Cheap kayak that does the job – These kayaks are sold at BCF and can be purchased at a discounted price during their many sales. They are a plastic kayak and what makes them good value is the fact that a seat, paddle and rod holders are included, and the whole package can be purchased for under $600. The orange, white and black “tiger” style definitely makes it visible on the water. It is a relatively short kayak that is wide at 860mm, meaning that although it is very stable, it is not that great when there is a bit of chop on the water, or you are trying to get some momentum through the water - you will be getting splashed a fair bit and will be overtaken by the longer, narrower kayaks. However, some of the longer open water kayaks such as the Hobie Revolution cost about six times more, albeit at a much better quality. The Profisher uses a common shape that appears in many of the other brands of kayaks. The kayak suffers from a problem where just about every screw, pin or bolt has at some stage come loose, therefore it is necessary to always check these fittings otherwise you risk losing fixtures, hatch lids etc. The kayak is also relatively soft and the bottom is somewhat flimsy. The kayak is so stable you can stand up to fish. It is also relatively light and can be lifted up over your head if loading onto the roof of a vehicle. The kayak is shaped to be stackable if you have more than one which makes it versatile and neat for travelling. It has a total of four rod holders in the hull, one adjustable in the centre, and two in the back of the seat. The plastic is relatively durable and can withstand some rough treatment when the kayak needs to be dragged on the beach or through shallow water. At its cheap price you don’t feel so bad about dragging it around, unlike some of the more expensive alternatives. Overall a good kayak at its price.
