Canon MG6460 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy printer is showing a support code of B200
What ink cartridges does this printer take?
My scanner will not scan multiple pages. It also won't save profile changes
My printer started printing "shadow/double" text letters, numbers & symbols. Exact black duplicates are printed off-set by 0.5mm horizontally. No smudging, just sharp double text. Text on Printer Test Page is 100% affected. Inside txt files 20% of rows are crisp, 80% is in double print Inside doc files, fancy fonts print 100% correct. Images do print perfect. I did the several head alignments. Printer is a Canon MG6460.
I am having trouble scanning documents after upgrading from Windows7 to 10
Canon MG6400 series is coming up with problem 1004 ? any solutions please? Criss
Can i scan negatives?
I have never tried, but I doubt it. You would just end up with a digital image of what the negative looks like. I think you would have to get the negative developed first and then scan the photo.
Likewise... I have not attempted this. In the past I have had success using a Canoscan 5000F, which is a flat-bed scanner. It had the added advantage that you could scan 35 mm film, 35 mm slides...etc., in either positive or negative form. It was especially designed to pass light through the film... whereas I suspect the MG6460 uses light reflected from the image rather than passed through it.
Just bought new MG6460. It can print wirelessly from my computer... but I cannot scan back to the computer.. it does not recognise the computer. What should I do?
Hi Al, in spite of returning printer to place of purchase, where they told me it must be my computer! and then paying to have computer serviced! the printer still refuses to scan to computer! Printing documents and photos works fine, although hate having to change paper all the time when printing photos. Last printer held both A4 and photo paper and used either as needed.
Looking at changing brands as I don't mind paying more, just want one that works!!
I now seem to have solved my problem. Found out how to 'instal' the printer on my MacBook. Access from MacBook to Scanner uses Image Capture. I am now happy that this printer does all I need, enabling me to connect wirelessly. I agree with Spoony though that the feeding of various printer media is not as convenient on the MG6460 as it was on my older Canon MP610 printer which can feed A4 sheets from the rear stack, and also store 4"x 6" photo paper in the cassette drawer underneath. Al.
I purchased a pixma mg6460. I would like to save a manual in pdf format to a folder on my laptop. Can i do this, and if so, how? All i can find is an online manual
I am using a macbook with the latest OS. I was able to download a file called mpml-mac-mg6400-1_2-en.dmg On opening that file I found 4 separate manuals; I opened each of them in turn and saved them to my desktop, and then placed them in a new folder on the desktop.
Thank you very much, Al. Have now downloaded the manuals! I don't know why Canon makes this so difficult in the first place.
I recently replaced my Canon MP630 printer with a Canon MG6460. The old printer was getting to the stage where major repairs were getting close to being needed (duplex function, paper feed, etc.), but I suspect the cost of repairs is more than the cost of the printer.
Setup of the MG6460 was pretty easy, and I especially like the wifi connection for my PC and notebook (don't have to swap over the USB cable connections). I used to use the CD/DVD printer facility on the 630, but as DVD's are going out of fashion, I can survive without this.
One problem!
I used to scan newspaper articles, etc. and crop the particular item before saving in PDF format.
How can I do this with the MG6460?
Hi Scottie I am still to discover how to do this!! Finally got scanner to work but now can't work out where scan has been saved to, or indeed how to scan to documents. I will have to keep trying! Shouldn't be so hard, never had this problem before with a printer!
