My Canon Pixma MP220 is running very slowly, both for printing and copying, can you suggest a reason or a way to service the achine. It is printing very well, so no problem there.

Sorry I have no idea, you could perhaps do a maintenance check but as it is printing well that may not help. With the current prices on printers it is not worth getting it serviced, I have just purchased a new Canon MG2560 for $40 delivered from JB Hi fi and can recommend it.
