Healthy and yummy – Covid has changed many habits, and some are improvements from the norm. For me, Yum Cha was an increasingly expensive ritual. Here in Sydney, the prices had been steadily rising.....$18, $20, $25, now over $30 per person for a decent Yum Cha. I mean, this is "brunch". I could get a mini banquet for as much, and have dessert and fruit thrown in at the end. So, being house-bound for so long, one tries to emulate "going out", without leaving home...I found this little beauty of a steamer on eBay, from a local vendor in Melbourne. All stainless steel, two tray steamer, and a third tray to keep the production line going. It worked a treat. My wife and I were able to make 6 full trays of rice noodles with savoury pork mince so quickly....under 15 min once the batter was made, and the water boiling. It's a little fiddly to wash clean because of the many corners, but who's in any hurry? I used it on top of my gas cooktop.....perfect! Under $60 including postage from "yinyinnewbeauty"
