Doorbird D1101V

Product support outstanding. Product quality excellent. Software very good but can be improved – I wish I was able to rate the product support independently of the product itself because DoorBird Australia has provided outstanding support whilst I fumbled my way through a DYI installation. Yes, it is easy now I know, very easy in fact, but having not done it before, I reached out to Doorbird on a number of occasions as was promptly and professionally dealt with. Definitely recommend the product for that reason alone.
As for the product itself, the quality is definitely premium. I agree that the night vision isn't as good as, say my night vision security camera, but its certainly adequate enough. The product is classy (in my opinion) and I enjoy the fact I can remotely unlock my gate if I need to. I can't seem to get HD streaming working when on my wifi (could be an internal issue) but the video is quality is very good and almost instantaneous. When off WIFI and away from home, its maybe 4-5 seconds before video start streaming but that is quick, quicker than I could get to my front door anyway.
There is a wealth of features you can use to connect to door locks, door bells, SIP phones etc. I also purchased the Doorbird door chime which was very easy to set-up.
I would have given this product 5 stars but its still lacking AppleHome Kit integration (and in fairness, I have yet to find an intercom system that is compatible with HomeKit yet). I understand they are in talks with Apple to integrate HomeKit but it has some complexities. I really hope it happens because it opens up a world of other possibilities for me, especially as all my other smart devices are HomeKit enabled. Hopefully, this comes soon.
The other minor thing, I wish the system gave power to the strike plate, rather than you having to run a separate cable too power the strike plate. I understand why they did it that way but would have been good to have the option. I did have to run POE to my intercom to power it so I did both at the same time but it would be much more convenient if you only had to run POE and that also was able to power to the strike plate. Saying that, having never used POE before, it is great how you can power and get internet to the device with one cable, even if I had to have separate power for my strike plate. For other people this is probably irreverent.
Overall, this is a nice system. Plenty of options, stylish, well manufactured and feels premium. it is very well supported in Australia.
Purchased in for $908.
Poor backlit image quality – While the product is easy to install and connect the image quality in a backlit installation location is poor. The aspect ratio of the captured image when displayed on an iPhone in the DoorBird app is odd. Unless you sign up to their cloud service you only have access to still images captured by the device.
