Epson Expression Home XP-4105
MPN: XP-410533 reviews
I’ve change the ink cartridges twice and it’s skipping lines like every print. Easy to use but print quality is rubbish. Ink cartridges don’t last long and the overall experience is bad. I’m going to throw this out and get a much more reliable printer. Show details
Crap printer – It should be illegal to sell this heap of crap which never worked properly. Show details
I thought it might be a bit cheap but the consequences are a nightmare – Bought mine on 10/13/2023 came preloaded with 162 critical malicious virus found by internet security, buyer beware I'm living a nightmare! Show details
Biggest heap of garbage – DO NOT BUY THIS EVER. Struggles to print anything and often likes to eat the paper. The ink leaked all over my desk and no matter how hard you try to calibrate the device the printing still looks like garbage. The printer is not worth the ink you put in it. Show details
DO NOT PURCHASE – There was a firmware update. Once the process began the install stopped with a message that it could NOT detect ink cartridges. Once I replaced the ink cartridges with the recommended Epson cartridges it's not recognizing the black cartridge. Was working perfectly fine until the firmware update. I'll never buy Epson again. Better have Ink ready! – Prints fine but burns through ink and WILL NOT let you print or copy if any color ink is low or out. Not even in B&W with full black ink cartridge. So frustrating. Maybe printed 10x and one color is out so now printer is useless until I drop 40$ plus on more ink. Show details
Worst printer ever – I purchased this a month ago and rarely use it but have replaced ink 3 times. After the third replacement and 1 color running out and it does not allow you tomprint black only if one color is out i am donating this to Goodwill and have ordered a new Canon Show details
WORST PRINTER EVER! – This is the worst printer ever, Ink runs out extremely fast and since this prints in multi color of one cartridge is out the printer will not work, ALL colors must have in. Not user friendly, HORRIBLE printer the $20 Canon printer I had worked 100% better Show details
Uses to much ink, costly to replace ink cartidges – Printer uses to much ink, to costly to keep replacing cartridges Show details
Never disappoints - An excellent budget Printer – I am very satisfied with the printer. I have never had an issue with it and I've had it for at least a year. The scanner software is also excellent and easy to use. I gave it 4 stars because of the cost of the ink. I think the ink is too expensive but that is my only issue with the printer. Show details
Terrible printer/scanner – The scanner software about 50% of time gives message "cannot connect with scanner" Only solution is to reload the software. Print cartridges are expensive, don't last long. Forget about customer support unless you are willing to wait an hour and then get no results. Printer often just logs up. I got it on sale. Now I know why. This EpsonXP… Read more
4105 printer is worst computer item I have ever purchased. I bought in April 2022. I am going to just throw it away and buy another brand. I have had Epson printers and scanners in the past and they all worked flawlessly. This one is piece of junk.
Printing very expensive due to expensive and short-lasting cartridges – I wanted a small-sized printer to fit on a shelf. As it was meant only for occasional printing (a few pages a week), I didn't want to spend a lot. After about two years I can state that the printer works ok for my needs (including scanning, although it's quite slow), but it costs me an average of more than 50 euro cents for each printed page:… Read more
cartridges are extremely expensive and as soon as the ink is low (and this happens very quickly: after about 70 pages or about 3 months) you need to replace them.
AGREE WITH SOME OTHER REVIEWERS - THE WORST PRINTER I HAVE EVER HAD – Regret purchasing the XP4105. Hard to use, even to copy a page more than one step required. Expensive ink. I am a home user and do not print a lot but the ink doesn't last long. As soon as one ink runs out it will not print. I have had a few Epson printers of the year but will never purchase another Epson printer.

Dont buy this printer – This is the worst purchase I have ever made Could not set it up Tried for 2 hrs Called helpline On for 45 mins He could not sort Said would get back to me but didnt as forgot to take e mail address and not allowed to call out Called helpline second time 45 mins call Some progress but could not fix how to print in black and white!!… Read more
Admitted problem was their end and said would do update Worked eventually Called helpline third time 55 minute call trying to scan Working intermittently now I did IT at uni so well qualified I would give it zero stars if I could Spend at least 5 hours trying to make it work I went to J Lewis expecting good advice This was the one;y printer they had in stock I can see why now
Absolutely awful! – We bought this printer for simple tasks at home. What a mistake. Firstly the ink cartridges are expensive and are designed to make you think that you only need to replace a cartridge as it empties, but no! if colour cartridges run low you can no longer print (even if there is ink in the black cartridge). Such a marketing sham. Secondly the… Read more
printer is so totally unreliable. It often will not print and then the next time print without problems. The scanner is even worse - always saying there is a problem. I have been able to successfully scan one document in all this time. My opinion: this printer is absolute rubbish.
Chip reader pins break easy. Replacement cartridges are dearer than the printer itself – Chip reader pins breaks easy. The replacement cartridges are more expensive than the printer when you purchase it . Epson should not make printers that the cartridges costs the same price as the printer Show details
Worst printer I have ever purchased - utterly useless – Runs out of ink after a few prints, then new cartridges (which cost more than the actual printer) hardly work at all. I may as well buy a new one. Show details
Most slowest printer when you operate wireless – Most slowest printer when you operate wireless. Printing speed is ok but it will take ages to start print once you release it. So then choose your next printer carefully. Show details
Ink rip off – This was bought new. Managed to print about 60 sides brfore Black ink ran out. Epson replacement ink incredibly expensive. Also printer takes ages to prepare an item for printing. I should have bought another Canon. Show details
DO NOT BUY – This is the absolute worst printer I've ever owned. The printing is poor to begin with and if you run low on color ink you can't print in black only, which is a total scam. Also any maintenance like print head cleaning, basically uses up half the cartridge. I never take the time to write reviews because the negative experience isn't usually that impactful but seriously save yourself a lot of aggravation and buy another brand.
