Direct Replacement camera does not work on CONCORD system?? – CONCORD Security System Failure July 2024. I have a CONCORD DVR/CAM kit 1080P 4CH + 4PIR Cam purchased from Jaycar New Zealand The complete system has been performing perfectly since purchase. BUT a builder saturated one camera with water, and of course it has failed. So I purchased a replacement camera from Jaycar NZ now here's the problem,… Read more ·  1

The new camera wont allow the PIR function to work on my system. The failure point is non compatibility with my Camera System as follows. The camera is labelled 2MP HD Analog PIR Bullet Camera Model CDC2ABP-A. When connected to the Concord system it shows perfect images but will not trigger to PIR at all. It triggers to PTZ okay. When I interrogate the Set=up Menu and click on the Channel PIR set up, a message is shown on screen as NO SUPPORT for PIR Configuration. I also notice that when all cameras are showing "Live" on the monitor the old cameras have the letters in the top left hand corner:- A-CHx, but the new camera has showing T-CHx, This would appear to indicate that the new camera is revealing to the main system its identity and model number??

Has anyone experienced this problem where a replacement camera does not work yet its model and type are the same as those installed and working????

I have sent this question to CONCORD but no replies are forth coming...

Rubbish product – Too hard to setup. After 2 months with no support have de-installed. Worst product support ever.

Jaycar, the importers and retailers have been manifestly unhelpful, to say the least – To be fair, the product may be quite ok. We bought a three camera NVR system plus spare batteries from the Werribee store. We soon realised we needed help to configure the system so I went back to the store , they couldn't help so we rang the phone number on the box which was Jaycar, who are the importers and retailers in Sydney, they couldn't… Read more

help either, they referred us to their web site which, as it turns out, doesn't include our NVR system, so we are stuck with a pile of expensive junk along the front of our house. Great, thanks Jaycar.

Cumbersome – It has taken me 5 hours to try and set this up. The system settings are a nightmare and I still connect connect to the app on my phone. I'm sticking with Arlo. It might cost more but at least it works. Show details

Terrible don’t buy – I have the v-2 version which is the latest one i wanted to buy a PTZ camera for it but was told by Jaycar where I bought it that they know nothing about PTZ cameras i was told by both Jaycar and concord that it doesn’t even have a connection for a PTZ camera but I insisted it does and it shows in the manual that it does and then they both said oh… Read more

ok now we’ve looked at the manual your model does have a connection but they don’t have PTZ cameras to sell and don’t know what type or where I could get one. Pardon me? The company that sells a product doesn’t know anything about it? What the hell?. This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with just a joke, it’s also very difficult to get them on the phone and they don’t reply to emails absolute joke of a company do not buy warning

we purchase for your front gate - we are on a farm and we had to run the 60m length wire. the camera's kept dropping out – trying to talk to concord was the worst- we spent over 1 1/2 on hold twice without been answered. Sent a message thru the website. got an email back with 4 hours but had to send a response and after a week still no response back. after 2 weeks finally got to talk to a technician, he couldn't fix the issue. we have fixed it ourselves. Show details

Fan noise is unacceptable – Bought a Concord system last week to replace a dying Swann unit. Assured Concord was not a re-branded Swann and was Jaycars own brand. Plugged it all in as the connections were identical to the Swann. But the fan noise is stupidly loud!!!. Took the cover off both the Concord and Swann units. They are identical, apart from a couple of diferent… Read more

chips, and the cooling fan moved from the middle of the box to the edge. Stuck with it now, (I painted the cameras), but really unhappy with this purchase.

OK except the box fan extremely noisy – For the price the quality is pretty good but the fan in the box is rediculously noisy. We had to locate the box in the TV room, not a good move. The fan drives us nuts, so much so that a family member turned it off for three days. And of course during that time a neighbour came over and asked if he could check our recordings because of an incident at his home.which just happened to occur during those three days!! Show details

1/4 star ratings aren't possible :( – This Concord CDK4242P-A CCTV system is at best, EXTREMELY clunky! The user settings are extremely difficult to work around. Jaycar aren't interested in helping and their response is poor! This system is only useable on mobile devices and if you try to use it on PC you have to use a REALLY OLD version of internet explorer because it won't… Read more

work with any other browser (including edge) AND it is an extremely tedious process to get it to work on PC.

Windows 11 just came out but they want us to use something really old such as windows XP to function with this camera.

Vision is OK in average daylight but at nighttime you won't be able to identify anything such as a logo that covers most of the front or rear of a shirt. I'd rate the overall clarity as "very entry level"

There is also NO information as to which add-on or replacement cameras will work with this system. Apparently it can work with the wireless cameras but there is NO available information from the actual jaycar stores, the Concord website or tech support email.

