Epson WF-2860

Not worth the ink it costs to print – I've had this printer for a couple of years now. Little use. Didn't have too many issues until today. Replaced 3 x Epson 202 Colour STD Capacity Cartridges 21/2/24 - All Good. Replaced Black Cartridge 1 week later, 28/2/24 again with an Epson 202 Black STD Capacity Cartridge. Problem, no Black print. Performed Print Nozzlehead Check which… Read more
showed all 3 Colours printing just No Black. Ran the print head clean as suggested on the screen, still No Black. Did this 4 times in all without any success, can't do any more as ALL Print Cartridges are now Empty! Biggest waste of money ever - AUD$82.76 in total ($20.69 each from Officeworks). Epson customer service suggests I take the printer to a service technician (out of warranty), possibly a printhead nozzle issue. That's not going to happen unless Epson refund me the cost of the new Inks just purchased, it'll be thrown out before I spend another cent on it. FYI. Will not print Black if any of the other 3 colour cartridges are out.
Worst printer ever! – 1. One set of inks only can print 20 pages!!! 2. The last one set of inks only half full!!! Does anyone know how to make a claim to Fair Committee Australia? Show details
CRIMINAL COMPANY – These people are criminals.. they send out firmware updates to delete your ink .... alsolute criminals. Do not buy Epson. Show details
Worst Printer Ever – This is the worst printer I have ever owned. The drivers never work so can't scan documents to the cloud. It drink's ink like there is no tomorrow. For some reason uses yellow when I want to print black and white. I have never once had a print that just gone well and no issues. I would like to through it in the street and drive over it, that will be the most joy this printer ever will bring.
This printer is crap--do not buy – I bought this printer and from the get go it's been terrible. It never recognizes any ink cartridge, no matter how new or made directly by Epson. It simply never works. When I try to print the pages are blank. When you call customer service, I was told to clean the printer heads three times and after the first time once again I'm told the… Read more
cartridges aren't recognized, although it's the third time I've installed new cartridges. This printer is absolute garbage. Just don't buy it. They draw you in with the cheap price, but that's what it is, one cheap, useless, piece of printer garbage. AVOID!
Seems like another bad complaint for this printer – Yes.. Its bad.. you literally can't print anything if one cartridge is out.. Cartridge replacement takes 10 minute minutes for it to even recognise you've replace the cartidges. I can never find the printer on the network, even Epson's own software can't locate it and when it does, it still shows offline to windows after replacing 3 of 4… Read more
cartridges and printing <10 pages the new cartridges are showing that 1/3 has been used.. Once you finally connect it's an ok printer. but seriously Epson sort out the connectivity.. Its rubbish when your own proprietary software can't connect to your own printer on the same wifi network
As a printer it would make a good boat anchor – This is the most temperamental and least user friendly printer I have ever owned. A simple print job turns into a time consuming headache. It constantly shows as offline so have to fiddle around with WiFi settings to get it to work. In an attempt to avoid that drama, tried connecting directly with a USB cable instead. You would think that should… Read more
be pretty straight forward but oh no. After finally working out how to enable PC Connection via USB via its settings, it still showed as being offline! To top it all off, when you do finally manage to coax it to print something, it goes through (expensive) printer cartridges way too quickly. Cannot recommend this printer.
Absolute garbage! – Like someone here has already said, this is easily the worst printer I've ever been unfortunate enough to use. I'm not even joking, I had a HP printer back in the late 90s that printed better than this. So my latest adventure this this pile of junk happened today. I needed to print something in colour but was out of colour ink (AGAIN). So off to… Read more
Officeworks I went, and got the 4 pack combo set. Got home and installed the cartridges, then tried printing a page. The image came out all weird looking, and I suspected that maybe the print head needed cleaning. So I ran a cleaning cycle, and then checked the new test page to see if the test image was appearing correctly. It was still missing a bunch of dots, and the printer advised me to run do the cleaning again. So I did. This time, the test page was a little butter, but was still missing dots, so once again I ran the clean cycle. Finally, the test image was good, and I was ready to print. But...WHAT THE HECK?! I'm out of ink already?! How can thos crooks at Epson get away with selling trash like this. I spent >$90 and haven't been able to print a single page! Someone should seriously be jailed for this, it's an absolute scam. I forgot about a previous adventure I had with this too. So I need to print a B&W document and had plenty of black ink left (cause I bought the XL black ink), and was out of colour. Turns out that this steaming pile of goat droppings won't let you print unless ALL the cartridges have some ink in them, even if you only want to print using the black ink. Did Satan himself design it like this, cause I can't think of a more evil money-grabbing scheme than this
