this product and after the response from Samsung I will go out of my way to never buy another Samsung product, I tried to do this privately but all you get from Samsung is an external company that just responds with a bot and doesn’t assist with the problem poor poor company

the overseas call centre without physically sending a technician WhatsApp messages us to say they will send replacement parts for faults they don’t even know and expect us to fix it over selves. We are unable to enter our own home now as only one family member can let us in as the light up digits, musical tone, finger print recognition are all unworkable. I read a review from another customer on their website who was sent a new unit just yesterday, whereas they are discriminating against us by not sending a new unit endnote though the lock has multiple faults. Don’t buy Samsung products not a good company to deal with. PS; ours was installed by a locksmith by the builder and still under warranty.

Good unit, would buy again – It's great! Saw some bad reviews about screen scratching or the motor being too weak. Going on nearly 2 years and we're still on the same battery, and not a scratch in site, still clean like new. pressure on the bolt from poor alignment or trying to open the door before it's retracted of course it's going to struggle.

The auto lock is really cool, I don't use it because I'm in and out the door like a yo yo. But I imagine if I was in the city it would be really useful.

The code works fine, and the main reason I bought the unit because it's impossible for us to leave somewhere without saying "oh I forgot this or that" then you gotta turn the car off and on 3 times before you can actually leave.

My favourite thing is the key fob, beats the absolute poo out of finding and lining up keys in the dark. The only thing I hate about the unit (which isn't worth dropping a star) is that you have to wake up the screen before using your key fob, it'd be nice to just wave it at it and have it unlock but even still it's great.

The manual switch seems to disconnect from the motor operation, so if you use the manual switch and electronic locking/unlocking interchangeably they get out of sync. Too confusing to explain so I'll just say if you don't use the manual lock/unlock you'll never come across anything unusual. Or if it's just you in the house, and you lock yourself in with the manual switch, and unlock it with the manual switch to save battery (which I did for a little while), you'll never notice anything unusual. The battery is still strong after nearly 2 years, so don't worry about saving battery.

Expensive rubbish – As an update, Samsung contacted me privately, wasted two weeks of my time I provided information and they didn't take responsibility for their faulty product instead referring me back to their agent Digital door locks who didn't want to take responsibility either inferring it was my fault for buying a lock that although advertised as a front door… Read more

lock isn't weather proof and it shouldn't be touched with unwashed fingers. I used consumer law in the end to get a refund from Bunnings.

I purchased one of these 4 months ago ,and the metal frame is corroded and bubbling up under the chrome. When I requested advice I was informed that I live too close to the sea. Try applying grease or zinc spray to slow down the corrosion,I was told. Both in Australia and New Zealand,75% of residents live close to the sea. Why is this product marketed at all. No information is provided advising consumers not to use it if living within an undisclosed distance of the sea. A nice out for the agent. Warranty doesn't cover fitment if one lives close to the sea, but they aren't prepared to specify how close that is. Avoid this cheaply made product,it carries the Samsung name but it's not made by them.

for family members by searching internet instructions as my box did not seem to have any instructions Many hours were spent trying to sort out these codes without luck This morning I contacted digital door locks support team to see if they could help.Whilst I am not a fan of call centres spoke to technical support team member Gina and after discussing trouble shooting to sort out my codes and entry Gina had me send her a photo of lock installation and she noticed my magnetic door connection and reader was kinked therefore would not allow further codes.sorting out replacement part for me.Gina provided excellent service and fixed my lock issues in say 5 minutes Gina is a credit to the technical team and appears to know product back to front to provide this great service Thankyou lock working sensationally DARREN S

Great electronic lock! – We got this Samsung lock, had it installed and love it. Don't know how I lived without a smart lock before now. Poor quality – Lock started to corrode after one month, now after 6 months it doesn’t lock anymore, just keeps beeping. Absolutely useless, and of course the call centre is overseas and also didn’t offer much help. Went to locksmith and they said one of the worst brands ever, replace it with a quality lock. Great work Samsung! Also if you have it in direct sunlight you can’t see the numbers for the pin, another great feature. Show details

Don’t buy – Digital display unreadable after 12 months. External display Perspex does not stand up to uv and results in the code display being unreadable even though is sheltered. Would not recommend at all. Show details

And if the door locks and I do not have the tag with me there is the second method using the registered code. 3. I found it very easy to install and program. 4. Awesome product – The door lock is awesome, makes it much easier than carrying keys everywhere when you can just use a code to get in. Ours has been exposed to all conditions and couldn’t complain. We had one issue where the motor failed but a quick call to the service company had a new unit sent out within a couple of days. Show details

locks the door as soon as it is closed is also a life-saver because I always know that the house is secure when I leave. The final great feature, that took me by surprise, I'll mention is that you can set multiple codes to open the door which means that you can give a housesitter their own code and then delete the code once they leave and never have to give them the code you use. It's like cutting keys for specific people and then being able to take them away when the keys aren't needed anymore, fantastic!
