Coles Gift Mastercard Questions & Answers
VerifiedBought a 250 dollar Mastercard prepaid giftcard from Coles today but when i tried using it on Paypal & Aliexpress it wouldn't work
Need to register the card in my name to use it to pay PayPal
Is a A gift to shop everywhere allowed to be used at woolworths
Yes but those cards tend to request a signature. Which doesn’t matter. The staff member will have you sign a piece of paper at the register.
I have a Prepaid Gift Coles Mastercard with $100 on it. It will not work. I have contacted the customer service number on the back and they have been no help whatsoever saying I have to contact the provider.
Where is it not working? Some places don’t accept this kind of payment method. However it could just be an activation issue and you or the person who gifted it to you needs to return to the place they purchased it from and tell them they haven’t activated it correctly
Coles supermarkets
I was gifted a Coles prepaid Mastercard but cannot use it as I don't know the pin ? There is supposed to be a scratch panel on the back of the card, but there isn't one.
They don’t have a pin. If it asks you for a pin when you make a purchase, just press ok/enter & it will go through. I’ve used a few of these lately that I got for christmas & they work without pin. Although some stores may request a signature. Which to me is silly as it’s a gift card.
Thank you. I'll try that next time at the shops.
No worries! :-)
I have two fraudulent cards and reported them 3 months ago now, mybalance now saying both cases are now resolved. two phone calls today to find out how and when and both times line disconnected!
Where do you find the access code for the per paid cards
And what is the pin? Everything says there is a scratch panel on the back of the card....there is not! So confusing.
i’m trying to check the balance of my card but it’s not linked up to my email nor i know the activation code
You need the card number, PIN on the back and 3 digit security code I think.
The access code has to be 6 numbers long
I have found a Coles MasterCard gift card which someone may have lost. Can this be returned to a Coles store to find owner?
There is no record of who bought the card if it's bought by cash. If it's bought with a credit card, it's very hard to find the owner if you cannot tell which supermarket was used to buy the card. I suggest you (a) go to external link . This website SOMETIMES works, mostly it does not. If it works, input the card number and expiry details. This will tell you what the balance is. If it is zero, then the card has been used up and there is no need to try to contact Coles. If you do not see a balance, then either the website is (as often is the case), not working or the card owner filed a dispute and asked the card to be stopped (when disputes or requests to stop the card are filed, the card is suspended and the balance cannot be seen online); or (b) you can call Coles Customer Service (sorry I don't have their number) and tell them about the card you found; or (c) (this is better than (b) in my experience) drop the card at any Coles supermarket. In case Coles ever follows up the matter, I suggest you keep a record of the card number; expiry date, name of who at Coles you spoke to or gave the card to. Nice to see you're an honest person. There aren't too many around.
Thank you for you detailed and quick response. Better than Harvey Norman waiting for over a month about a gift card that was sucked up into space without receiving my product lol Many thanks again
Tried to use Cole’s gift card at Bunnings and it came up an error code
Good luck trying to sort out!! Try the Gold Coast help phone number, I think listed on the card (which isn't the Gold Coast at all....) and give them the error code and see if they will help. I'll never buy again after my bad experience.
If you used it with a PIN, try using it without a PIN. Mine only worked without using a PIN.
How can I find my pin?
There should be a link to see your card (or similar) in the email they sent...the pin is shown either on the front or back
How can I find out balance of my gift for you card prepaid MasterCard?

Call the Coles help centre and when prompted to say which department you want to choose say "gift cards " even though it is not offered as a choice then tell them or alternatively you can call heritage bank Australia
i still cant get any help. Have emailed a few times now and no reply at all. Can anyone advise what the telephone number is to contact them, its getting very frustrating now, thank you.
hi I have purchased a coles prepaid mastercard $100 and have tried to add it to my paypal account but it keeps saying its declined by the issuer. Can you please help?
i've just tried to link another coles prepaid mastercard to paypal and i have received an error message saying that the card is already linked to another paypal account. I literally just opened the card this morning. i have been on call waiting on their customer service line for 26 mins, then someone picked up and said that they had to transfer my call because he wasn't authorised to take calls on pre-paid master cards and was told that i would be put through to another customer service representative immediately - when i agreed to the transfer i was put back on hold still on hold .... now and its 38 mins already
Can the Coles Mastercard Gift Card be used at Ikea or Goodguys? Is there a limit as to how many can be used?

Hi Can the A Gift To Shop Everywhere gift card be used at petrol stations?
Yes you have to swipe the card on their eftpos machine. This is like a prepaid credit card and not giftcard for certain stores.
We received 2x $50 prepaid coles Mastercards for Xmas from my Mum who paid an extra $5 on each as activation fee's. One of the cards I eventually got to work but the second one wouldn't. After many lengthy wait time phone calls to the so called customer care line where I was cut off, transferred to nowhere and put through to an automated customer survey I was told to email a copy of the original receipt and the front and back of the card. Many emails later I was then told the original cardboard packaging the card came in was needed as it had the 30 number barcode on it and unless I have this there's nothing that can be done. Who keeps the packaging a gift card comes in???? I'm so unhappy with coles and the time, effort and frustration this has caused me.
These cards are supplied by the Heritage bank a bank in Queensland If you log in to the gift card site you can check its status either active and what funds are on it If you find it isn't active you get onto Coles customer care onto Coles customer care If you find as I did that it's funds had been withdrawn illegally get onto Heritage bank fraud and kick up a stink I got my $250 gift card that had been hacked of all funds replaced this way The call centre for the cards is rubbish
I too have had problems getting the balance on my cards when logging into colesmastercardbalance.com.au. It is a nightmare. Everytime I try, I get the 'system error' message. To make matters worse, they have now added an extremely challenging Captcha to complete. I've rung up the number, on the back of the card, and was given a Case ID, and told to send a photo of front and back of card, plus a photo of receipt for cards purchased. Ive done this, but as yet have not heard anything. The last cards I've purchased, even get declined when I go to use them, even though I haven't used the balance up yet. Someone needs to be responsible for this fiasco, as its robbery!
Do l have to activate my coles pre paid purple gift card?
No it should have been activated when you payed for it at the Coles checkout
Do you use card out for the package or in the package
It has to be removed from its package as it is a swipe card
