Canon Legria HF R26
Verified1 review
What you pay for is what you get – Will never believe the hype from Canon and store reviews again. An never rely on a retailer to guide you. I expected more from Camera House, but this camera was a total waste of money. Performs OK so long as the lighting is near perfect. OK performance in the middle of the lens range - too wide or too much zoom image deteriorates in different ways.
1. Always use a tripod if you are using the zoom off wide angle. Image Stabilization is just not up to scratch
2. Only use on bright sunny days and perfect conditions.
3. Poor detail in shadows.
4. Bright Cloudy day performance introduces artifacts and noise.
5. Low light (Halogen 8 x 50w in a room) Noisy!
6. Very uncomfortable to use for long periods.
7. OK as a quick snap camera, but can by similar quality for around $129.00 or less.
8. Should have gone for a Panasonic or JVC.
9. Wide angle vigettes around the top of frame severly.
10. Severe Image Disortion at 20x Optical Zoom even when place on a heavy tripod. Never use the Digital Zoom it is a total waste even with a pro tripod.
11. Poor Battery use 1hr per battery at most!!
12. Batteries are $160 each!!!!!
13. White Balance is VERY unreliable and does NOT keep colour temp even under constant temperature studio lights.
Camera House and Canon not at all interested. Basically said "Buyer beware". Can't try camera in store. Never again!
Definitely not worth the premium price over the cheaper cameras around $100.00.... Better to pay just over say $1000 for a camera with really good noise characteristics like the Panasonic Reasonable performance in mid focal lengths and near perfect lighting Over-hyped, poor ergonomics, poor stabilization, poor performance in less than ideal lighthing