Re: PC access to the cameras: Concord manual says to access using: * Internet Explorer 8 or above (Release date 19 Mar 2009 and is NOT available in win 10 or 11) * Firefox 51 or lower (Release date 24 Jan 2017) or *Google Chrome 44 or lower (44.0.2403 - Release date: 21 Jul 2015)

Quite interesting that a security based company could expect you to use outdated and potentially unsafe browsers.

My overall rating is 1/4 of a star! It is better than nothing, but only just! Save your money for a better system!

Can't connect over mobile data only WiFi – Connects up to the wifi no problems but can't connect over mobile data so it's pointless if I need to access the device away from home. Concord is useless and can't help in any way, they say return it. Show details

Not worth it – This product is a waste of money after buying the system my technician had trouble connecting it he tried to contact concord help several times without any luck,I tried many times with no luck so I finally went back to jaycar with some assistance there and much running around we got the system going. I was told when buying the system that it would… Read more

take any camera this is not true, trying several types of different cameras nun worked. Then I try to get information on which Ptz. Cameras would work with the system only to told that they could not be guaranteed that any of these would work with this system. I have spent a lot of money and a lot of time believe me don’t waste your money.

Worse security camera ever!! – Bought the 4 wireless cam but only 2 could connect. The other two is apparently too far away. They’re 20m apart even though the box says they have a range of up to 40m!! Connection is always unsteady and keeps dropping out. Useless product! I’ve only had it for over 12months and am thinking of buying another brand. Useless waste of money.  Show details

Excellent value for money and easy to install – I’m pleased with the security coverage and after 9 months bought a second system for further home security. The systems come ready to go, just follow instruction booklet which easy to follow and excellent backup support from Jaycar when never my initial bungling. Occasionally moths trigger a recording but I sleep more relaxed knowing the two… Read more

Twelve months in operation and no faults – I have a CDK4242P-A with cabled in cameras from Jaycar here in Taranaki New Zealand. I took great care with the cabling and set up the unit in accordance with the handbook. This unit is perfect for my needs, I can do all the things that the instructions detail. Search and playback is very accurate and detailed. So if you take care with the cabling… Read more

and look after the HDD unit then you will appreciate the value for money. My unit has been running continuously for twelve months and is going just perfectly. Night and day recordings are perfect, although I do have a pesky moth that senses the Ultra Violet lamps at night and flutters around the lens of one camera which triggers it off but thats no problem .. Id recommend this product, as long as you do your home work on what you want to use it for, I dont need number plate recognition as thats not what it is designed for.

TOO MANY FAULTS – We have found that we have to phone Concord often to help us fix various faults. Not good having to constantly reset. Wouldn’t be good breaking down when away from home. Although the guys we speak with at Concord are pleasant enough it is very frustrating to deal with the system dropping out. We have also submitted online queries about three or… Read more

Skip this brand – Event recording and playback will drive you insane. Skip this brand. I’m so frustrated with Concords interface and event recording. Whenever you want to watch a recorded event it automatically skips over it. You can’t play events from the time you choose. It’s a nightmare. Poor system overall.  Show details

Total waste – Still not responding to remote settings. Will not show playback cameras not responding to commands from mouse over all. Total waste of my money. And the system over all in my experience bad.

Really happy for what we paid for them and does the job – We were going to get the Arlo Pro 2 Cameras but further research suggested that if your Wi-Fi is week then it’s not a good idea which no one tells you in store. We opted for the new Concord Security Cameras (Wired) From Jaycars Store and they were easy to set up and we view camera footage on my smart Tv. Clear HD picture and records any movement… Read more

from body heat and so small animals/wind do not pick up. Pretty basic system and only $570 so saved a fortune as you can set up yourself as well plus we got a $20 voucher. We pick up the back yard up to 25 metres away and neighbors fence line and our garage. Night vision is good and you can see everything and you can recognise faces. Security guy told us not to get wireless as the wired cameras are hardy and you do not have to worry about changing batteries all the time, just let it do it’s thing. I recommend the Concord Security Cameras for the price but cannot pick up on my iPhone/Concord App Yet which is a worry. To view cameras on a Samsung smart tv you need to plug the HDMI cord from the box to the tv and scroll to the HDMI logo and set up there. Once logged in with the mouse provided go to PC each time when you want to view footage. Instructions are not good to follow and we had to work all that out ourselves which took forever. Overall the Cameras are all we need.
