This Freezer heats up the room – Nearly everything else about this freezer is great. It is much wider and deeper than the previous freezer I had but only 11L more in capacity which isn't a big deal for me. The real problem is that the room the freezer is in is now consistently 1-2 degrees C more than previously. While it was cooling itself down initially it was so hot the room, even with the air conditioner on, felt stifling. The sides were very hot to the touch. This unit has great star ratings (as a refrigerator 5 and as a freezer 4.5 stars) but if I need to use more cooling for most of the year (I live in a very hot area) then any savings on power would be lost or worse.

Yes, I read the booklet so I read that information, and there is also at least 50mm back and sides. I thought it was important information for people to have. I will be returning the freezer asap. If I needed a fridge I would use it for that and it may not emit as much heat. Thank you for responding.

Good morning CJ, Thank you for your feedback. The fridge condenser in this model (the part that transfers the heat to the exterior) is locating on both sides of cabinet. The heat is coming from the condenser and the copper tubing leading up to it.
It is normal to feel warmer especially in summer or hot area.
The unit needs a ventilation space of around 50mm (2 inches) of space at the sides and the rear.