The worst printer – If I could give it zero stars I would. I hate this printer. I hate it so much. The worst. A pox on it and everything about it. You run out of ink quickly, and the option to print in black only works once. I'm replacing the cartridges for the first time with compatible cartridges and it. doesn't. recognise. them. This is after going to the fourth shop because almost nowhere sells the compatible cartridges. Complete waste of money
Horrible piece of crap, on a good day – There is nothing to like about this device. The software is terrible, the printing is poor and the user experience is just endless misery! I know the printer is cheap, but it is so painful to us I would love to pay more for something that prints and scans without endless messing around. I bought Epson printers 30 years ago that just worked, why… Read more
does this one constantly need updating? resetting, unplugging etc. And it is so sloooowwww. Whilst the print speed might be Ok when it is actually printing a page, the process of getting it to print is a waste of life.

If you hate someone, buy them this printer – Constantly makes you buy ink no matter how little is used. Takes 30-45 minutes runaround from printer before printing & sometimes still won't print. Won't print b&w w/out full color cartridges. Show details
Ridiculous – I chose this printer for home use. The cartridges are expensive like any other printer of this range, so I decided to stick to printing only in black. But as soon as one of the color cartridges runs out, you cannot even print in black! So the black ink is apparently useless! They are forcing us to buy color ink cartridges even if we decide not to… Read more
use color printing. This is simply unacceptable. I don't know much about consumer rights, but this is simply deceptive.
Worst printer I have ever had. Will go back to Brother – very frustrating printer, have set it up several times and still have problems with my laptop finding the printer. It also keeps asking what size paper I'm using? this a real pain in the A*** when it happens every time I want to print. I've used brother in the past and found them to be far more user friendly, easy to setup and reliable.
Good value for the price – We purchased this printer about 6 months ago to replace a much used and aged Brother which finally died. We don't do a lot of printing but wanted something that was wireless and not too expensive on the ink and this seemed to fit the bill. Have been quite happy with its performance so far. It was easy to set up and connect wirelessly and so far… Read more
has performed almost faultlessly. Whilst the initial ink cartridges supplied didn't last long (about 3 months for black), the salesman at Officeworks did advise that supplied cartridges were only meant to get users started. I then purchased non-standard replacements online which so far have worked well. Customisation of printing is very easy, and the printer accepts a variety of non-standard paper sizes and thicknesses. The ink cartridges are very easy to replace as well. So far I have had one jam - an envelope was fed in incorrectly, but it was very easy to clear the problem. Printing of envelopes is very easy, as is double sided printing - no need to re-feed the paper as double sided printing can be done automatically. The software is updated regularly and there are very comprehensive online manuals supplied. The print quality whilst not perfect is good for the price paid for this machine, so no grumbles there either. All in all, a good, easy to use printer with features I had not expected for a printer in this price range.
Do Not Purchase this Printer – Had printer for little over a year. Only ever used epson cartridges. Printer heads blocked and no longer prints. Epson advised me I would have to have it serviced at my cost. Service cost high and so better for me to dump printer and buy a new one. My next printer will not be a Epson. Show details
Easy operation, straight out of the box! – Found it at OW for $79. Easy to setup, Air printing worked perfectly on my iPhone, without any setup other than connecting to the Wifi and power supply. Came with a starter ink pack lasted a month with moderate use. Highly recommend it if you can find one! Show details
The only printer I'll ever need! – This printer is the easiest and best I have ever used. Connects wirelessly to my computer, phone and tablet which is fantastic because there is no messing around with cords. Printer quality is excellent. Very user friendly when comes to maintenance and refilling ink. Show details
Low cost printer but ink runs out too quick – I had an HP officejet pro but fell out with it because the print cartridges were very expensive and I could buy 2 new Epsom printers for less than the cost of the ink for HP , additionally annoyingly the paper thickness in HP precluded using any other paper than theirs which cost double .The Epsom seemed to me to be the better option but sadly… Read more
although the printer works well again the cost and inconvenience of continuously replacing their ink has given me the ump so I am now looking to replace it as my wife likes to print off lots of photos. I thought i had solved this problem by using a machine at officeworks only their machines are always malfunctioning as well so the pain continues .
Perfectly good printer – I recently bought this printer from Officeworks when I had to work from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. It does everything I need it to, connects easily wirelessly to my phone and tablet, and also to the computer via the CD that came with it (also wireless). Initial ink cartridges ran out relatively fast but I'd heard they do so I now have the XL sizes so they will see me through for a while. Show details
So far this product has been excellent – I have had this product for 1 month and so far it has performed well. I did think the first ink cartridgse would have lasted longer than a week though. The print quality is pretty good for the price I paid for the printer ($79). I haven't used all the settings yet, so I can only comment on what I have used - double-sided printing has been good.… Read more
The product updates have worked fine. The copy function works well. The draft function a bit too rough so unless it is just text I probably wouldn't use it again. Was able to connect to other devices quite easily. I researched many brands in the under $100 price to compare what other people's experiences were before taking a chance on this one. So far (as it has really only been 1 month), for the price, I would recommend this product.
Good For The Price – My printer died mid project as it does ,new printer time. Did some quick research and this seemed to be the one for me,price was important.I only use the printer for an hour so a month so didn't need all the bells and whistles, that being said the printer is multi function. Connecting to my wifi network was easy, as was setting up the printer… Read more
just inserted the disc in my laptop and follow the instructions. On printing I found the black and white copies seem a little sharper than the colour however this might be a personal opinion.
It's early days so I can't comment on ink usage, but it does everything I need print, scan and copy as well as double sided printing ants it cost $79 at Officeworks.
