Arhhhh!!! – This is the most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever owned. Has reduced me to tears several times. I just want a printer that can print. Epson support NoHelp
Printer from hell – The worst printer I have ever owned. Printing anything is a nightmare as it whirrs and clicks to itself for 15 minutes before you can print anything - thats if it will print anything at all. Even turning it off means another 15 minutes of grinding and whirring. Sometimes I've just had it and unplug it to get some peace! Neverending trouble. You… Read more
are supposed to be able to check ink levels in the printer properties, but you never can. It just won't let you! Any setting or property to do with this printer is hidden away on your computer in the most unlikely of places. Its a frustrating job of hide and seek with no end.
Changing a print cartridge is a nightmare. In the middle of printing something it declares the cartridge is low and stops printing, but then its a huge battle to change the ink cartridge. The printer has a smart function which supposedly 'knows' which cartridge is low and moves the printer head into an open position with the spent cartridge highlighted so you can change it. This doesn't work. EVER. It insists on moving the printer head under a piece of solid plastic where you can't get at the cartridge to remove it, so you keep pushing the button, you keep trying, and trying, and trying. As for highlighting which cartridge is spent - you must believe in Santa Claus!!!
Print quality is awful. I've printed test pages which were perfect, but tried to print something (letter or photo) and it comes out with all sorts of marks and blurred bits, with stuffed up photos.
Currently the paper settings won't let me choose regular paper - there just isn't that option! So its printing paper setting is on Epson Special Matt Paper, when I have regular plain paper and you CANNOT change this. You just can't. No. Forget it. You must be joking. Go home. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.00.
It also prints only a few pages before the ink is finished and you're off buying cartridges again. One day soon it will be drop kicked into the garden...
Stay away from Epson printers. They're a disaster.
WORKS FINE FOR WHAT WE NEED – All good here with this printer. Takes recycling cartridges, easy and cheap to replace parts and has been ticking along nicely in our small business for over 18 months. Keep it simple and it works. The only thing we will be looking at next time for a printer purchase is usb fitting Show details
Awful Printer, Totally Useless – Bad experience all round with the Epson printer, and I will not purchase another one. Barely used it and after replacing EXPENSIVE ink cartridges, printer simply does not work. Continually says 'Replace Cartridge', even though ALL FOUR cartridges were replaced. A major problem with this printer which should be recalled - Epson would not replace the printer. Show details
Was printing beautiful until I replaced ink cartridges – I am not impressed with prices of the cartridges and they do not last long. My Epson XP-100 will not recognize compatible ink cartridge. It used to. Now it will not print with a new set of compatible cartridges? I am frustrated after rebooting several times. What's the problem? Urgent! If this continues, I will throw the printer away and buy another brand. Today. I never had this problem with HP printers. Show details
The other reviews are spot on - worst printer I have ever owned! – This is an absolutely horrendous product and if zero stars were an option that's what I'd rate it. My experience was very consistent with the previous poor reviews. The ink barely lasts and I only ever used it for rare at home black and white text document printing. It jammed literally EVERY time I tried to print something. I dreaded even ever… Read more
having to get a single page of text printed because it was never not a massive hassle. It is a total nightmare of a product that made me want to pull my hair out every time I tried to use it. You could actually get more productivity out of a typewriter. I will never purchase another Epson product again after this and I'd advise the reader to do the same.
Don't buy, it's a nightmare – What a waste of money. It jams all the time and trying to refill it with a new cartridge is very expensive and a nightmare. I just threw it away and feel a great sense of relief I no longer have to spend lots of time trying to get it to work properly. Show details
Will Never Buy Epson Again! – A couple of months ago I purchased Epson XP-100 from Big W. After installation I could print but when trying to scan I just got error messages. NOWHERE on the box or in the vague Instruction booklet does it mention it is not compatible with Windows XP O/S. After several fruitless phone calls to Epson I was finally told they could not help and to… Read more
contact Microsoft Support. Person from Microsoft was very abrupt and said I could install the printer software but NOT the scanner software as I was running on Microsoft XP and could not help any further before virtually hanging up on me. Disgusting service from both of these companies.
Painful and frustrating and expensive! – Yes continual problems with printing. Use only genuine cartridges but need to do Nozzel clean far too often. The printer does not get used on a daily basis so this is crazy. Uses up so much ink! Want to throw it out of window. No customer care either! No help at all!
Rubbish – The worst printer have bought spent $65 on new cartridges and still won't work.Have tried everything they tell you to do on the installation sheet and still no luck .Taken cartridges back out ,shook them replaced them nothing the light just stays on .Any suggestions other than the bin .
Frustrated with this little machine! – I have had my XP-100 for approx. 18 months as a compact home printer/scanner. I found it used ink very quickly and now it will not feed the paper through, its trying to and makes all the right noises but then says paper not loaded! I am thinking to get it repaired may cost more than the machine itself? If that is the case it has been a poor investment.
