I bought this printer 13 months ago only for it to stop working. Contacted epson and they said the ink pad is full, it’s not a user replaceable part and to have it replaced at a service centre is more than the printer cost. Absolute scam! Show details

We have 2 Epson ET2810 ecotank printers in our family circle, at first seam to be a great printer . then to our suprise , there was a waste counter ink filter that needs replaced. So then we find out, you need to buy a 3rd party, counter reset key, because Epson dont release, sell or provide a reset key, Epson can and will reset it , if you can… Read more

be stuffed bringing it in, to a service centre. Shame on you Epson, thats very very poor managerment or greed.

Very frustrating, it seems like it’s probably a good printer but the software is shocking. I can’t even simply print out an email. Show details

This is the worst home printer we have ever owned. It worked for about 3 months and then has been no end of problems. Firstly the colour nozzle for magenta blocked and was impossible to rectify - no more printing colour. Trying to reconnect the printer to a new wifi network at home is impossible. No more home printing. It will be going to landfill or wherever we can recycle it as waste material. Show details

Not Happy! Over three hours trying to set up and connect with laptop, wi-fi and iPhone. Downloaded various programmes for laptop, 3 Apps to iPhone and still can't print from phone. Epson won't connect to Wi-Fi on 5G network. Have to use 2.4. After all this I discover the only way to do back to back (duplex) printing is to do it manually - after spending $310. Wish I read these reviews before I purchased. Show details

Epson are an absolute disgrace. Paper feeds back into this printer and because back is sealed there is no way to clear the jammed paper. It cost me $110 at Epson's authorised repairer only to have it happen again a week later, they did repair again, free of charge. But $110 to clear a paper Jam is disgusting! Now it's happened again! I'll never buy another Epson. Show details

Worst Printer I have ever owned. Paper gets jammed every time. I have tried different papers. No success. Print quality is extremely low. It connects to the wifi ok but you need an app. I literally pay someone to print rather than use this. Show details

Does exactly as advised. I use it for ages daily. Easy to fill cartridges n not overly expensive to buy at Big W. My only issue is I can't seem to get it to print via WiFi. Show details

Nothing would work. It will not connect to home wifi ordirect to iPhone. I tried printing via USB cable - even after Epson sent me a new? Driver. I took it back for a refund and bought an HP. Show details

Epson lack of quality assurance – I really wanted to like this printer as it ticks most of the boxes for us, even enough to ignore the reviews on this site as all the retailer websites have good reviews (avg 4.3/5) in the hundreds. So I purchased the first et2810 and set it up following the phone app exactly. It did the ink charging process for 15 or so minutes like it should and… Read more

the ink light went out - all looked good. When I tried printing or photocopying several times, there was nothing printed on paper. I also noticed the ink levels had not dropped like the manual said. So back to the retailer for a refund and got a second unit from another store due to no stock. Set up the second unit by following manual ink charging process by holding button down for 5 secs and the unit charged the inklines for around 15 mins. This time the ink levels dropped and I topped up as per the manual. I tried photocopying several times and there was a dark 50mm wide strip in the same place all the way through every page, which can't be print heads and the glass was clean. So that unit went back to the store as well and I don't want another one! I am disappointed with the lack of quality assurance on this product and now have little confidence that these would last well in service even if I did eventually get one that works. I'm coming from an older Canon and now looking for a reliable alternative, but unlikely to be Epson.

May 2025 - Ok update to this post, I relented after a few months of no printer and bought Epson ET-2810 #3 from another retailer and yay it actually worked out of the box....... well the bar was set pretty low so this is exciting! To be fair to the product I will post update after a few months use.

***Feb 2026 update - Printer #3 still working well, ink use is much better than old printer, generally happy so far. Given subject of review is quality control, I stand by 1 star, but to be fair if this was printer #1 would likely have been 4 stars. Good luck with the dice roll!