Stay far away from this and any other Epson product you can. You'd be better off using your money as toilet paper and flushing it down the loo than spending even a single cent on this Epson garbage. Maybe it's no coindence that Epson is an anagram for NOPES, cause those are the only things you should be saying to yourself if you're even considering buying one of their machines: - It is worth the money? Nope - Is the print quality any good? Haha, first you'll need to blow through about 5 print cartridges to 'clean' the print head before even being able to print anything. And finally, when you DO manage to print: nope, the quality is terrible - Surely it can't be THAT bad? Nope, it really IS that bad. Steer clear if you value your sanity
Honestly the worst printer i have ever owned – Honestly the worst printer i have ever owned.Constantly disappears from the network , wont scan and the printer cartridges run out way to quickly.Don not buy ! Show details
Auto paper loader Jam – bought this printer at one of the office works, always had problems with scanning multiple pages. Paper jamming every time. Will not suggest to any one if they are after scanner with auto feed paper. I bought for the purpose of scanning multiple pages, but was never able to do that. (Seems like was also misguided by Officeworks salesman)
Don't waste your money! – Cannot scan a doc & rename it & save it in preferred folder. I'm sure there's a way, but I don't have time for a Uni Degree as a Software Engineer! I am also time poor, so I need something that works FIRST time, EVERTIME with only A FEW CLICKS, not a whole rewiring of my computer system!! JUNK!! Show details
Rubbish printer – At purchase, you are not told you need to clean the heads. I have had a printer for two years. In that time, I have printed barely anything. The toner cartridges provided at purchase were dead within six months - or I thought they were because of the patchiness of the printing. I replaced them. Same result. Then someone told me I needed to… Read more
clean the heads every now and then. I did that. Same, and only slightly improved, result. So, again think it was the cartridge, I did the same thing. Still buggered. Never buy again!
This is a 2830. Worst printer EVER – It's too hard to try and print anything other than the standard A4 and even that was an effort. I will NEVER buy an Epson again. Had Brothers before with no problems. Epson!!!!!Shove it! By the way, I'm only giving it one star for value for money coz its cheap and it's damn nasty! Show details

better than reviews led me to believe – great setup with online process, networked into home router reliably and printed and scanned without fault ever since. quiet operation; so maybe Epson have worked on this aspect. Print quality in both black and colour seem quite ok. ink usage is too early to tell; but the cartridges do look pretty small and 550 monochrome pages from the larger… Read more
black cartridge does seem too low. So, in summary despite some awful reviews the 2860 appears to be improved. Quite happy with the purchase for now.
Ink Usage Boggles The Mind! – Ink usage is God awful. I print about 25 pages a month, not too much color, but use the fax and scanner and ADF often . Everything worked fine. I was not originally concerned about ink usage. For the year 2021 I used 5 black cartridges and 3 each of the colors. 14 standard cartridges direct from Epson (fresh expire dates), $185. Totally… Read more
INSANE! To clean a nozzle, you will waste about1/3 of all 4 cartridges for each cleaning. It usually takes at least two cleaning cycles to get the nozzle fixed. When you replace a cartridge you will also lose a little ink from the other three. Cut your loses and go HP with their instant ink plan.. For me, 50 pages a month for $3.99 a month. $50 a year no matter what!
Worst printer ever – Previously had an Epson printer which after over 10 years died so thought I would stick with the Epson brand. What a mistake that was, purchased Workforce 2860 and without fail every time I go to use it something is wrong. The amount of ink it uses seems extremely excessive compared to the previous Epson printer I had. Have had the workforce… Read more
2860 a couple of years now and have given up on it so will looking for a new printer but guarantee it will not be a Epson
This printer is garbage – The ink gets used up after a few print jobs. The print quality is so poor you have to constantly change the print settings to stop the light printing and then it becomes skewed and fuzzy when selecting high quality printing. Do not buy this printer it is junk Show details
Ink cartridge use Sept 2021 – Replaced cartridges with genuine brand from Officeworks. Within 5 days color cartridges needed replacing with the machine set on Black use only at $82.60 a set this is far to expensive and in my opinion is a scam. Non compatible cartridges will not work after an Epson Firmware upgrade. Spoke with Epson customer service they believe that cleaning the head twice was enough to reduce the cartridge use. Goodbye Epson! Show details
More of a headache than any help! – The automatic feeder is a nightmare, can't handle more than 5 pages and the printer drinks the ink and the quality of the printouts are sub par! The software is so old school. Show details
Piece of Junk! – Very little information was supplied to install it. It constantly tested the heads using ink. The test print was miniscule. In spite of repeated attempts to have it print yellow there was a total malfunction from the start. It still doesn't print yellow. The ink was barely sufficient to print a test page when it ran out. It was then that I… Read more
discovered it would cost $80 for enough to print about 8 page seven if it was working. I really can't understand how epson is still in business after so many failures in making printers.
