Category Choice

This gift card is deceptive in how it works. You purchase a gift card in a "category" and then you can only use that gift card at certain retailers. There is no list of retailers in which you can use the card. The retailers have a nebulous category assigned to them that you as a consumer would have absolutely no way of knowing. The onus is left to the consumer, to go into a shop that you guess might me related to the category and attempt to use the gift card. The transaction will fail if the category doesn't match and from my experience the categories are nonsense. I purchased a Health and Wellness gift card assuming that I could use it at my gym. But the gym is classified under the department store category.

Now I have worthless card that can only be used at really specific retailers and no way to obtain a refund. There is also no way of changing which category the gift card can be used for. The company will not refund as they treat the gift cards as "cash".

Just be extra careful buying any gift card from this company, I would not recommend anyone use this company but if you do, call them up and ask about the category of the retailers you want to spend at. To me that makes this useless as a gift, as the person you gifted to has no way of knowing which retailers will be accepted. You'd be gifting stress and anxiety.