Don't throw away your old printer! – We bought one of these thinking it was going to reduce the cost of having to buy expensive ink for our old printer. Total waste of money as all it wants to print is a lot of gobbledygook. I have tried several times to get it to connect to my computer properly, but no results. My wife can't get it to work with her laptop or iPad either. Every other… Read more

printer we have had was easy to set up & worked a treat. The only thing we have been able to use it for is photocopying, but you have to keep pressing the button to make multiple copies. When it does print, it is so painfully slow. It is beyond us why Epson would produce something that is not user friendly. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't get rid of the old printer!

Software a nightmare – Waste of money. Every time we go to use the printer we need to spend another hour setting the thing back up yo wi-fi. This involves removing and reinstalling the app and going through all the settings again, we may have to do the 2 or three times just yo print 1 page. Absolutely terrible software, in this day and age it should be made alot easier to connect to wifi to print a sheet of papet

A waste of over $300 – Only after 12 months of use, yes, just out of warranty, it no longer picks up the paper to print. I have been in touch with Epson, they replied, try this, try that, no, it did not work ad there is no access to clean the rollers. He is suggesting that I get someone to fix this, why would I, a new canon printer is under $100.00. I am trying to run… Read more

a business, now a week without one. I thought I would be able to fix the problem but I cannot. To service this printer would be a lot more than $100.00 This printer is full of ink, what a waste of money and now it has to go to landfill.

MIGHT be ECO tank but definitely not ECO friendly – ECO tank but definitely not ECO friendly 1. Does not SIMPLY connect to the wifi, we have even called Epson Troubleshoot and they have no idea what is wrong with both printers 2. Does not manually print 2 sided! What decade are they living it? 3. Does not come with cable to connect to the computer if the WiFi "simple" feature does not work 4. Horrible customer service. 5. Is it really eco tank??? 6. WAY over priced We do not recommend Show details

Disappointment – I am truly disappointed with this product. Within two weeks the rear plastic paper support snapped, but I persevered with it. Now 18 months on, the paper feed cog no longer grabs the paper. I outlaid $387 for this printer and I certainly have not had my money’s worth. Shame on EPSON. Show details

Software designer is HIGH ON GOD KNOWS WHAT – Warning DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS USELESS FAULTY DESIGN PIECE OF CRAP! task . Absolutely inconvenient and backward , DOES NOT SUPPORT AIRPRINT The same day I bought it , I tried to return it to Bing Lee Bankstown, but they refused to refund since I opened the purchase. They said I need to get a reference number from Epson , so that I can get a refund (SO UNFAIR TO HASSLE THE CUSTOMER) After I contacted Epson they confirmed to me that this printer is not designed to function through AirPrint , you have to go through the Epson app and file everything you need to print before it can actually work. Once I told Bing Lee that Epson told me that the printer does not support AirPrint , they didn’t believe me until I suggested for them to setup that Piece of Crap inside the store . They tried to set it up but they failed, after all the frustration and wasting my time they had no choice then to refund my money because the product did not preform what it claimed on the box. Bing Lee Bankstown are unprofessional and I will not shop there again !

Good value printer – Very good efficient ink usage with the eco tank ink. Prints colour OK but not super refined and only negative is that it doesn't print double sided. Easy setup and wifi access though can be sporadic connection with app controlled. Show details

Not worth $400 - Ok for first 30 days - then nothing but problems – I purchased this printer for the eco tank features. It was easy to set up and worked reasonably well for about a month - although it was slower than other printers I had. Then I printed some labels and forgot to replace paper. I then put paper in and it hasn’t worked successfully since. I have tried all the troubleshooting and have been advised by… Read more

the support line to follow certain troubleshooting steps - which I have now done about 8 times. During several attempts I’d go to print a simple Word document and pages and pages of coding would spew out. I then spoke to someone online for Epson and we went through the same procedure - and he asked me which version of driver I had installed(the one available on their website). He then got me to put in a different IP address to access a different driver. The printer then worked - but I had to use the Smart Panel App to print and it took seven minutes to print a simple page. - see attached images. I started printing before 6.18pm and then started taking screenshots of the progress. I took screenshots of the process to prove the point. I can’t print directly from a webpage as I’m now told this model does NOT HAVE AIRPRINT feature. So I have to download the webpage - or take a screenshot - and then use the Smart Panel App to print. They still can’t tell me why it is so slow. I am not at all satisfied with this product and I have asked for a refund as it doesn’t equate to value for money and I don’t believe it works as it should.