Worst printer I have ever had! – Despite being advertised as being wonderfully efficient and quiet, this recently purchased printer is the worst I have had. The unsatisfactory INSTRUCTION SHEET with minute writing, vague details, bad illustrations made the long time installation process even more annoying. When I did get it going, it clacked away noisily. Message alerts often… Read more
popped up advising that the printer could not connect or the supplied ink cartridges would not be recognised. I had to switch printer on and off a few times which solved the problem; this was frustrating and time wasting.
Within a short time of course, the supplied ink cartridges ran out (they all do this I see), and I installed the correct (not generic) Epsom cartridges for each of the 4 colours. From then on, the machine would not print at all. The cartridges weren't recognised and an annoying ink button kept flashing to let me know there was a problem. I was continually invited to buy more ink cartridges from the Epsom website. I consulted the EPSOM manual which was a waste of time as it did not address the problem. I tried various recommendations from various 'help' websites. It became apparent there are a lot of frustrated EPSOM printer users out there. I returned it to THE GOOD GUYS store where I purchased it and the salesperson wanted me to buy a laser printer because he was concerned that I would have the "same dramas" by using another (any brand) bubble jet printer. The cost of course is much higher. The sales rep said he was doing me a favour by swapping the 'faulty printer' for another identical one without sending it first for factory testing. The new, second printer had proved as hopeless as the first!
UPDATE: Ten months later, I have now replaced the Epsom Printer with a HP one. It was installed with 10 mins with no fuss. I got fed up with the cartridge holding device which was difficult to manipulate for position in order to replace cartridges...... (also extraction of the cartridges was not easy). When the inks got a bit low, the Epsom would not print and message alerts kept coming up to urge me to but new inks. Whilst it is useful to know ink levels, it is bad that the printer refuses to work despite having enough fluid to carry on for a while. By switching the machine on and off a few times and repeated clearing and restarting print job, the machine would eventually do its job.
Very disappointed in this printer – I bought this Epson XP100 because I'd already had a couple of Epsons. Liked the price, it's compactness and being able to replace one cartridge at a time as they ran out. I've probably only used it a few times, because the paper doesn't load properly, and I keep getting the 'paper not loaded properly' message, or "paper out" even though I know… Read more
this isn't the case. Seems to be a problem with the uptake of the paper, or the printer sensing the paper in the paper tray, the rollers grind and click but most of the time, nothing happens. When the paper does release to print, it skews sideways and either jams, I lose half of what I've printed or there's smudges and smears on the paper....not good when printing documents. I found by holding the grey paper guide forward the paper would release straight and it would print, but I'm getting fed up with this, especially if I have a lot of pages to print. It doesn't always work either. And wouldn't you know, it was out of warranty when the problem started. A friend bought the next model, the XP200, because she liked mine, and she has the same problem, so it's definitely a problem with the printer.

Know better, choose better.
epsom xp100 stear clear – Says all-in-one package on box but does not come with necessary connecting cable. Runs out of ink straight away and in general is a junk product. Will never buy this brand again regardless of ink cartridge price.
Missing Parts and No help from Support – I purchased this Printer from the local BIG W Store , as it was on special . I got home and installed everything , and it was missing the Computer to Printer USB Cable . I then rang support , and the very unhelpful guy told me it didnt come with the cable and had to be purchased seperately. It doesnt state this anywhere on the box . Worst company ever , Never going to buy anything EPSON again . What a Joke .
Broken right out of the box! Useless – Got a xp-100 as part of a deal with a new laptop. Great i thought i need a new printer.. well that would be good if this printer actually worked. I hooked it all up, installed some brand new cartridges, i print and everything is super duper blurry to the point where it is unreadable, pictures look terrible. So i think the heads must be… Read more
mis-aligned. I print out the test sheet, follow the instructions, after printing 2 more pages suddenly the printer begins flashing lights, epsons software pops up saying there is an error! Well.. thanks for telling me WHAT the error actually is Epson!
So i restart the printer, which instantly loses any progress you made towards adjusting the heads. I try again, again i can print 2 or 3 things that are blurry and then bam there is an error and the printer becomes unusable. I try printing some test documents. Again 2-3 things and then its dead.
I have a look in the help file and it says that the flashing lights i'm recieving means it's time to send my printer to Epson for a service.
What the heck? It's brand spanking new and it needs a service?? I think im just going to throw this into the trash and get something else..
Value for money and not bulky – My old multi function printer died so I shopped for a new one. Most of them are huge and would not fit where my old printer was. Finally I found this one, it's only 390mm (W) x 300mm (D) x 145mm (H) and it's only $39. I have no complaints so far. It's small size and price The scanner's lid does not lock open so I have to use my elbow to keep the lid up while I straighten the book I'm scanning. Other than that it's all ok.
Epson XP-100 – Brought from officeworks campbellfield just needed a cheap little thing to scan some documents to send off via email. Doesnt come with a usb cord. After the initial startup printing in colour was not working, black was, no way to resolve this. For brand new thats pretty horrible, will be returning sometime today and dont recommend to others. size printing in colour did not work for me, pictures came out all weird.
