4K 120hz and very happy indeed! – This is my first time of buying a Denon AVR and had it for around a week now and have picked up some ability to review it properly as was learning the ropes with the AVR. To begin with, a summary of what features are with the Denon S760H AVR. Its 7.2.4 Atmos capable, I run currently at 5.1 but will be soon going to 7.1.4 config. It has all the standards in surround sound and pre-set configs for stereo and surround, CEC/eARC, 2 optical inputs, RCA inputs, 6 hdmi inputs including hdmi 2.1 for 8K/60hz or 4K/120hz (this is the main reason for buying it) a few other features which i do recommend reviewing online the unit to gain more understanding.

The operating system is ok - its nothing too complicated and basic on screen display and wow I am so glad AVR's these days come with the ability to do the setups on the telivision. Setting the AVR up is quite basic, I am very used to Pioneer AVR's so it took a while to get familiar with this AVR, its actually easier than Pioneer to be honest in the way the OS but in other ways a little bit more tricky also.

Now sound quality - well have to say it depends upon your speakers - so I cannot go in depth over that sound quality, because the reality is that you can have a 100 thousand dollar AVR but if your speakers are really low end you will not actually get any benefit to it.

Now I would have given this AVR 5 out of 5 stars but felt I need to take off 1 star for the following reasons (it is a fantastic AVR and well worth getting if you want a dedicated system for the PS5 or Series X), with the HDMI 2.1 there are 3 ports, however this does not mean you can have more than 1 console running at 4K/120hz, but there is a caveat to my words there because at one stage when i was trying to get 4K/120hz I managed to have both the series x and ps5 running 4K/120hz - it may be that you can but the way it was sold to me is that (more than 1 source retailer) there is only 1 port that will be able to do 4K/120hz (now I am new to this AVR so it may have that ability to run 2 or all 3 - now this is where I have to take 1 star away and its simply because I am not sure and there is no clear info on this and associate with this is I believe this AVR and all AVR's which do this should incorporate 2 HDMI outputs and there is a reason for this in my next paragraph. When having 8K/60hz or specifically 4k/120hz for consoles, you need to program your tv set for this input, this means if you connect other things like a blu-ray or PC (without RTX 30 series) your TV input you need to configure to the port your AVR signal goes from, this means having to change over the settings on the TV if you go from console to PC or a media player because the settings a very different - having 2 HDMI outputs with the ability to assign or dedicated to 8K/60hz 4K/120hz then you can actually utilize the other ports on the AVR going to the TV and having a different channel without the needing of reconfiguring the TV input channel (if that makes sense)

Now the way I have set up my devices because of this - I have my PC running into my TV, with the e/ARC going to the AVR, buying another device so 4K/120hz for 2 consoles on 1 hdmi 2.1 channel on game port, I do not have BluRay nor any other devices so I do feel that Denon should have incorporated (any manufacturer for AVR to have 2 HDMI outputs now so its a missed opportunity from Denon

I am very happy with the S760H as it does the job and there is no lag in regards to the consoles, the sound is brilliant, the dimming function for the front panel is great, the remote control and OS is simple and easy to navigate without needing to spend hours on hours studying the manual, remote control should be backlit also.

If you are looking at a budget entry for a AVR with 8k/60hz or 4k/120hz, I really do recommend looking at the S760H as it does a fantastic job, there is room for improvement on the device though

Now the normal retail price for this device is roughly $1400, I got it for $990 from Klapp Audio, so a bargain!
