Great fridge at a great price

DC230-X

The whole process of purchasing and receiving my fridge was flawless, it was easy to install and has outperformed my expectations, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another Bushmans fridge if the need arose.

Purchased in for $2,700.

Best decision by a Country Mile.

DC230-X

Living off-grid in the Southern Downs mountains for the past five years our little chest fridge finally got the wife riled, so we splashed out and bought the upright Bushman DC230. We reviewed other cheaper imported brands but we chose the Bushman because of 1. Made in Australia 2. Three year warranty 3. Easy to understand user manual. 4. Comprehensive data on battery and solar panel requirements. 5. It even comes with a 50A Anderson Plug (Unbelievable). 6. Installation instructions were detailed and easy to follow. After Install at 3pm in the afternoon it quickly dropped temperature overnight to 4C by morning. You know what they say about a happy wife......happy life.

Can’t give it a star

DC130-X

I’m so disappointed in this lovely looking fridge. Have a huge issue with freeze. Stupid little pin to hold door flap one has broken. It continuously freezes out and in. There is no drip tray. So water goes on produce in fridge.
Wished I had never bought. I saved up for this as was recommended. I’m a pensioner.
Bet you don’t allow this in review.

Used to have an Engel fridge
The bushman is way easier to find and see stuff in the fridge and I don’t have to use a drop down slide. Should have done it years ago!

Top option!

Bought this fridge to replace an existing fridge in our gooseneck. Works fantastic! Even in the North Qld heat. Runs fine on our solar panels in transit.

Great beer fridge

DC85-X

Have set the fridge on four, works very well at that temp. I have put a frame over the fridge which keeps out direct sunlight, works very well. It sits in the back of my bt50 and used as a beer fridge.

Questions & Answers

Mike C. ·  · DC130-X

Hi there
We are on our first longish trip with our Bushman’s DC130-X and been very happy with it. Have had it running on 4. The freezer started building up ice and found out that the ice build up broke the plastic ‘door pin’ that attaches the door to the body of the freezer compartment. A bit of a compounding situation where the ice built up more after the door pin broke off. Has anyone else had this issue?
Cheers,
Mike

My bushman SC35/52 has been running faultless for the past 2 years.
All of a sudden i have power to the fridge, but the fridge isn't getting cold. Inside temp shows 27c i have tried unplugging and checking connection which seems fine.
What could be causing this issue.
So annoying when we have been getting warm weather.

Hi C.M.
Thanks for your question.
There could be a couple of things to check. Most common is power supply. Try running the fridge form a different power supply, or in a different vehicle with the engine running. Turn the fridge on and look in through the top vents, there is a red LED near the compressor electronic module that will flash. If you then call us 03 8080 9990 and we will know what to do next. Cheers, Tommy

Thank you for your response.
I plug it in to a wall socket and it runs fine.
So tells me my battery is the issue.
So glad it isn't the fridge as they are a great unit.

I have had my fridge for about 12 months. It seems to be keeping everything cold or frozen, I have set mine at 3.5.
However I am having problems with the shelves sliding/shifting forward and food falling down the back, as well as the shelving dislodging from their wall tracks. This is happening on either road, gravel, or outback terrain. What can be done to stop the shelves moving?
Secondly, 2 of the shelf racking support bars have broken/snapped, is there a quick fix or do they have to be replaced completely?

Hi Allan,
We can help you with this!
First up, send us an email to info@bushman.com.au and we can organise some new shelves for your fridge.
Second up, when you get them, you will notice the side rails are slotted half way along. These sides are designed to be bent outwards to put force on the rails to hold them in place.
Cheers, Tommy

Hi I haven't even had my fridge for that long and the first trip shelves kept falling off, absolutely a useless design and will never buy one again

Bushman Fridges

Hi Michael, the shelves are slotted on each side, so you can adjust the amount of pressure on each shelf. This will stop them sliding forward. Tommy

  • Available in 50L, 65L, 85L or 130L capacities, allowing you to cater to unique space requirements.

Points of praise for the Bushman DC-X Series

  • While these fridges are less portable than others of their kind (as they’re also designed for built-in use), reviewers praised their compact design, which still affords a generous amount of storage space.
  • Reviewers also appreciated the low power consumption and energy-efficient performance, no matter how high the mercury on the barometer rises.
  • Bushman products are also known for quick and helpful customer service. These fridges come with a three-year warranty.