Small but mighty – Purchased this a few months ago as I needed an inkjet printer for making stickers. Set up was a breeze. It’s very light and fit perfectly where I needed it to. If you don’t plan on scanning you can store the paper on top which was ideal for me. I have a colour laser and it’s so heavy, bulky and unreliable so I was in the market for something… Read more

simpler. I thought the price was ok. I read reviews in some groups I’m in and they were quite positive and any problems people did come, someone had a solution so I was confident in my purchase and eager to use it. It took a while to connect to my wifi but hasn’t had an issue since. The ink was easy to fill and mess free. Print quality is good. I’ve played around a little with the settings and I’m happy with what I’m getting. Yet to experience a paper jam which is great. Haven’t had a problem with sticker paper running through it or normal copy paper. Happy with this purchase!

what a piece of – EXTREMELY difficult user interface. I don't think anyone at Epson tested this one. Print quality is not that great and if not used daily the nozzles clog and need cleaning. The wifi is patchy and always tries to connect to the incorrect network. Good luck trying to find it on your computer or mobile. Feed try often gobbles multiple pages at once… Read more

and there is always an error code unless you print one item at a time and let it finish printing before you add another to the queue. The only thing good about this printer is the ink capacity but whats the point if you cant use it. As for epson smart panel, the bar is low on entry for this one. It should be rated as epson moron panel as it tries too hard and doesn't deliver. Buy something else that isn't from this obviously inept company that can't get it right but should.

The worst printer set up experience I have ever had – I run my own business and am reasonably tech savvy. I have set up many printers over the years, but I have never experienced anything like this. It would have to be the worst printer set up I have ever encountered. Looooonnnggg, complicated, not one step worked without issues to be trouble-shooted. The printer had better be the most awesome printer ever to make up for this experience! Show details

Waste of money DOESN'T AUTO PRINT DOUBLE SIDED – Very difficult to set up when following the install link and instructions - convoluted, continuing fail and printing out code language. A lot of promise, but a terrible printer – As others have said, it constantly drops the wifi connection, which means printing often takes forever. If you're printing a large document and the printer loses wifi, if will sometimes abort the job halfway through, so you have to work out which page to print from. My biggest gripe, though, is that it can't print double-sided. It prints the odd… Read more

numbers fine, but when you turn the pages around to print the other sides, it prints the even pages in reverse order, so the wrong page is on the reverse. I phoned Epson's tech support twice about this. The first time I was told the printer was printing the pages in the wrong order because I wasn't using genuine Epson paper (!), and the second time it was because I wasn't using a genuine Epson driver, even though I downloaded the driver from the disk that came with the printer, and which was clearly marked "Epson ET-2810". I emailed tech support, hoping for a better solution, and they didn't reply. It's back to Brother for me, never had any trouble with them.

Not so good – When it comes to product registration, which is what you usually do with your new hardware once you've installed it, you need the serial number which is inconveniently located on the bottom of the printer. Purchased in Feb 2022, had only printed 176 pages when the nozzles required a Power Cleansing which used a quarter of the ink from each of the four tanks. Show details

Great little wifi printer – Purchased new Epson EcoTank ET-2810, quite easy to set up ( even for the non IT literate like myself ) was able to link printer to our PC and my phone so I can print off phone via wifi. of the printing, seems fine, the scanning ability is great and the coping is also good, the only issue I have really noted is the rear paper loader, it appears it can probably hold about 50 pages of white A4, it would have been better if the printer had a tray like some of the other models, but again as I don’t use the printer every day, it works for me, another plus it can print thousands colour printed sheets on its current ink bottles, which will save substantial costs compared to my previous cartridge printer and refills of ink are half price in comparison to cartridges.
