I have a breville bsk200c should it have a back light when on, as when weighing its not bright enough to see the weight?

CR2032 lithium batteries. They are expensive but never buy cheap Chinese batteries as they stuff up the electronics and only last a week or two.

how to recalibrate !??

It should recalibrate when you push the unit button to measure mls, ozs or grams. Push the zero button (tare function) to get the weight of an ingredient and push again to get the weight of each additional ingredient. When you remove the weighing dish & ingredient, the scales will return to zero.

I love my scales but have just realised they are 15gm out on weighing stuff. There are new batteries in there, How do I go about calibrating them please? My e mail is chrislush001@gmail.com. Thank you in advance.

My Breville scales gave accurate readings for 3 years and then I noticed some obviously wrong amounts being registered. Also the scales went through batteries at a furious rate. I made the mistake of buying cheap Chinese made batteries which saw the scales give even worse results. I ditched my scales after trying different reputable brand batteries and getting only brief improvements.

Breville BSK200 scale. Battery voltage is 2.9V so should be operating, it does not show on LED screen. It seems it has a built in redundancy and looking at other comments here, it is a common fault that Breville should acknowledge. Was bought in June 2018 so out of 12 Month warranty. Poor quality. Was good when working, has had very little use.

Apart from checking they are in the correct way, I’m not sure why. Is it possible to take it back to the store of purchase?m

I found when I used cheap and nasty batteries from Cheap as Chips, the scales went haywire and gave different readings. They also conked out within a few weeks. Throw them out and buy reputable brand batteries.

my breville kitchen scale was working perfectly last week .i have recently put a new battery in it but today the weight platform does not seem to be responding to measurement. the LCD panel appears to be working however i notice on the left hand side a little circle is displayed . I cannot recall this being there in the past and dont seem to be able to rid of it. Please could you advise me what the problem may be. thank you

I have had the same experience. All was working well and then it went haywire. I replaced the battery three times but the scale still did not work. I attempted to contact Breville but got no help. I ended up throwing the unit away.

I have purchased brevelle kitchen scale from briscos model BSK200C. I didn’t go back when the scale started playing up. I changed the battery twice thinking that was the problem. Almost that connection is not right. My son has given me a new one because when my grandchildren come to visit it is important to have a scale that works all the time not just sometimes. My grandson is diabetic on insulin pump and it is so important to have it working properly as it is important for his carbohydrates count. I have gone back to Briscos sometimes last year , they couldn’t do anything because I did not have a docket. I am not sure what was the guarantee or warranty on your product. All I know it didn’t work properly for very long and my son has given me new one just after Christmas.

I purchased my scale of this model in 2015 and it came with a 5-year warranty. However, in recent years, this model only comes with 12-month warranty. If you want, you can ring up or email Breville company and ask. There is a particular number of the batch you bought. They are able to check for you to see if it is still within the warranty period. But without a tax invoice, good luck!

The unit takes 2 x CR2032 button cells readily available at supermarkets.

When I turn on the power, the scale shows 0 and then goes1934, then if I then press Unit the scale shows 200 1 kg

So not possible to measure. I have changed the batteries e but still get the same. Any ideas?

Sounds like the surface is not flat (i.e. table top, kitchen bench etc.). Better check the surface to see if it is flat. Or, check the feet section under the scale to make sure nothing is loose and all the protective things are removed properly.

The table surface is perfectly flat and horizontal. I still get the 1934 and 200 readings when turning on and trying zero. The temperature reading is OK and the timer works. It looks as if the scale is useless. Should I throw it in the wast bin?

My Breville BSK200R scales show "ERR" when I put anything heavier than 2Kg on it, even although it suppose to weigh up to 5Kg. Anything that I can try to do before returning it for repair?

This is a small scale for kitchen use. It is not designed for weighing bigger boxes or things. Try to put something small and heavy in the centre of this scale. It shall work fine. I have done that and it worked. However, if you want to use it to weigh bigger sized boxes, it only works for boxes that can be put in the centre of the scale whilst you are still able to read the weight measurement. Otherwise you can pretty much forget it for other purposes.

can I use lir2032 rechargeable batteries in the BSK200?

they are 3.6v not 3v

If not is there a 3v rechargeable battery I can use?

painful part is I had digital kitchen scale and it's batteries lasted years. I gave it away when I got this heap of battery burning rubbish free with a breville mixer. Silly me.