If I could give a 0 I would – Really disappointed with this printer. Purchased as a second printer in the home, for spare but it has not delivered at all. The ink cartridges are a joke. It will print between 9-15 pages (even in black ink only) and then you need to replace the cartridges again. Very expensive. Best to just throw it in the bin (which I did) pay more for a decent printer that costs less to run. Show details
Need a second mortgage to keep up with the Ink Cartridges! – I am shocked at how quickly this machine runs out of ink. You also need to have coloured ink catridges to print in black and white. Useless purchase, very disappointed! Show details

Not fit for purpose – It should be illegal to mass produce products like this. Ink runs out quickly, document feeder doesn't work and ink nozzles get blocked easily. I won't be getting any Epson products again Show details
Worst machine in electronic history – Not much more than i can say - the title explains it!! This thing prints 5 pages and all the ink runs out. It constantly blocks up too. You have to use the ink to clean the nozzles, which mean even more ink usage Show details
Horrible printer I purchased – Never buy printer from epson , printer support team ask me to contact to someone local but their phone never work. I bought cartridges twice but same result it's just suck all ink after 15-10 prints .. specially black ink. Show details
biggest rip off !!!!!! – the most tempermental machines out there, printing worked for a few prints then the black cartrige needs replacing, Purchased new cartrides, it doesnt print properly then the system needs cleaning ????? then it still wont work! The notification says the color cartridges need replacing they have never been used please look elsewhere ! Show details
This printer just chews ink and needs maintenance all the time! – In alignment with the other reviews, this printer just chews ink and then costs in the order of $90 for a new set of cassettes to do exactly the same again. Requires constant printer head maintenance, which chews yet more ink and you are lucky to get it to print a clear colour page. As soon as you run out of one colour you can't get it to print b&w again! Absolute rubbish, avoid like the plague! Show details
Don't buy it – Worse printer I have ever had to use -printing photos from computer is hopeless -large orange lines all over constantly cleaning printer head to no avail -always showing update available when switching it on. not user friendly I was trained on huge office printers changing drums etc this little printer is useless spent so much time trying to get… Read more
it to work properly never had to read a manual so often going back to HP printer it was cheap and always worked and still does
Worst printer I've ever had – Whilst not expensive this is the most expensive printer / scanner I have bought & is the worst. Printer was very hard to set up & get working - only bought a few months ago from Office Works in Mandurah. Ended up connecting printer via USB cable, as only way it would link to my laptop. Would not scan & send to my laptop, After several contacts… Read more
with Epson & software downloads still does not scan. Then there is the ink, it uses a lot of ink & as I've just found out will not work on black if colour inks need replacing. Sent a complaint to Epson re above & told them I am throwing it in the bin & getting a Cannon. This is what I am literally going to do & it will go in next rubbish collection.
Worst Printer Greedy Scam – My Printer’s nozzle head got blocked within 8 months. Fortunately I had warranty. The cartridges are too expensive and this printer takes lots of ink. Total Scam. Bought genuine new epson cartridges and after installing printer was showing 15% used. Good bye epson Show details
waste of money – I cant believe how much ink these use.. Bought 4 x refills on top of the ones it came with and have only printed 187 pages since buying it.. It actually takes longer for the ink cartridges to arrive in the mail than they do to empty out and I only use as a home printer. The last brand of printer I had, the cartridges were far cheaper to buy and… Read more
would have easily printed 4 to 5 times as many pages per refill. Also, once one of the colour cartridges runs out it wont let you print anything again till you replace it.. Right now I have a tiny bit of Blue ink left and 1/5th of a cartridge of black but in a few pages when the blue runs out, I wont be able to use the printer again till I replace the blue and as I stated earlier, Im already on my 4th lot of ink so we are looking at less than 40 pages per $70/$80 worth of ink? The Wi-Fi on this thing is temperamental, works one day wont work the next, will work with one computer one day and not the other then the next day it will decide to print on the one it didn't the day before and not the one it was working on the day before. I also had issues with the scanning software.. Its very limited and again compared to my last cheap printer is frustrating by how limited you are with what you can do with it.. Honestly , I wouldn't recommend one of these printers to anyone and personally will never buy another Epsom printer again.. once the ink that is left in this one I have now runs out, I will be replacing it.. I've had it just over a year so it seems a waste putting it in the rubbish but cant think of what else I can do with it..
Not even coming close meeting any expectation – Upon opening the box, I noticed the flimsy plastic casing and it didn't improve much from here. It printed 1x page in acceptable quality but it all went downhill afterwards. Applied the maintenance and cleaning program, even replaced the cartridges, although my screen indicated they were still at 80% capacity. Did it make any difference?… Read more
Unfortunately not. My experience is when a new device shows issues from the moment you plug it in, it will most likely show troublesome behaviour in the future.
Item has been boxed up and will be returned to the shop. Never again.
Worst Printer Ever Bought – We have had this printer for 8 months, very difficult to set up, drinks the ink and the WIFI only works when it feels like it, and now its not working at all, very cheaply made, save your money and frustration and buy something else, will never buy another Epson again.
