY – Beware! This product made my cat SO sick to the point I had to take her to the animal hospital and spent almost 2k on medical bills. It caused her to be very lethargic, feverish, loss of appetite, weak, stopped purring, disoriented and miserable!! Her fur was patchy and she kept scratching at the spot I applied the treatment. It's toxic to a lot of cats, some react very badly. I strongly DO NOT recommend this poison. Never ever buying it again!! Show details
allergic/adverse reaction fur loss and scratching – First time I used this product but have used other spot-on products with no problems. shortly after putting this on one cat she started loosing fur around the neck where the product was applied and was noticing small clumps of her fur in places I haven't seen before. There is about an inch of fur missing from the back of her neck over all the back… Read more
part of her neck and she has been scratching it. I can't apply any medication to it as I have other cats who might lick the medication and become ill. There is no warnings on the web site for this product about the risk of allergic or adverse reactions. impossible to contact this company by phone, just end up endlessly on hold. Vet bill was $81 for this diagnosis. Too soon to know if there will be long term consequences.
If I could give 0 stars, I WOULD!!!! – My 10 year old cat Joey was treated with Bravecto. I applied medication as instructed. 2 weeks later, she is having 15-20 seizures per day. Vet did full check up, including blood work, and found nothing else wrong with her. Please read and fully consider all the warnings/ risks before choosing medication for your pets. Show details

Serious side effects and shedding – Strong product, cat was very wary and acted abnormally the same day we applied the product. The following day, she started scratching the spot applied on and shedding excessively. I have attached an image. Ridiculous that this product is being sold in stores!!! It has to be taken down asap!!!! Also only found out that there was a class action… Read more

Excellent – My cat had licked the fur off her legs and stomach and was constantly itching. I went to the vet numerous times for different treatments and was eventually sent to a specialist dermatologist. Another 6 months of expensive elimination diet and other treatments with the cost escalating. She was eventually put on an immunosuppressant drug that she… Read more
hated. About 6 months later my other indoor cat started showing same symptoms. By chance I saw another vet and he told me it looked like flea allergy and try bravecto plus, my current flea treatment was known not to work on fleas in my area. I dosed both cats and cautiously stopped the other medication. To my utter surprise bravecto was the answer and itching stopped. No adverse side affects, both cats are 16. Three monthly application is very convenient. The only downside is it leaves a sticky residue for days, but this is nothing compared to no itching.
ALL THESE REVIEWS TRIED TO SCARE ME FROM USING THIS PRODUCT! I USED IT AND MY CATS WERE FINE! – I was given Bravecto Plus for my 2 cats from my vet as they have been biting, overgrooming and digging at their skin. Well, I went online to read about Bravecto and all of the reviews tried to scare me from using it. In fact, I waited 2 weeks before using this product because I was torn whether it was safe or not, or would kill my cats. I… Read more
watched over 20 videos on this and read countless websites on this topic. What I discovered is that a lot of the problems found from this, or other flea treatment products, is from people giving the wrong dose or from people using flea treatments for dogs on cats. My cats itching began to get worse - I cautiously gave them Bravecto Plus for large cats and they were absolutely fine! After 72 hours their conduct changed and they stopped digging and scratching. All this time I was scared to death to use this product from a few who try to scare everyone - the truth is that there are millions of people with good results that never write reviews. I felt it important to write this for anyone who was tortured like me about using this product - it actually is a really great product and I would suggest you try it. I also watched several videos on this and I remember in one of them, the guy said that this product actually saved his cat's life because the cat was in such distress from the fleas that he would not eat or sleep. Within 48 hours his cat completely changed. I've already seen a change in how my cats act - I'm certain now that they had fleas, even though they are indoor cats - they can still get them. So please don't believe everything that you read on here - this is a great product and has helped millions of animals get relief from fleas and ticks.
Skin reaction – Applied to the back of neck as per instructions. Cat scratched clumps of hair out until bleeding. Manufacturer and pet supply shop not interested. No refund offered. No reaction past 2 yrs on this Show details
One of my cats died – Gave the treatment to my two 8 month old kittens yesterday morning, in the evening I found one of them dead. Nothing else in his day was unusual, except for this treatment. Please research this before you give to your pet, if I had, I would not have administered it, and my kitten might still be alive Show details
Waste of money – Purchased 3 Bravecto plus blue/cats to try on 3 cats in different environments. Did not work on any of them, followed instructions exactly as have used flea treatments before had to purchase different brand to get desired result of getting rid of fleas. Show details
Use only if you want to make your cat VERY sick! – Since applying this to my healthycat......he has been sick as a dog. Lethargic, initially excessively thirsty but would not eat, now little oral intake. I will NEVER recommend this product. Show details
No to Bravecto Plus – I thought this product worked well until one of my cats started to lose hair. It got to the stage where I noticed him pulling out mouthfuls! I took the cat to the vet and told him I suspected the Bravecto Plus; he examined the cat for fungal/ringworm and did a skin scrape. He agreed it is possible the Bravect and I returned the next supply I… Read more
bought from him days earlier to top-up their flea and tick treatment. My cat is now on Niralone and his hair loss has stopped. Now I am very worried what to get my cats against ticks and flees in the area?
Bravecto spot-on flea, tick & worm treatment – We have had numerous issues in the past with both giving flea treatment and worming tabs to our cats. Worming tablets never stayed down and one cat always reacted badly to flea treatment often ending up pulling out his fur (Ragdoll/Manx breed). Bravecto Plus is FANTASTIC! With a single treatment both fleas, ticks and worms are sorted for 3months… Read more
meaning just 4 treatment events per year. Don’t believe any flea treatment is ‘ideal’ but Bravecto Plus is the best option for our family.
