Where can I buy a new print head for my Canon Pixma MG7160? I have had it for some years and apart from being a bit slow and clunky I have been reasonably happy with it. However, for the last few months it has suffered the dreaded B200 “virus”. I have removed the print head a few times and cleaned it but after a few weeks the problem returns. With the latest return it has not responded to the cleaning “fix”. As I loath adding to the e-waste problem and the printer is otherwise ok I would like to try and fix it. Also, it’s not so long ago I put a new set of ink cartridges in it!

How can I overide the support code 1660. I have tried the stop button but it only comes on when turn the printer on and it only comes on for a second as it's a highlighted button. I have all new ink cartridges in and still can't get to the set up menu to rest back to factory settings cause I can't get the support code off the LCD screen. Please help?

I'm trying to print a label on a DVD with Canon MG7160. I haven't done this for a while & am missing a move that corrects the problem of printing on half the disc. Seems to line up well on disc until the Preview comes up when picture doesn't align properly with the disc. What do I have to alter?

My Canon MG7160 is playing up, when I print a document or photo it is printing two rows lighter than normal and then one dark (which is the color it normally prints). I have done all the cleaning procedures that the printer suggests. I spoke to a man at a printer stationary place he seems to think that the drum of the printer is worn. What is your opinion?

An naswer in case... The MG7160 doesn't have a drum. Drums are used in laser printers. How does the test print look? Does the issue appear on black and white printing? Is the issue limited to one colour? You need to remove the print head and clean the ink passages thoroughly.

How do I get the printer to print from tray 2

My MG7160 is printing every few lines of text blurry. So a page of text will have 1-2 lines of correctly printed text and then 1-2 lines of distorted, blurry text down the page. Doesn't matter what device I print from. Test page from Mac also does this. I've cleaned the heads, realigned and done everything I can think of but there's no improvement. Can anyone help please?

It appears that if you confine yourself to photo print mode it solves this problem. Only problem is that printing is slower.

I have a Canon MG 7160 which had a message the ink absorber was almost full. I notice black printing was getting poorer. Have removed cleaned and replaced and reset printer. I am getting colour printing on page but no black printing? What to do next? Graham

RE "cleaned and replaced and reset printer": How did you do that? Anyway sounds like the black ink cartidge is fauly or the black ink passages in the head are clogged. "Deep" clean may help. And to save deep cleaning all the ink passages, there is a maintenance option in the print app that can be set to deep clean black only.

Honestly I have no clue, never attempted to do that. However, if you have the original manual it may indicate how to do that. Failing this, you should be able to find on the internet the "electronic" manual for downloading or even better a "Youtube" video showing how to do it. Good luck!

My printer is printing in colour green when I choose Black and White. I have replaced all ink cartridges. How can I fix this?

I suggest that you do a printer head clean, you can do that through your interactive screen. Then print a color test page and check the colour matches what it should be. Also check that the cartridges are in the correct order (in the correct slot).

Thank you. I did this and that the magenta cartridge wasn’t properly installed.

My Canon MG7160 has suddenly stopped printing. It comes up with a B200 message. How can I correct the problem? I've tried WiFi and cable. I've uninstalled the printer and reloaded it, but still no joy! Cheers

Never had this problem myself. Searched with Google and found this site: inkhub.com.au The dreaded B200 Error on your Canon Printer usually indicates that the print head has died! Before you go trashing the printer or buying a new one try some of the following suggestions. 1. Remove all ink cartridges and re install new ones. 2. Remove Print Head and thoroughly clean all of the gold contacts on the print head itself. When re installing the print head make sure that the ribbon cable connector is firmly plugged in to the print head itself (this usually applies to older models). 3. When the print head is out thoroughly clean it by flushing all ink out under the hot water tap. This video may help - Print head Cleaning 4. Next method to try is to reload the printers drivers as the B200 error code can be caused in some cases by a corrupted Driver. 5. Try turning the printer off and unplugging it at the wall for at least 2 hours. Sometimes this can work. 6. If all else fails please follow the instructions on this video. 7. Purchase a new Print Head from canon and install it yourself. (this is not recommended as it is usually not much more expensive to buy a new printer). You can also view some good videos on YouTube. Good luck!

When I want to print a document from my photos stream the printer keeps reverting to the top cartridge and telling me there is no paper in it. How do I get to print anything from my photos using the bottom cartridge when there is paper in it?
