work for DGTEC and was totally unsurprised by how bad this device is.

Gave it one star but it probably deserves none. Looked nice, specs seemed good.

Samll unit with many problems – Bought two models DGTEC DG-HDMP1080TT and 500TT (difference was that one came with HDD installed) - deside thare are identical. 500TT was from DS, other from Graysonline. corruption of timer entries by previous day recording.

I am using 1080TT till today - only reason is that I got connected my USB drive with movies - plays any format without problem.

Unit has great potential if someone with BRAIN will review and fix software problems, I sent long list to DGTEC support without any response.

The most annoying is fact that when recording is about to be started eg ob SBS and you are watchning ABC, confirmation message will be displayed, after Yes is entered - unit will change channel to SBS. What a STUPID programmer wrote this stuff Small, plays all video formats, easy to operate Software problems, wrong menu design, etc

AUSTRALIA they give up and simply stop replying to your emails !!! As for Warranty they will NOT tell me who the Original manufacturer is ?? and tell me I BOUGHT IT ON THE WRONG EBAY STORE .. Don't waste your money – This is the worst set top box we have ever had. While it's a lovely shade of black and the fascia admittedly has very straight lines on it (don't you love my sarcasm), that's about the extent of it's positives. a recording telling me how important my call was but no answer. So I emailed DG Tec twice asking for help and advice, that was three weeks ago and sill have not got any response so there is no support or backup. Very disapointed.

dont waste your money – This is terrible. Dodgy reception awkward controls. Frequently fails to record programmes. Fan noise is unbearably loud have to turn it off at night to sleep in next room.extremely frustrating machine. wont connect to net. unable to recognise usb stick to upgrade. I would recommend to use only as a door stop or bookend. Waste of money. everything.

Has promise but lots of annoying glitches – I bought the system because it allowed me to insert a large HDD (which you can buy on eBay relatively cheaply) and I wanted to put all my DVDs on to the HDD rather than having disks flying around the place (I blame my children). list them as they come to mind: 1)TV viewing frequently freezes with blank screen - you have to unplug/reboot to fix. 2) Inserted 1TB SATA HDD but to copy from ext HDD to SATA frequently fails 3) Wireless connect often doesn't work 3) When using remote to navigate often moves two 'clicks' in when only one click pressed. 4)Play back of videos frequently doesn't work. 5)Worked out all HDD have to be FAT32 formatted otherwise frequent 'I/O Errors' (start again!) but still have intermittent problems with playback 5) Instruction manual poor. 6)The internal 1TB HDD I inserted just doesn't seem to work for playback of avi and mov files - I have basically given up trying to make the internal SATA drive, which I purchased separately, work - I really just use for recorded programs but my intention originally was that it would be used to store everything. Given the SATA drive is not DGTECH it is possible the fault is with the HDD - I just don't know.

The basic TV part of it works fine and recording is reasonably simple though you can't record series. None of my manual recordings seem to have worked but EPG based has worked. So generally speaking the system has promise - it just very annoying with all it's problems - admit I am spoilt by using mainstream brands in the past - they just tend to work. Basic interface would be pretty good ...if everything behind it worked! Just about everything that could go wrong with the core functionality did go wrong.
